This is the voice cast reading out a non-canon script written by the original writer of Digimon Tamers, Chiaki J. Konaka. Mr "Lain" himself. i wish someone would redigitize cat shit one/apocalypse meow. the low res scans are hurting my eyes. and i also started and stopped reading "sailor uniforms and heavy tanks" a proto-girls and panzer comic by the guy who did ibbon warrior. the story is about middleschool girls doing tank stuff and middle school stuff with lots of tits and upskirts. pretty whatever, the tank stuff is ok, features modern tanks instead of the the ww2 limitation/10ton limit. worth reading if you dont mind all the lewd shit.

Also no one reported on his beliefs until they just happened to show up in the script reading. Hmm.
That entire Twitter thread can be summed up as "you can choose to ignore this" and flowery words meant to calm down the fandom.

How can a tiny ass script the size of 1 episode even talk about cancel culture/fake news/political correctness? It'd probably take an entire series to talk about those subjects, considering the different viewpoints you could talk about.

Konaka's personal blog isn't even that bad anyway. (I'm translating it through Google Translate so I might not be accurate on what he says)
This post from May is where he talks about 9/11 and COVID. All he says about 9/11 is that he looked into 9/11 Truthers and saw they were trying to look at it from a logical perspective, but he saw that they contradicted each other a lot. For COVID, he barely even talks about the disease itself, mostly on the social impact it had. (Also he calls Twitter an echo chamber lmao)
This post from yesterday talks about the script itself, mostly issues surrounding how he wanted to approach the plot (with more characters, for one thing) and how the reading itself can't be marketed outside of DigiFes 2021. He does talk about how he chose cancel culture/political correctness as the villain of the reading near the end, and how it essentially had to end on a cliffhanger like the 2018 CD drama because not every VA was there (like Renamon's VA, who wasn't present for either the 2018 CD drama or this reading).

To be fair, I didn't even know he had a personal blog before I went onto the With the Will forums to see what they thought of the script. One of the posters mentioned it and had a link so I figured it would be worth checking out.
Having just gotten into Digimon a few weeks ago (I think 2 or 3 by now), I think my favorite is Tamers because it tackles issues in a much more "real world" way than Adventure. Sure, Adventure had the personal issues with the Chosen Children, but there wasn't really any sort of response to events happening around them, at least not long term ones like Leomon's death being the catalyst for Juri's depression and then that in turn influencing the D-Reaper arc in Tamers.
Or maybe I haven't analyzed Adventure/02/tri./Kizuna enough lol.

I just found Tamers story a lot more intriguing overall, I think. That and I really liked the Digimon used in it. Adventure was still really good, and I didn’t quite enjoy 02 much, but I think 3 shaking things up and not only making it a world where “Digimon” was just a game, but having the majority take place in the real world made it seem like more of a mysterious threat. That and stuff like Impmon being a Digimon that went rogue, Digimon death being permanent, and focusing on a small cast of core characters helped a lot.
I also may have lost my shit when they first introduced Digimon and humans combining to digivolve.

People are making a big to-do out of blogposts like this, and but this post is reasonable and people are acting like he's saying Jews are reptilians or whatever. Konaka even says he used to think Bush starting a war over 9/11 was reasonable back then, now he doesn't and yet people are framing this as though he was once a woke ancom now turned neo-Nazi.
Konaka doesn't like the idea of witch hunting and internet kangaroo courts carried out by mobs of self-righteous and crazed people, so he is quite literally a current-day Goebbels.
I gave this a look see, and expected something but no it's just a vaguely cringey story with a big villain that uses Cancel Culture as a weapon. People acting like this thing is going to murder their families and shit in their cereal have to get a grip, and I doubt they'll do that anytime soon.
