I can't really find the parallel here. Most shonen fall into the Star Wars better with endless retread and creating their own autistic universe. In comparuson, LoGH is a pretty done deal and any continuation will detract from it.
In general the issue with anime recommendations is that because you don't what genre someone likes then you just repeat the same boring shows over and over despite the most fun with anime is going blind to a show and either it surpassing expectations or being an astounding trainwreck

This anime is one of the major reasons I decided anime was shit. Me, as a youngin, was forced to watch this by a weeb who tried to convince me that anime was "TOTALLY COOL YOU JUST NEED TO TRY IT!" and so I was like "ok" and in this anime, Death Note, the plot would be entertaining I guess if not for the fact that they EXPLAIN IT every 10 minutes as if the audience is full of utter retards, which I guess they are. Literally every time the characters do something they will start a monologue "and I am doing the thing so the thing happens and then that thing will make the other thing happen I AM A GENIUS!" like... this is literally the hallmark of a bad movie when you have to explain what is happening instead of showing it. Super annoying and unwatchable.
Also the female character is absolutely pathetic misogynistic wishful fantasy of the incel NEET author who thinks a perfect woman is a total doormat who is willing to throw her life away for a man who doesn't even pick her. At least that's how I remember it, it's been many years.
