A lot of interns blamed the show for them not being able to find work afterwards
I still believe that Sam was personally responsible for all the abuse and harassment that was going on behind the scenes, but he always kept his hands clean in the eyes of the company. Also, nobody is to blame for Doodie Hat except for Cream Pie Jones. He knew it was on video and agreed to do it for almost no money. Of course other radio stations aren't going to hire you after that.

I said before that I feel that Sirius from the moment that took over the merger was looking for a reason to axe ONA. Part of it may have been due to Howard's influence, but a lot it also was that ONA was a constant HR nightmare behind the scenes. Ignoring all the scandals and controversies in the media, there was a pretty obvious negative atmosphere for those that worked on the show. And it became more apparent post merger.
Not Howard's influence (if he wanted them gone, they'd be gone the next fucking day) but more of a "what do we do with these guys?" situation. XM brought them in to spearhead Satellite radio and to lure in Howard's demographic with uncensored talk radio. O&A were there to fight Howard Stern explicitly - and tried to do so. But what do you do when the companies merge? No point in keeping two sets of shock jocks on the air at the same time.

So Opie and Anthony weren't fired - but they 100% were cut down to size. Opie in particular went from "a big fucking deal" at XM Radio to "a guy that doesn't have proper clearance to use certain hallways". I don't think SXM wanted to fire them - they had a lot of airtime to fill - but they didn't want to invest in them either, so no more antics and you're getting paid relative to what the channel brings in. I think that Jim and Anthony are spineless and would have just kept pumping out a show for some kind of money but Opie was (seemingly) really mad that never got to get out from under the O&A show and that they had expressly, entirely, and completely been beaten by Stern.

I think on some level Opie wanted to have the O&A show end somewhat naturally but stay at SXM as a high level executive/producer and that clearly never happened.

By his own admission his ideal scenario was that their last contract was going to run out, and then the shows were split "with Jimmy doing whatever". I think that dogshit he was doing with Vic Henly, Sherrod and Carl Ruiz was genuinely what he wanted to do and had been his intended idea to pitch Sirius before Cumia more or less did the job for him. Brothaman 100% wanted to stay a "personality" and had Doodygate not gone down he would have taken less and less money every contract just to be able to say he was an on-air personality.

This is true. One of the first things Howard did when the merger happened was put another gag order on O&A. They were forbidden from using audio from his channels in any way. Howard then had employees listen to O&A every day to monitor them (and also steal bits from them). Howard still has people on his payroll that literally do nothing but listen to Rogan and other shows and try to lift bits and ideas then pass them off as their own. He also only uses fake callers and fake social media posts on his show (something discussed in the Pelican Brief).
Part of it may have been due to Howard's influence, but a lot it also was that ONA was a constant HR nightmare behind the scenes. Ignoring all the scandals and controversies in the media, there was a pretty obvious negative atmosphere for those that worked on the show. And it became more apparent post merger.
This is false. Howard was a bigger pain for Sirius and XM than O&A ever were. Hundreds of millions in dollars in lawsuits from Stern against Sirius before and after the merger. SEC investigations into payola violations and insider trading that included arrests. Some of Howard's radio insiders were Epstein associates including Leon Black, the person who hired Howard, who was accused of raping a retarded child in Epstein's townhouse. Howard and his Epstein friends are too well connected and powerful to get fired. Howard sued Sirius for $300 million. O&A did nothing even close.
Every intern that ended up working for the show ended up leaving the internship hating the show and hating the company for putting them on there.
Same with Stern. One of Stern's interns ended up suing Sirius and it caused a class action lawsuit. She was running grocery errands for Robin and got hit by a car and sued Sirius for medical reimbursement and it became a big lawsuit.
Even if Opie wanted to leave he couldn't. He had absolutely zero friends and spent the better part of 20 years cultivating enemies. He greatly underestimated his position.
He created the biggest radio show of all time basically. It lead to the biggest podcast of all time in Rogan. You can't expect him to work forever like Imus or Stern until he drops dead. Even Tom Brady retired. Opie clearly didn't care about working anymore because when Sirius fired him he didn't fight it he just walked. Antony is friendless as well. Same with Norton. They all hate each other.

I love that he got stuck with Jimmy in the divorce, it was FANTASTIC. I mean, not the show, but the fights were great.
I would have rather had Jimmy at Compound Media. Ant, Jimmy, and Dave Landau might have been a good enough show to subscribe to. Right when Ant got fired, I strongly considered subscribing to CM because I thought there was a very good chance that Jimmy would end up there.

Instead we got Jim and Opie. It was like Ron & Fez with all the on-air shitting but without any of the funny. If you have a show that's designed to be a dumpster fire, you need a guy like Ronnie B. at the helm to keep it under control. The Opester couldn't fill that role on his best day.

You know what, re-hearing the story now, it all sounds like nigger bullshit.
I don't know if I 100% believe him but he sounded much more serious than usual when he told the story on O&A.

Sam is a fucking weasel.

Because Jim Norton is a whore and a shitty friend. Compound Media was never going to make SXM money - and Opie was probably able to wrangle some halfway decent money for O&A / O&J so he stayed over at SXM - despite the fact he's probably doing very well for himself and doesn't need to prostitute himself out for money.

Opie I get to an extent - he wanted the show to end eventually and Anthony was going to make it happen with how careless he was - so when it happened Opie rode out the contract and then started to go his own way. But Jim (if he was a good friend and not a complete whore) would have either rode out the contract or quit outright and helped Compound Media but he's a worm so he didn't. He'd rather take the easy money and then complain about being a worthless middle then to take a chance and try and achieve something.

I sympathize more with Opie because it is clear he wasn't in the wrong. He was in a toxic work environment and wanted to get out of it. He however understood the business side of the industry and saw where things were heading with radio. He had limited options available to him so he just had to miserably put up with what he had on his plate for the time being.

Norton I feel would have saved himself from a lot of fans turning on him if he just admitted that he cared more about money and having a career. He had to always pretend he was the opposite and that he had these deeper principals. Even the Louis C.K. drama could have been avoided had he not pretended to be offended by what Louis C.K. did.

Jim and his Viking bride were on Kennedy’s podcast and it emerged that Jim REALLY doesn’t want kids but his missus won’t take no for an answer. It seems Nikki is enough of a woman to believe she’s going to change his mind even though Jimmy all but says he’s a heartless prick who wouldn’t be able to connect emotionally with his own offspring. I expect the wife to go Benoit on him when this clash reaches fever pitch.

I also didn’t realize this bitch is still in her 20s and they have a 29 year age difference. It looks old as hell.

Gay men tend to age really quickly. So little surprise that he’ll look as old as Jimmy here in a couple years.

I suspect the only reason why Jim’s blushing bride wants a kid is for child support payments. He continues to burn quickly through whatever Jim is making right now.

You realize Opie created the toxic work environment, right?
I don't really blame him for it. Being around degenerates like Anthony and Jim day in and day out would be enough to make any human being lose their mind.

It is funny how he once mocked Patrice for not realizing that his girlfriend was only with him due to his celebrity status and wealth. And yet here he is falling into the same trap with a tranny.

Maybe I'm missing something here - but from a biological standpoint they can't actually have genetic children. One of them needs to be the father unless we're drinking the koolaid so much that we're discussing Jim getting his "wife" "real pregnant".

I'm sure Jim's Chip/Uncle Paul impressions would go over great at an adoption hearing, though.

I didn't mean because the gig was bad - I meant because at that point he and Anthony weren't friends. They didn't hang out that often, ran in different circles, were into different things - etc. They were strictly co-workers. I have 0 expectations for coworkers - people get fired all the time and I don't expect them to have any kind of solidarity so I didn't expect Opie to quit in solidarity with Anthony. He didn't even pretend like they were friends and even outright stated (both of them) "we're two guys who work together".

Jim is quite literally a worm.
He was Andrew Dice Clay's biggest fan/best friends (until ADC couldn't help Jimmy's career)
Then he was Colin Quinn's best friend (until CQ couldn't help his career)
Then Louis CK (until LCK couldn't help his career)
Then Anthony (until Ant couldn't help his career)

I'm sure I'm missing some (Florentine, etc), but Patrice said it best unintentionally when he said "Norton is shaped like any container you pour him into".

Maybe I'm missing something here
Rich fags pay a surrogate to carry a baby for them. They will use an egg from the surrogate or some other donor. Less commonly (because shit stabbers love to design their own accessories and hate to jump thorough quality control hoops), they just adopt a baby.

I get that - I mean only one of them can be the actual father with it being "the other guy's kid" in essence.
