It was Jon that ragequit because he refused to get lives in the early levels from his attempt to speedrun the game that totally backfired.

Oh, must have remembered it incorrectly. My apologies.

I didn't watch the apology video, myself (I thought it was unneeded/pandering to a spoiled audience - and, now getting a better idea on what kind of guy Arin is, faked garbage); but the gist of it was Arin apologizing to the pissed off fanbase (or, more accurately, the vocal minority he chooses to pander to) for neglecting their needs/expectations by not delivering Ghoul Grumps on time and explaining the reasons why (namely, he was going through some mental anguish which disrupted their recording schedule - or something like that).

A whole apology video - because some entitled Grumps fans missed out on a single year of Halloween themed games. And the only reason they got that apology video was because a small spoiled section of the fanbase was so pissed at not getting their Halloween videos that they had - apparently - flooded NSP's newly released music video with 'Where's Ghoul Grumps' and similar entitled comments because these spoiled brats were well aware that Dan is less likely to ignore them.

I wish I was kidding. These are the kind of fans that the Grumps bend over for. I get that they rely on the fanbase to support themselves/their channel; but what ever happened to saying 'no'? - especially when the fans cross the line when it comes t their demands (the Ghoul Grumps fiasco, the House Party stunt, the demands to alter their word choices to avoid triggering people, etc. Where does it end?)

For real?! That honestly riles me up even more about both their treatment of their 'idols' and how two-faced Arin is with his responses to said fans.

- A bunch of entitled brats flooding the comments demanding their yearly spookevent because of other personal reasons? Better act all sad and apologetic to those people with a whole video.

- One fan unintentionally triggering Arin with a well-known meme reference to mocking Ross at their usual expense and apologizing during a stream about it politely? Nah, fuck that person, gotta keep acting butthurt about it, even when you made profit off of that very thing that now upsets you with a effing t-shirt!

I'd seriously wonder how Arin would treat his colleagues and superiors at an actual job outside of his friends/Klingon wife. Did he work at any known brands or stores, etc. before Grumps?

Seeing as his flash animations were popular well before grumps, I imagine he was probably making a living doing that. He may have had a retail job at some point, but I highly doubt he ever worked in a professional setting.

What even is the appeal of Game Grumps? Every episode sounds like the worst radio show ever. They just talk about random shit with no real topic while only occasionally bringing up the game itself. The game is really just there for visual.
Do people actually find anything they have to say interesting? “I had a car, and it exploded.” “I was in NY this morning and now I’m back on LA”
Seriously, who cares? I can only assume the audience consists solely of people who have no friends whatsoever and use their show so they can pretend they’re sitting on the couch with them.
Part of me hopes that they laugh along and say shit like “oh, Arin~” or “oh, it’s just like that one you when you-“

It used to be funny and pretty chill to see Jon and Arin play games you love or discover something they love. The Sonic 06 aborted LP is easily the best LP of that game. It also works as a friend simulator for a lot of people, hence the rabidly autistic fan base.

Arin worked at a Blockbuster for a little while, but other than that I'm not sure if he's ever had a "real" job.

He did work professionally in animation for a minute but he hated working under someone else and quit.

Probably this. During a stretch of a few months back in 2013, I was stuck by myself in a house I was renting with almost zero social contact outside of a liquor store and made the mistake of getting into Run Button for a minute who focused less on what they played and tried to use the show for a failed stand up comedy platform or bad hot takes.

These were the only conversations I really got to hear and it was kind of comforting until I finally got out of there to civilization and relationships.

Others have mentioned Blockbuster, but - if I recall correctly- he may have also worked at Gamestop, before.

The appeal of the show (and basically all Let's Plays) is aimed at re-creating a feeling of hanging out with a friend and playing a game. This was super common for people who are older now as any game console older than the PS2 didn't have much in the way of online features so the only way to play together was to occupy the same space. Not everyone (or many people, actually) liked or had access to versus games and co-op games weren't super common so a lot of it became shooting the shit while playing a single player game, in particular because those were also much longer.

Some people in that same time period also weren't into playing the actual games or weren't good enough at them to play them and instead watched someone else do so (an older brother, a friend, a boyfriend, etc) and so there's a real precedent for a lot of people for "watching someone play a game and making small talk" which they likely no longer have in their lives - mainly because all of the online additions to gaming means you really don't have to anymore.

Regarding the shittalk (wich is true) about Dogbarf Wanker from TGWTG's thumbnails, have you guys ever noticed that the Game Grump ones rarely makes any sense? Like Dan's avatar is freaking out and Arin's is raging, and you watch that episode and... none of that. Totally random face expressions.

Lol, half of this thread is just conspiracy faggotry thinking everyone involved in Grump was abused, having Stockholm because of the reliable evidence of (I think), bringing old crap that barely relevant at this point, or just regurgitating what been said a thousand times. Funny thread tho.

which category do you fall into then ? cause as I understand threads like this there mostly because any criticism small or big gets shot down in the main thread also stuff that isn't relevant anymore did you actually read all the posts a lot of them are mention things they did this year as well as the kh livestream he did,

I'm more of a lurker for this thread, since I still like GG's content and don't find some of Arin's autism to be that serious. Even the KH stream is just him playing for his mother's charity, which I don't see any problem with it. But if I had to identify with a category, I would be the "what happens to the good old days" group. Also, I want Dan to play more modern games honestly. I still wouldn't consider Arin to be cow worthy even at his worst.

Unrelated to Arin but interesting noneless, a channel called "GameGrumpsMoments" who uploads funny compilations was recently called out by the Game Grumps manager (Vernon) to not upload anything with Jon anymore. I dont know if it was Arin who ordered this but HE is the big boss of the company so he must know.

One thing is to ignore Jon entirely but another is to straight up gaslight him out of existence. I guess keeping "the game grumps brand" clean is all that matters to them.

They don't want him mentioned in more recent uploads; but they sure don't mind keeping the old jontron/Arin videos up so they can continue to suckle on that sweet, sweet ad revenue those videos no doubt still bring in, do they?

They ought to be thankful Jontron isn't a spiteful jerk demanding they remove said videos from the channel, huh?

Could have been like what Greg did to Jirard.
