Coincidentally a couple days ago I found a playlist with all the Jon-era series in order and started rewatching them and some of the parallels are amazing. Like, Jon will be the one goofing off and being an idiot while Arin is giving him shit for playing badly, not knowing everything about the game or trying to get all the secrets. Yet somehow Jon never got insufferable to watch like Arin does when he's doing the exact same shit. Like in one of the Kirby episodes Jon was complaining about how much he hated a certain game mode and kept fooling around instead of trying to finish it, but I think the difference was Jon specified that he thought the game was good, he just personally didn't like that part of it, whereas Arin in the same situation would blame it on the game and claim that it sucked. Arin's a huge fucking contrarian who dislikes things just because people like them, but that alone wouldn't be anywhere near as obnoxious if he didn't always act like his opinion is objective fact and that it's the game's fault he sucks at it.

I don't think Ross has been on GG for a while. He's mainly been working on his cartoon from what I've seen.

Not sure if we can trust this info, but it seems like he was fucked over by the system somehow....in a crap school with even his mother knowing his autistic tendencies wasn't going to get him anywhere.

Okay, since the topic of Arin shitting himself during a video keeps coming up, maybe it should be mentioned that Dan claimed he did the same at the end of the P.T. playthrough, although it was probably just a callback to Arin's claim at the start that this game would make anyone "shit in their pants". That video is over thirty minutes of Arin happily tormenting Danny, who does get legit freaked out at graphic horror.

And those comparisons of Suzy to Yoko Ono? They'd be more fitting if Arin had first married someone else, then walked away from the marriage to be with Suzy. He does seem to genuinely worship her, though, but I don't poke into their personal lives enough to wonder if their relationship is that unhealthy or not. I'll leave that up to you guys.
 
Arin has a similar issue to DSP in regards to gaming, besides just both of them being bad at games. They both seem like they were major gamers back in the day, but have since lost most of their interest in the industry. Arin has a clear preference for older games from his youth. He's been pretty critical of games made after 2000 because of their story inclusion. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to be said about the level of quality in video game writing, but Arin just seems frustrated it exists at all, even if it is just in the form of minimal dialogue.

Arin is at least a little better than DSP because he doesn't exclusively play new games/force himself to beat the games. I think there's also been the odd modern game he's enjoyed.

I don't think it's unhealthy. Arin doesn't seem miserable with her, or vice versa. All things considered, the way Arin tells it they're actually quite happy with one another. I just think it's easy to project shit onto their marriage because he's a manchild and she just looks so fuckin weird.
 
Y'know you can actually see Arin's tendency to ignore instructions and fail at the game pretty early on. Take Metal Gear Awesome, where Snake dies at every corner, especially during the poison gas tripwires and the minefield. Both instances have a character call you to warn you about the trap, and in both instances you see Arin's Snake rush headfirst into them.

Now at first glance it seems like a silly exaggeration, but given what we know now about Arin's actual abilities and habits, I wouldn't be surprised if the Metal Gear Awesome videos represented his failures at playing the game in real life.

Speaking of sonic sperging, has anyone posted this yet? It's the worst Arin freakout I ever saw while watching them.
TL;DR Arin can't beat a sonic boss, so he starts screaming, punches a cabinet and breaks a light.
When his friends come to check on him because they're worried, he screams at Barry (who was the most soft spoken, non confrontational person ever on the show) to fuck off. They try to shake it off as a joke in the editing but Barry seems uncomfortable.

Before this video came out I bought into the idea that Arin's anger was just part of the character, but this changed my mind.

Egoraptor knew early on animation on the internet was going to slowly die, and despite his work on Newgrounds, was more passionate about voice acting than anything.

Looking at the early 2012 trend of lets plays on YouTube, he jumped ship with Jontron to make GameGrumps. He made one or two more animations before effectively shoving his identity under the carpet and forgetting about it.

Arin used his channel as more an opportunity to get into the industry than as a sole means of income. He effectively found work in voice acting, started a semi successful comedy band with Ninja Sex Party, funded several side projects and tours, and basically runs and owns a company.

This all to say he's making solid finanical decisions and is probably happier as a whole. Will it last forever? No. Of course not. But he's effectively doing a transition that very few animators are doing on YouTube

Conspiracy Grumps is about all the autism that's going to affect him, and Im not surprised @2odastream of all people is digging this from Reddit.

Not really. Arin lamented in a random Grump video that other Newgrounds animators (like HotDiggedyDemon, Oney or Happy Harry) are way better at the medium than him. I think Arin may have recognized his limitations for animation.

Arin capitalized on lets plays right when Smosh did their cringy Slenderman letsplay in late 2011. He clearly made an investment super early on and he benetited from it greatly.

Harry Partridge and Max are amazing animators, no denying that, but Egoraptor was extremely popular at the time. He couldve easily stayed on. Like I said though, Arin considered himself a voice actor as much as an animator. Not saying its 100% calculated, but he clearly jumped ship years before everyone else did.

Im going to double down and just immerse myself in autism while I explain Arin's constant stupidity.

I dont agree with it a lot of the time, the fine line of his act has definitely crossed over in the past, and Ill take all the ratings just to offer perspective.

Arin has gone on record on his solo play ot Megaman X saying his behavior and mannerisms have drastically changed when Danny got on board to be ' Not so Grump.' Taking on the Grump persona or the duo, he does exaggerate and flail around more than he has to for an act.


For a point of reference, watch how he interacts with fellow animator and letsplayer Oney NG.


Does Arin have strange diet plans and fads he promotes? Sure. Did he have a club where men swung their dicks around? Yeah. But at the end of the day, Arin has been a genuine guy that basically has zero qualms about crossdressing, and still has a solid reputation on the internet.

Also hes a Californian. What the hell do you expect from a Burbank suburbanite?

That part from 1:42 onward, shitting on fans, his way of speaking, controller throwing, and the verbal tirade , just cemented Arin as being DSP's long lost twin brother in my eyes.

Harry Partridge is a far superior animator sure, but most of his fans died of old age between Starbarians and Starbarians 2. Feeling intimidated by him is an excuse, plain and simple.
 
Back in the day, on his actual "Egoraptor" channel, I remember Erin had a really funny video where it was him dubbing a scene between Gohan and Piccolo from DBZ. It was basically Piccolo asking for a blowjob from Gohan and at the end of the video, Piccolo calls Gohan a "fucking faggot." When I was a wee lad, I thought his dub was really funny because Egoraptor has one of those over the top voices I can get a chuckle out of when I'm in the right mood.

I didn't know Erin went full on PC, so now it makes perfect sense why I couldn't find the video after I tried looking it up years later. You can't be a progressive and say faggot. I unfortunately haven't had any luck finding an archive of that video.

I'm so happy that Harry never betrayed his Animation roots, even if he uploads once every 3 years because he spends all his time animating.
