Here's the article for anyone who wants to jump off a cliff: https://nicchiban.nichegamer.com/20...uffy-to-kamala-harris-saint-charlos-to-trump/

How? How can they make such a comparison? This is Kamala "Heels Up" Harris they're talking about. :stress:
Trump compared to Charlos? Really? The guy that eats well done steaks with ketchup is being compared to a slave driving, hoity toity noble that refuses to share airspace with commoners? I don't know which comparison overreaches more.

They have to maintain the rage somehow, now that Trump's out of office and everybody's looking at Biden's fuckups. Though I'd stop short of saying they came up with clever ways to maintain their rage.

Does anyone here read MHA, or is that too basic? One Punch Man? Battle Angel: Alita?

I read MHA and OPM. Never actually got into Alita personally.

And in other news….

Good to know I can completely skip it then.

Stopped MHA recently out of boredom. It's not a bad series but I hate Deku and just stopped caring. OPM I still follow but I'm getting real fucking sick of the redraws and extra chapters he keeps doing. He's taking longer than One did to wrap up the monster association arc and One takes constant breaks for months at a time.
I only read the manga for both btw. I don't watch much anime these days.

My turn: anyway following the kengan series? Asura was great but Omega has been mixed.

alita was the first ova i watched as a kid through a distant cousin, Vol 5 was the first manga i ever bought at borders. there was a time and a place for it. I thought cameron's movie was a good adaptation. last order and Mars chronicles are interesting reads but they feel a bit fanfictiony. the original story is a good, self contained story. I haven't kept up with Mars Chronicles because the story feels like a reconned prequel. but i read the story 21 years ago.

I recently got a tablet basically just to read manag in bed.

Does anyone have recommendations for short/completed manga? I'm talking like Fullmetal Alchemist length or maybe JoJo (which I'm working through now) where it's nicely divided into self contained stories. A lot or "recommended" lists online are just click bait trash and list the same stuff that has been running for decades. I really don't have the desire or energy to dive into one piece or something similar.

What type of genres are you into? Also, do you read stuff on the scanlation sites? I finished up Hina Change, which is on the Manga Plus app. A body switching story that gets dark in its themes dealing with selfish, opportunistic friends and the after effects they face for their emotional manipulation. It abruptly ends and its epilogue could've been longer but overall a solid read. Ciguatera is another one that I read from a scanlation site. A motorcycle nerd gets bullied and deals with that along with his first girlfriend all while being a stupid, horny teenager and eventually growing up and having his past unexpectedly return to face him. It's way better than my description, but those are two current titles I finished up and enjoyed.

Ajin, Wakusei Closet, and Sengoko Youko are all pretty great. Ajin does have a bit of a wonky start because it changed authors after the first volume, but it makes up for it.
Dorohedoro is also not that long, would definitely recommend checking out the manga, even if you watched the show.

ATTENTION ALL BERSERK NIGGERS. THE FINAL CHAPTER THAT WAS DRAWN/PENNED BY KENTARU MIRUA....POSSIBLY THE FINAL CHAPTER OF BERSERK EVER.... IS OUT NOW
TLDR

In the end after all the blood and horror and carnage and misery over the past three decades, Miura's last chapter features Guts happy and at peace, playing with his son and surrounded by those he loves, the fully returned Casca reunited with her baby, and on the very last page Griffith finally showing remorse for his crimes as he meets Guts and Casca again after literally twenty IRL years. Honestly I cant think of a better note he could have ended upon, whether or not the manga continues using his notes or is allowed to end now on the mother of all cliffhangers.

And now after feeling the feels, here is a soyjak meme to help us laugh away the tears

More motivation to get the omnibus volumes 6-8 during the Fall season. It’s only right, after all.

I read this and thought "Thanks I hate it" because it sounds incredible cheesy and badly written. I was relieved when I found out that nope, this is not what's happening.

Nowhere does Griffith show remorse. He feels sad and lonely but his crimes aren't mentioned anywhere. This would be fucking bad writing. How would you even put all that on only 1 page??

"Sorry Guts & Casca that I raped Casca, sacrificed everyone and destroyed your lives." -The End.

I wonder if it'll come out what kind of ending Miura was trying to aim for?
I don't think he had everything planned out but I'm at least willing to bet he had a rough idea. Getting into a bit of theory faggotry I really don't think it was going to be one big battle between Guts and Griffith or a talk no jutsu moment but I kinda think Void or one of the god hand was gonna backstab/oppose Griffith somewhat though I'm not willing to put too much stock into that.

Why do you hate Deku? I mean, yeah, his character can get all over the place, but he's not as bad as others before.

Can't stand characters that cry too fucking much. The dude from Tokyo Revengers is even worse, but I thought that series was terrible.

OPM I kinda dropped because I kept getting annoyed with Murata going back and re-editing chapters making it a bit hard to follow and stay up to date (I am planning to pick it back up eventually when the Human Monster Saga finally wraps up)
MHA I only watched up to season 5 but I am up to date with Vigilantes and although the Six fight is kind of pissing me off I would recommend it to anyone who at least has a mild tolerance for MHA since while it does fall short in some areas, some parts its stronger then the main series

God, imagine if somebody made it into an anime. I can't even begin to imagine how they'd handle all the existentialism, graphic sex, and overall strangeness.
Was poking around and about read this because I recognized the name. The description was shit so I passed. Might have to give it a go.

For stuff that's got an official translation and you're willing to pay for... A good ebook reader is worth it. Trust me.

Square-Enix/Gangan Online recently held a popularity poll to celebrate the WataMote manga's 10th anniversary and 20th volume.

WataMote-2021-CharacterPoll-top3.jpg

Yuri Tamura, a character who was first introduced during the Kyoto field trip arc, beating Tomoko Kuroki by almost 6000 points was quite a surprise. Hina Nemoto is a girl who has been in Tomoko's class since the first year of high school (and who even appeared in the anime although the anime version of her had less extravagant dark hair) but she didn't really try to befriend Tomoko until the second year.

It's about time that we got a Yuri Tamura flashback chapter, like the one that Hina Nemoto has already gotten (see volume 15, if I remember correctly).
