So if the (soon to close down) JimAndSam Reddit is correct, apparently Anthony went on an unusually vicious tirade about transgender people and then immediately ended it with "oh not Jim's wife" and went on a hilarious backtrack because he's scared that being consistent and logical with his views will damage the few remaining friendships he has left

Its interesting to watch him try to synchronize his pathological and edgy hatred of entire people with personal friendships, like how he makes exceptions for Patrice. Most people who hold such beliefs usually shed them as they get to actually know someone from said group they hate (kind of like that Black guy that befriends KKK members to get them to leave)
 
but that guy actually befriends groups of people who hate him as a way of trying to understand them. Within that attempt of understanding they realize how futile and stupid their nonsensical superiority complex is. unlike anthony, he's just a miserable old man who never got over his childhood and takes it out on everyone else. we get it your daddy hit you and the spaghetti hit the wall, and you're somehow confused about your sexuality

Anthony is an idiot for shitting on them for all the wrong reasons. If talking about how much the New Orleans terrorists attacked, exposed how much the BLM and African American community as a whole are sympathetic to Isis. I wouldn't blame him. White supremacists and black supremacists tend to be Friends in real life. There is a reason why racists have more racially diverse friends than white liberals is a meme. Because it's true. Black supremacists tend to hate ghetto culture more than white supremacists. Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks is just as popular with black viewers as he is with white racist viewers. I always suspected Patrice O'Neil kept his power levels down on the radio. Then again, I always suspected Opie was more conservative than Anthony except for race. But Opie probably hates white liberals more than Anthony. When white leftists get killed overseas in the news for doing something stupid, it tends to be Opie that makes fun of them before Anthony.

The problem is that Sirius doesn't want funny, they want safe and simple content that isn't going to cause any negative press. On top of that, they really have been committed to downsizing everything over the last decade plus. Travis discussed it when Erock got laid off: Sirius doesn't feel they need all these behind the scenes people for all these different shows. Dennis was also older and closer to retirement so it was probably easier to justify relieving him of his duties for someone who could stick around much longer.

The thing is, I don't think he really deep down hates trannies. Maybe individual ones who do stuff specifically to oppose him, but not in general the deeper concepts of who they are. A lot of his current opinions on politics are largely an act, hating trannies is the current big thing on the right so naturally he has to go along with it.

Anthony in all honesty would probably be closer to liberal in more regards if it wasn't for his burning hatred of blacks.

However, he couldn’t be more different than the typical shitkicker in rural South Carolina even though they’re supposedly on the same team. He has more in common with a bugman urbanite in Noo Yawk. He knows he’s not one of the locals and vice versa, they correctly surmise he’s just another carpetbagger.
 
Anthony is shamelessly libertine, I highly doubt he's a conservative (or at least a principled conservative) outside of race and guns. He's not doing a good job convincing people he's having more fun in some bumpkin shantytown in the middle of nowhere than New York City or Long Island. He'd have more fun and would blend in better in the Gaza strip

I didn't realize it but Terry retired last year. She looks like boiled shit, but I'd argue her story played out better than his. There is some harmony in the universe.

Not only did Terry have a long and appreciated career, she retired in good standing with the business and was also nominated for the Country Radio Hall of Fame (archive). Her having a happy ending despite the horrible (and hilarious) beatings she took during Jocktober, alongside the dud ending for O&A, is proof enough to me that there is a God.

Radio is in a terrible spot right now.

They need broadcasters but as a platform provide next to no value to said broadcasters. Sam got pushed because he's literally the most famous O&A "cast member" that couldn't do any better (aka starting a successful podcast or show for himself).

Sadly they don't - the technology is at a point you don't need another 6-15 staff members per show and it's a huge expense they really don't need. Even in the O&A "good" days, they would just put a garbage can on Steve C's seat and it would get just as much work done.
 
Terry also got the last laugh as her son was an admin on the /r/OnA sub during an era of regularly trashing the cumia's so much they took it to the people's court
