This review has caused some of the biggest pushback against Fantano that I've seen. I haven't watched it (and won't) but his fans are upset he said that Halsey has "main character syndrome" because she sings a lot about having had cancer on the album. Is this true? Don't know. But it has stirred up some drama.

Good, this is what he deserves for riding this faggot ass poptimist train and curating his awful fanbase that will never let him live this down even if its a demonstrably shit album. A milder form of this happened earlier with Chappel Roan where he decided to change his opinion conveniently after she blew up and took back his earlier review where he said found her stuff extremely mid and uninspired. Hes a not serious critic.

Fantano seems like the kind of guy that would go into a roid rage at le chuds on the internet and beat his wife but doesn't because he's afraid his fans will call him a misogynist. He's such a performative, fake carboard cutout of a human being.
The guy seems to have almost zero empathy or human emotion (or personality) whatsoever except when he's trying to get soyboy internet asspats by calling people racist for saying modern nigrap is gay or getting into slapfights with boomer evangelicals on xitter because Muhammed Wahalligoatfuckedmyassallah got blown up by a kike bomb last week thus christians globally have zero problems and should never complain about anything ever.

It is so incredibly satisfying to see Fantano's new woke audience turning on him for the slightest step out of line. Exact same thing that happened with Ethan Klein once you start pandering to a progressive audience you have to live up to their insane standards.

Its been interesting to watch him rag on establishment music critics for being out of touch and their bad takes. He now IS the establishment and is just as out of touch.

It also seems like he's gotten much lazier intellectually as time passes. I listened to one of Abigail's reviews to get a sense of who she was and my first thought was she clearly listened to the album at least a dozen times recently before talking about it. I definitely don't get that sense with Anthony.
