At least in terms of him and Sasuke, I read that Kishimoto based the Naruto/Sasuke relationship on him and his estranged brother. Essentially, Kishi is desperate to reconnect and talk to his brother while his brother wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
That's interesting to know. I've read a little of his brother's work and the early stuff is pretty similar to Naruto. I wonder what happened. They also both started their own sci fi series around the same time and they both got cancelled early. Samurai 8 deserved it though, damn that manga sucked.

I don't want to laugh...But I will internally
But it will make sense that Kishimoto would see himself in Itachi in trying to weasel his way.
It would also make sense of the first rooftop fight which was the major shift. I refuse to believe that there was anything brotherly before that fight.

I really liked 666 Satan, but the second half seemed super rushed and left me unsatisfied.

Recommendations for romantic, bishounen, reverse harem anime? With tons of fanservice. Plot is not a requirement. Just fanservice.

Something like Brother’s Conflict, Amnesia or Diabolik Lovers, just less creepy
Free!
Watashi ga Motete Dousunda
Hakuouki
King of Prism

Sakura Diaries if you haven't seen it yet. It's an older less known series.
Reading comprehension much? This is not a reverse harem.

By the way mangaka Jin Kobayashi of School Rumble hasn't been active in Youtube or Twitter for months now

And videos where he streams and does Q&A are gone too, the ones that remain, you gotta pay and be a member. Not much news about him, this School Rumble fan youtuber translated some of the Q&A from one of the videos Kobayashi did months ago:

Someone in the comments mentioned:

I remember in the last video they did in December, one of the comments said he was planning on a new manga. Maybe that explains his absence? Making that takes up a lot of time.

Sounds a bit more plausible. If it's true hope it's a good one. Speaking of which not sure how much this matters but it is the birthday of two characters of School Rumble:

Lala Gonzalez the Mexican transfer student, and Kentaro Nara the 'normal' person of the show. They both share the same birthday.

Don't know if it has anything to do with that, but the part near the end of part 1 of Naruto where Naruto and Sasuke have their falling out because Sasuke doesn't like that Naruto is growing stronger faster makes a horrifying amount of thematic sense, now.

I didn't know they had a real life falling out, but 666 Satan was shitcanned despite good sales because the author and publisher kept getting death threats for "copying" Naruto, and the publisher told Seishi Kishimoto to wrap up the series early. Those things stand a good chance of being connected.

It gets worse.

Regarding that Naruto vid I posted, I figured out why I hate the vid so much. Simply put, I says that Rock Lee and Neil were wrong.
Even if the entirety of Naruto was about "understanding", what's to understand about a hypocrite like him? The understanding aspect only works ONCE for the series with the Zabuza arc.
Naruto would accept anything that resembles him, related to him or to Konoha.
Naruto would even praise the Uchiha that made him an orphan in the first place.
the vid doesnt understand hyuga clan shit very well. the clan is an edo period sentiment in an alternate universe japan. plenty of treachery in thode edo clan stories. the clab dynamics are in other works like kakegurui too.

by the chunin exams, hinata is heiress by formality only, everyone looks to her youger sister as the actual successor. its explicitly so in the manga. she is a failure.

lets say hinatas dad was the cruel patriarch he was initially portrayed as. he couldve killed neji as soon as he beat hinata or started talking about clan secrets. but then theres no story. hinata's dad is the reformer of the clan, maybe inspired by naruto, but hes there training neji and the sister. hinata's still a failure as a heiress.

e: naruto is fun bevause its edo japan but modern and magical. wish the manga added the flourisg of the anime like when naruto and kiba added on to shikqmaru's note to choji.

The whole "worker's revolution" thing is a sham since too many times has it been subverted by government psyops and grifters. Once they tread a line that you "absolutely must not cross" (ie targeting the people financially backing such a movement) it all falls apart.

The other problem is that most who encourage it have their own agenda that's nowhere near benevolent or sincere. The problem with such an "inclusive" movement is that; ultimately, ideology can only get you so far when a one or two assholes get the bright idea to be bought or sell out because they were never that earnest. It's the oldest scam.

I think this is the real reason as to why in the final years of the last decade, Battle Angel Alita is still the best live action film that I’ve seen in a while.

It says a lot that that along with Sonic The Hedgehog was actually made with the real fans in mind.
Even something like Pacific Rim, which while more of a love letter than straight adaption, was just such a great watch because of how much love for the genre you could see Del Toro had. It made it even more painfully obvious that level of passion when you compared the first to the abortion that was the second which reeked of trying to cash in.

Of that genre I liked Prince-sama the most even if it wasn't the most romantic just because of the sheer level of weird that it accomplished. As for fanservice, I think it had a decent level though it's been a while and all I can remember is the ending for s2 which made even /a/ do a double take with how much it included. Haven't seen it myself but apparently Meiji Tokyo Renka is pretty decent, though it has a bittersweet ending if that's a turn off.

One of the problems I find with recommending most is that they're adaptions of otome games which work much better in that format, the anime has to cut so much. I liked the Hakuouki anime well enough, but I remember it leaning more into being a historical drama than an otome, you have to play the games to really get that element (the numerous cgs + multiple routes). There's also an anime adaption of Code;Realize, one of the most popular otome games out there, yet I've never really been interested because I imagined a lot of it had to be cut to streamline the main story.

Might have some luck with stuff like Ensemble Stars! (Just ignore the cancerous community surrounding it), IDOLiSH7, or A3 if you don't mind idol since those are just adaptions of phone games that (usually) don't suffer as much from the limited aspect of episode limits.

The modern Western (well.. American) media landscape is almost completely devoid of passion and sincerity. Everything MUST be self-referential and ironic, because god forbid you have some fucking fun and just run with a ridiculous concept WITHOUT the characters pointing out how fucking ridiculous it is.

Really says a lot that a fucking children’s movie about a blue hedgehog that runs really fast has more heart than 99% of the drivel that Hollywood shits out.

Makes me very curious to see how the second one will turn out now that the studio knows there's money to be had, wonder if they'll try to get more involved. Last I heard they announced Idris Elba playing Knuckles which I'm actually intrigued seeing how that would go, I'd love it just being him in a shitty Knuckles costume instead of a cgi Knuckles and with it never being acknowledged.

What are the most unfairly rated/dismissed anime for you? For me it's Ranpo Kitan - it gets 6.6 on MAL, but I give it 8 and Seiji Kishi is one of the best directors active in the industry.
Oh my God that show. I was real into it at first, but the 11-episode count fucked with it so goddamn much and I think it didn't do Edogawa Rampo's works any favors as a result. Also I swear to you the three main boys were just too perfect in their detective skills, I found them more annoying than engaging.

Still think "Mikazuki" is a pretty song, though.

Holy shit I've seen that shota-bait anime, don't remember it being too memorable.

The really interesting anime I never hear anyone talking about is C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control (holy shit it's turning 10 this year). The plot is basically "what if the stock market was a shonen?" with the idea of people pawning their future to possibly get gains, with the stakes rising to national level of pawning out the country's entire future to avoid the massive crisis of an economic meltdown. While it's alright right, considering what's happening right now, it's basically reality right now.

Bokutachi no Remake is probably up there as one of the best anime(s) of 2021. Their episode of them doing a tribute to Haruhi Suzumiya was pretty enjoyable, in my opinion.

I thought C was interesting, especially the very end, with dollarization and a society where people are actually having children. Also, the American C going "lol piss off" when the wave was approaching the States.
