It is hard to judge him by todays standards because so much has changed since he died. I wouldn't be shocked if he went along with a lot of the BLM stuff, but I don't know if he would have stood firm on other issues as they crept up.
People who talk about how "red pilled and based" Patrice would be if he were alive today never really understood Patrice. He would say shit like people should be allowed to be racist but that doesn't mean if he were alive and Anthony was still the same washed out hack he is today that he'd side with Cumia. The dude had far more "militant" racial sentiments than most of todays BLM, it makes little sense that he'd have edged more Conservative over time.

He'd probably half-ironically half-sincerely express some kind of admiration for Donald Trump "because he's the niggerst President" or something like that, but that he'd be anywhere close to "You are right, Anthony, and the modern race hustlers are wrong!" the way some (not you specifically, poster, just in general) people think he'd go is completely insane.

cumia sperging over the debate, this made me laugh. https://x.com/AnthonyCumia

Compound Media merging with Censored.tv is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. And people are pissed he’s letting Garrett go. Even Kevin fucking Brennan, who has poison to spew about everybody, loves Garrett unconditionally.

Patrice was human with his own set of flaws. He wasn't even necessarily the funniest, Anthony was quicker witted and funnier than Patrice.
But Patrice had a way with logic. He was able to boil things down to their essence(largely including sexually charged issues), and describe that essence to potential listeners.
Patrice's death marks the beginning of Cumia's descent into madness, just look at the timeline.

Timestamping went wonky, Garrett comes on at 1:35:35.

Watched a clip of Garrett Andritz on Chrissie Mayr's Simpcast last night that got taken down today, likely by Mayr's DMCA.

They talked about how the Compound Media merger went down

- Cumia's crew were informed of the merger and their firings on June 19th
- they were called into a "Big Meeting" by McInnes
- Cumia was in the meeting by Zoom but didn't say much
- the meeting essentially opened with Gavin declaring that "You're all fired" without much further elaboration
- McInnes demanded that they keep working until the NY studio closed and expected everyone remain silent about being let go until the new network launched July 8th
- the Compound Media NYC studio shuttered the last week of June
- McInnes demanded that the freshly fired crew were expected to clean out and shutdown the old studio
- Garrett stated that Gavin was chillingly "corporate" about the whole thing when he knows that isn't who McInnes is
- someone, possibly Gavin, was hounding Garrett and the crew to not take home and make sure they FedExed down to Carolina an old "50lb" bottle of unopened champagne that had been lying around the office since 2019. It was originally supposed to be open when Trump beat Biden.
- Ryan Katsu Rivera, now producing both Gavin & Anthony's shows, never had Garrett send him over any of Cumia's show assets (his intro, his outro, his graphics, etc) before they closed shop
- Chrissie Mayr & Geno Bisconte were part of the group text with the crew but didn't attend "the big meeting" June 19th.
- Mayr & Bisconte are looking this week at a potential local studio they could use together
- Mayr didn't find out about the merger and being sold to Gavin until the 19th either, 5 days before her last show
- Mayr said that Gavin has been trying to merge the two networks for years
- Garrett was asked up Compound subscriber numbers. Claimed completely ignorance. Says Cumia started with 40k when Garrett joined a few weeks into the launch and has been "trickling down"
- Garrett & Steve have a YT channel and are continuing their show. They are going to rebroadcast it on Mayr's YT to start to get more exposure.
- Cumia was completely disinterested in Mayr and Bisconte's last shows in the old studio last week. He didn't even realize it was their last episodes in the studio when contacted. They weren't officially allowed to acknowledge the last episodes because the merger news hadn't broke yet, which crew and talent found awkward

It would always be funny when Opie would try to get blue because it would be such lame 14-year-old shit. "Star Wars? Star Wars is for FAGGOTS!"

And then Ope would mutter faggots for the next seven minutes. I like to imagine norton just staring at him with beady eyes as he does it.

The best part of Opie being fired for filming an employee shitting is that was the employee he kept trying to use to get rid of Norton. Instead, he got rid of himself.

Patrice had some great bits about the golden handcuffs. And Heebie Kikeburger.

I want a reunion just for them to be mean to Opie. "So, for the record, why did we have to leave it alone, you Zapruder of shitters?"

It was Roland wasn't it? Always hated that high pitch soft spoon fat faggot. Heard he only had his job with O&A is because his father was a high level executive at Sirius.

His role as the guy to bring on celebrities for ass kissing interviews was when the show was starting to fall. Such boring radio to hear a safe interview with a celebrity whose just there to plug their newest movie.

Garrett stated that Gavin was chillingly "corporate" about the whole thing when he knows that isn't who McInnes is
Gavin McInnes is one of the slimiest, sneakiest fucks around. This is a guy who created the Proud Boys and when the feds started sniffing around, threw them under the bus, tucked tail and ran while disavowing. Cumia is making a huge mistake putting what’s left of his wretched, decrepit future in the hands of this guy.

opie anthony Jimmy and Patrice were obvious degenerates, but it was a different time; it was way before me too and cancel culture, and people sort of gave it a pass because they were funny, but now seeing just how degenerate and disgusting Jimmy and Anthony are now makes the old stuff less funny in my opinion because it's not just a shock jock persona; these guys's were legit disgusting people. I feel like Patrice's legacy was saved by the fact he died before he could become a Jim Norton or Anthony Cumia.

This merger is giving me Sirius and XM "merger" vibes, where it's less a merger and more of a takeover where one company bends the other over a barrel. Has Censored let anyone go? From what I'm hearing it seems like it's just Compound having to make cuts. Also really great of Ant to sit there silently having spaghetti on the wall flashbacks while Gavin calls his so called friends "economic redundancies" to their face. All those years of loyalty just for him to not pay it back and fight for their jobs.

I spoke to someone today who was on Compound years ago and left on amicable terms. He said the difference between Anthony and Gavin is that Anthony was always pretty nice to people’s faces, whereas Gavin is an asshole much of the time. He was personally surprised that Anthony handled this process in such an avoidably shitty way. So he thinks Garrett and the other vets had probably imagined he’d have their backs if push came to shove and would have been disappointed in the guy to put it mildly.

Patrice did plenty of reprehensible shit. He did a stretch in prison when he and his friends gang raped some white girl. His mother sent him out of state to hide from the cops for a while when it happened. He would also participate in sex tourism trips to Asia and South America, sometimes with Jimmy, to fuck prostititutes. He even admits he more or less fell in love with one of them in Brazil. He told Chris Hansen to his face that "To Catch a Predator" was a fucked up show because most men want to fuck 14 year olds, and the show should use 6-8 year olds as bait instead. His reasoning for this was that his wife was fucking guys in their 20's when she was 13 and she loved it.

The era it happened in matters, but the biggest reason everyone overlooked it was because he was black, and in the 90's-00's, most white people accepted that's how most black men behaved around women.

I didn't know that lore that really further sours Patrice for me; it's pretty shocking the stuff they got away with.

The rape story never really made sense to me. Patrice’s excuse was the bog standard “white bitch just couldn’t get enough of my BBC” but he has always been a fat, gap toothed, ugly nigger; odds are pretty low that some pretty white girl was creaming her panties over Patrice O’Neal but couldn’t handle the stigma so she had to file rape charges. But girls lie about rape all the time so we’ll never know. Once again if Patrice was banging thots left and right I’d take his side of the story a bit more seriously.

His story about banging hookers is something he never hid from. His destinations are favorites of those who play fast and loose with the age of consent laws but there’s no evidence he banged anyone underaged. Given how fat and diabetic he was almost all his life, it’s unlikely his dick worked for the last several years of his life which likely explains why he brought dildos with him on his sex tourism trips.
Has Censored let anyone go?
Yes but Gavin is pretty well versed in firing people so they likely got a severance plus NDA, pretty standard stuff.

This is why I always push back on people saying that O&A would still be around today if Anthony could keep his powder dry on Xitter. They would not have. Jim Norton married a dude so he could keep the cancel culture at bay. Bill Burr married a nigger to protect himself. Howard Stern has the biggest case of troll’s remorse to keep cancelers at bay and even he made sure his ass was legally covered for whatever shenanigans he got into. O&A would not be here today.

Compound is taking cuts because their intrepid main host and CEO lives in South Carolina while funding a studio in NYC - the writing has been on the wall a while. He didn't move his people with him which is a clear exit plan in corporate culture, I'm surprised that anyone is surprised.

I'd wager this is in the works for a few years and probably tied to the NYC studio lease/some major early termination cost/etc and not some sudden business decision on anyone's part. I'm not sure why anyone has the idea of "Anthony is loyal" when he's extremely quick to turn on old friends and is just a grimy dude in general - it's not like anyone from the O&A days is doing great because of Anthony.
