Anime suggestions for Null to never watch

Literally every time the characters do something they will start a monologue "and I am doing the thing so the thing happens and then that thing will make the other thing happen I AM A GENIUS!" like... this is literally the hallmark of a bad movie when you have to explain what is happening instead of showing it. Super annoying and unwatchable.

Also the female character is absolutely pathetic misogynistic wishful fantasy of the incel NEET author who thinks a perfect woman is a total doormat who is willing to throw her life away for a man who doesn't even pick her. At least that's how I remember it, it's been many years.

Death Note is not good, it is just better than the rest because it proposes an interesting question. The first half is good, after L dies (spoiler oops!), it becomes even worse. The goffik girlfriend is a bad character, but after chocolate dude and Near show up, she instantly becomes like the third best character.

Years later the only things I remember are: 1) the ending sequence, 2) Light laughing maniacally at L tomb in the spin off, and 3) I TAKE A POTATO CHIP, AND EAT IT!!!1!!

>Legend of Galactic Heroes
An obvious one, but a good one all the same. The political machinations are pretty interesting and the big fleet battles are always very dynamic and attention-grabbing. Long, but really satisfying.

>Angel Cop
Specifically the subtitled version. An anime where an international cabal of Jews is the primary antagonists is pretty nuts. Plus the over the top gore and violence are pretty entertaining in its own right.

>Grave of the Fireflies
If he cried at Arietty, then he'll like this one. It's one of the two or so anime that even really normie family members I've got like.

I think the settings of a lotta the Gundam shows are pretty good too, but I think he'd be put off by the kinda angsty, teary-eyed psyhic teens. He should certainly read the Z Gundam production bible though. And learn about details that will "of course, never be mentioned in the series."
 
Null keeps getting the synopsis of Evangelion wrong.

It's not about a boy, his sister who he jerks off to, and some other girl.

It's about a boy, one of several imperfect highschool aged clones of his own mother he's sexually attracted to for most of the show, and some random girl he jerks off onto while she's in a coma after being mindraped by a space alien from low-earth orbit. :smug:

After watching and liking Shin Godzilla I had it in the back of my head that maybe I should watch Evangelion because it was written by the same person.
Consider me cured of this idea.
 
If I have to pick do-not-watch recommendation to Jersh, it'd be Jormungand due to the bathing scene around end of episode and Black Lagoon due to torture flashback and hostage scene.

Both have sexual content towards children, because Japan.

In fairness the part with the jerking off isn't in the series itself, it's in the movies that were made as a "fuck you" by the director since nobody like, got his vision for the last 2 episodes, maaaan. Which he was endlessly butthurt about apparently, so his solution was to come up with what was literally happening during those episodes, make sure it was something that'd make everyone which was a fan of the series angry, and release it as a movie.

The part about the clones of his mom though, that was always there, though it's not obvious until late in the series.

Eva is just another bunch of Fart Huffing Garbage. Don't watch any Anime that people call "Deep and thoughtful" Fucking Naruto has more maturity and depth than most of the things people write endless essays about.

People told me to watch Perfect Blue because it's fucking weird. And it was fucking weird. That's pretty much all I know about anime.

"Fucking Weird" is usually something worth watching.

Like, I would tell people to watch Serial Experiments Lain because it is FUCKING WEIRD AS SHIT...it's philosophizing about the internet is dumb as fuck but the show becomes one hell of an acid trip.

Anno when not doing anything associated with Evangelion is rather sane compared to other anime directors of note. However it is when he is working on Evangelion is where he tends to repeatedly lose his shit and gained his reputation.

Honestly stick with the rest of his filmography and don't watch Evangelion.
 
I can recomment my finds of the past years.

That show about the Honda Scooter is super chill and lacks all the stupid stuff that other animes like it normaly have.

The Show about maids having a full on gang war is very cool and also lacks alot of what makes anime stupid...

Lastman is what you get when you have a high quality european comic and make a french anime with a small budget from it.
Its just better than any comparable anime in anyway.

First one I presume is Kino no Tabi, was enjoying it but never finished it since it was a time where finding this stuff was actually hard sometimes. No idea on the other two though, second one specially since "maids" and "lacks what makes anime stupid" already pikes my curiosity.

Good guess but its Supercub. It not just looks super good, its also focused on a part of youth that normal gets no love. the point in your life when you can just go somewhere if you want without the need for a bus or your mom. im maybe a bit biased because i like scooters.

the last one is just called lastman. The French being better at anime in pretty much every way.
