Ant is meeting with the GM and owner of the station soon. He says the station has a "90's radio vibe" and the owner has a direct hand in operations. This could be him rump swabbing, of course. "It's like a small mom-and-pop radio station."
In the beginning, most of the shows will be prerecorded in his studio, with 1 live show from their studio per month. He is doing "the weekend shift" with no confirmation on time slot. Ant wants to do middays during the week but this weekend thing, he says, is probationary to make sure he doesn't blow everything up immediately (lol).
The interviewer starts bashing Opie 2 minutes in for no reason and proceeds to massage Anthony, "you know a lotta words." Ant says he got hired because of the "Trump effect" and says he's doing this because he loves radio. Ant sees this gig as "vindication" and a way to upset certain people (I guess).
Ant will be allowed to plug his own shows with this gig.
Ant compares behaving on radio to behaving in front of your girlfriend's parents when you're a teenager. In fact, Ant says this is a fun challenge and he's talking about this like he's looking forward to being censored/restricted. Any old-timers will remember that Anthony once went on a long rant about how much he hated and did not care meeting his girlfriend's parents especially their dads who always saw him for what he was.

Ryan Katsu Rivera, Gavin and Ant's producer, recently went on paternity leave. There was a narrative that Gavin & Ryan were pretending again that he was leaving the show for good and moving out of NYC with his family to go work for Sam Hyde.
Is Ryan's new fill-in helping Ant prerecord his weekend radio hits?
Gavin McInnes' brand is a lot more toxic than Ant's. Is the station okay with Ant & Gavin's ongoing partnership? Is the station okay with Ant using Censored.tv assets?
In the event that Ant passes the precorded weekend probation and switches to an afternoon live radio gig, is he planning on doing separate WABC and Censored.tv shows? Some sort of simulcast where Censored.tv subscribers get a watered down censored radio show instead of what they get now?
One also wonders what contractual obligations Gavin secured for Ant's content with the merger last year.
If Ant starts neglecting his Censored.tv obligations, did McInnes effectively pay for the pleasure of yeeting all the Compound Media deadwood and a subscribers list?
My impression is that Anthony is going to do a standard conservative talk radio format for WABC while plugging his Compound stuff. A clean-up will likely precede this to get rid of the more abrasive content on Compound. I have absolutely no clue how this will affect his Compound business or his business with Gavin and Ryan. My intuitive guess (and it's only a guess) is that Ant wants to move away from Compound and all that stuff as his main income and get a regular, stable radio gig. Anyone that WABC will hire goes along with him while everyone else jumps ship.
It is also possible that the station will buy up any assets and use its legal arm to hide it. Catsimatidis may be thinking it's easier to cover up Anthony's indiscretions and make money off of him. As mawrie notes above, I do not see how this goes without pests terrorizing the station. It'd actually be a massive success for Ant and WABC if it just turns into a legacy O&A product, but the 10+ years of pests festering has not been good.

To be fair, I do listen to radio. Conservative talk radio, even. I don't think he wants to grow his audience, though. I think this is a chance at a stable paycheck.

Only reason why he’s considering this show is that he’s burned through most of his money over the years and Missy Muscles is hoping she’s the Anna Nicole Smith to Anthony’s J. Howard Marshall. She’s not sticking around to end up with a reverse mortgage on their lavish South Carolina mansion.

From what someone else in radio i knew of has said, there's no way in hell they aren't offering him more than 10k a year, and probably way less for a weekly pre-recorded 1hr spot. People forget Ant was so desperate for money or a fanbase he was doing those "comedians of compound" shows with like a talking potato.

If he was less retarded he would still be on Satellite raking in a lucrative salary.
