is there anything similar to asobi asobase? a slice of life with stand out personalities? the twin tail's character is pretty great with voice acting range. the comic is stellar as well. closest i could think of is cromartie high but that doesnt have the goofy charm of a spanish inquisition.

The first episode of Dragon Maid looks incredible but I'm pretty surprised they're starting off with the giant tittied shortstack giving the main character a penis.
As long as they don't lewd Kanna and keep her wholesome, all is well.

It’d also nothing but LN adaptations; but you didn’t notice that, did you?
Honestly a bunch of mangas seem to be as well, but unless there's a big sticker on the front saying as much, I won't have a clue, since I wouldn't even know where to go to read translated LN's or even where people talk about them, if there is a scene it must be pretty low key since I don't get bombarded by it ever.

I’m already starting to see people on Twitter getting pissy.
Dragon maid isn't my thing but I find it pretty amusing to think about the twitter folk who picked it up for the 'uwu wholesome lesbiabs' who would now get blasted in the face with the oppai loli and something they'd probably deem transphobia.

Daily Life of Highschool Boys is pretty fun.

Personally, outside sequels I'm excited for Isekai Ojisan, A Faraway Paladin, Slave Harem (the manga is surprisingly comfy), and Fantasy Bishoujo (though the latest arc is weak).
I loved the manga, especially it's rough art style and how the Uncle hated being in another world, didn't get the fact that the elf girl was being a tsundere and how he's obsessed with older technology such as flip phones and Sega consoles. Hope they do a good job of turning it into an anime.

Your mileage may vary with these recommendations, but these shows remind me of Asobi Asobase in their humor and the characters are memorable: Aho Girl and Chio's School Road. If you like short series and absurd humor: Plastic Neesan and Teekyuu.

we're farming saga now gang
Wonder when the complaining will start from anime only about MC not being edgy anymore and it being "boring" since the same thing happened with a lot of people reading the manga who got filtered. With Farmland saga coming out I guess I'll get around to watching through the first season to prepare for it, basically my favorite arc since I didn't care too much for the edgy adventures of young thorfinn.

I haven't seen Asobi Asobase myself but going by the kind of shows people have been recommending I'd put forward Arakawa under the Bridge, Binbougami ga!, Nozaki-kun (though I do lean more towards the manga with its amazing comedic timing), and Sabagebu!

I've been reliving my childhood and watching the Tales of Symphonia OVA anime series. It skips bits and pieces from the game but has done a pretty good job of covering the story of a multidisc JRPG. It has 11 episodes that are all 30 - 50 minutes. Thankfully they actually put effort into animating monsters and the like rather than making them in shitty CGI, which is a big plus.

I sailed the seas for it, but apparently there's fansubs of the entire series available on YouTube as well

I still remember seeing ufotable on this and being suprised as all hell. It's good stuff though and a nice treat after finishing the game.

Always wondered how was the quality of Tales of the Abyss anime.

Also Tales of Symphonia is one of the interesting cases where the western opening is fucking amazing and way better than the original.

Watched to first episode of most of what I was interested in, short thoughts on each:
-Kageki Shoujo! -- Really fun first episode that caught me by surprise, though I really hoping it doesn't get bogged down with too much drama later in. Sarasa is a real fun main character and side cast doesn't look too bad besides the ex-idol who has a massive stick up her ass (and random dislike for Sarasa) who will hopefully chill out soon. Feels like this'll be an underrated gem of the season, though I said the same thing about Mashiro no Oto and that didn't. Will Continue
-Getter Robo Arc -- Okay, so I love Getter Robo but I just can't see myself watching more of this. The animation gets really janky at times, but the worst part is the absolutely awful sound effects and audio mixing for them. I legitimately thought they used the Minecraft drinking sound when Takuma drank that cola until I rewatched the scene, instead they made the bizarre choice of what sounded like them playing a single sip sound effect over and over. I can deal with janky animation, but poor sound bugs me way too much. Voice cast is absolute top tier though. Sadly Dropping unless I find out it gets a bit more polished later on, currently feels like a rough release you wouldn't release to the public.
-Re-Main -- Sucker for sports anime and this one has left me interested in where it'll go, has enough fresh ideas to play around with. The whole amnesia + rehabilitation that the MC is dealing with can create some unique drama. I also like that they showed his family (especially his poor little sister) are still traumatized by the car accident that claimed not only almost a physical year from MC through putting him in a coma/months of physical rehabilitation, but also 3 years of the MC's memories. I'm curious to see the personality of the rest of the team since that could make or break the show, along with the actual sports aspect. Will Continue, also their pet turtle is adorable and I hope it gets a lot of screen time.
-Tsuki Ga -- Big fan of the manga and the novel, enjoying the adaption so fair just the same and liking the "style" it's going with. Don't see it getting super far, but I did enjoy the opening throwing in what looked like some hints at later stuff. Series that I'd really hope would get more seasons if this one does well. Emma sounded quite bad at times, probably due to at home recording, that I'm hoping will go away by next episode. Going to continue.
-Uramichi Oniisan -- Almost exactly what I expect from reading the manga, though it's quicker to bring in plot details, and seems like it'll be a decent adaption. Only thing I might be worried about is the comedy getting old if they just go with the same jokes each time. Will continue.
-Vanitas -- Seems like it'll be a pretty great adaption from Bones, they managed to really get the atmosphere, and the music is already top tier. Hanae stands out as giving a really great performances for Vanitas. Looks like the author is also enjoying the anime if their Twitter is anything to go by. My favorite is them talking about the anime opening being super happy and then making sure to smile towards the manga readers they are currently making suffer. Will continue.
-Otome Game -- Bulk of the first episode was a recap, but as a fan of the first season I'll probably like this one too. Never got farther in the series than what was covered in the first season, though I hadn't heard it was all too amazing so I'm going to lower my expectations since it seems the plot just kind of repeats itself with some new characters (at least that was the rough outline that people gave).
-Genjitsu -- Going to just stick with the manga as it seems like the better adaption, didn't even finish the episode before coming to that conclusion.

I remember rewatching the first part several times, but never actually finishing it because my naïve brain thought I should play the game first to not get spoiled. Should probably get around to actually finishing the anime since that's far quicker than playing the game.

Anyway, from what I remember it was pretty good (no idea how it compares to the game) though I was weird in that I didn't really mind Luke from the beginning even if he was a brat. I know you're supposed to dislike him because of how childish he acted from the start, but for some reason I just never did. Couldn't stand much of the side cast besides Tear, Guy, and maybe Fon though. The plot also didn't feel super rushed (then again I never got to the end where shows typically start to rush).

It felt to me like the jank was on purpose. It's like the creators trying to capture the feel of old anime. Not much of a sound guy so I didn't notice those effects.

NGL, Higurashi is the best comedy anime I'm watching since a while. Seriously, at this point it's just kinda ironically comedic.
If everyone can tell it's a dark comedy and that's why they're enjoying it, I could probably let the dick-sucking pass. Unfortunately, the newbies/veteran fans are a bunch of dumbasses who think it's legitimately scary and it's all so tiresome. I feel as apathetic as Rika on her 500th loop at this point.

i dont understand why comixology forces people to navigate right to left for manga. i get the novelty of pretending my phone is a book with pages that curl, but its not a book with a permenant binding.

sos i buy digital and then pirate the manga to read on a normal app.

mangapill or mangakalot since you cam scrape them easier.

my scan groups havent uploaded anything to Mdex since it went down, they just dump on an always changing mega address.
Mangafreak is faster with updating.
