Going region free is both a blessing and a curse with how much it opens up your options, lots of great region b releases that are a lot cheaper than their region a counterparts. Picked up the region b Blue exorcist for around 30 bucks which is a major steal compared to whatever Aniplex is charging for the region a.
Holy shit that sounds amazing.I remembered a manga with a fun twist on the isekai genre where the protagonist was a truck driver who's "holy task" was to isekai japanese schoolkids. If anyone remembers the name I'd like to know.
The credits list the rest of Franchouchou in the episode as 'Baby that looks like Lily' and so on, so I think they're just a fun visual gag. The police officer was the same as the present one too. I think that's the real Romero though.New episode of Zombieland Saga is great. I wondered if it's real or a film within the series, but the adorable pair of Saki and Lily as a small child means its for real. Wonder if the two episodes will be just backstory or it will be important for the finale. It's sad this will all end up badly for Yugiri
I'd love one of these companies to put out a blu-ray of nothing but anime trailers, but of obscure anime. Similar to the compilations of the b-movie/cult/exploitation/horror trailers that have been released. I'm sure it wouldn't happen due to securing the rights for them, but it'd be a cool idea.I mean, it seems like the on disc extras are typically just clean ending and opening with maybe some trailers at this point. Physical extras aren't that much better.
There's been a few domestic releases that have had some of the same extras as the Japanese blu-rays/dvds, but those are scarce. Stuff like CD soundtracks, audio dramas, booklets and the like tend to stay in Japan for fear of reverse importing. Some Japanese prefer buying the American releases since they have the entire show costing them $40 to $60 for the entire series instead of in volumes. Even trying to buy Japanese blu-rays and manga can be expensive even if you use one of those companies that buy your items and ship it to you via DHL or Fed Ex. You're right about the prices, though. Right Stuf sales are quite nice at the end of the year. The anime releases tend to have sporadic sales, but the big price cuts happen during the holidays.Goes to show then when ever I see people complaining about waiting price parity with japan there talking about manga (and I've been on of them) because no way in hell anyone would buy something at this price
Totally agree. I dunno what I expected for a Yugiri backstory episode, but this was just what was needed. Really glad it's a two-parter too.New episode of Zombieland Saga is great. I wondered if it's real or a film within the series, but the adorable pair of Saki and Lily as a small child means its for real. Damn, that's a pun only Japanese history buffs would have figured out.The credits list the rest of Franchouchou in the episode as 'Baby that looks like Lily' and so on, so I think they're just a fun visual gag. The police officer was the same as the present one too. I think that's the real Romero though.
My prediction is that the Xu Fu there passes his powers onto the Kotaro expy and the old barman we see in the modern day is him, which would explain his protectiveness over Yugiri
Also, awful pun alert
Zombieland Saga- it's a saga about a land with zombies. Or, Saga is a land with zombies.
Saga was also a region that 'died' and came back to life. Truly, it's a Zombie Land, Saga.
This past weekend a fire broke out at the home of mechanical designer Kazutaka Miyatake. The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Miyatake survived and was hospitalized, but his wife, 60-year-old Tomoko Watanabe, unfortunately died.
Miyatake remains in the hospital as of the news report, but is not in danger of death.
The 71-year-old has a long list of mechanical design work. You can see his designs in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross show and The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? movie, as well as Space Battleship Yamato, Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Aura Battler Dunbine, The Super Dimension Century Orguss, Gunbuster. In addition, he did conceptional and artistic design for Macross Frontier, Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa, Eureka Seven, Star Blazers 2199, and RahXephon.

Yeah it's a pretty funny dub, but I've been reading manga version, which is having the complete franchise being storytimed on /a/ and it was such an odd mood switch for me. Jaden has a more serious attitude, Chazz is no longer a joke and treated 100% seriously among other things. It's pretty short though at 8 volumes, so a lot the characters don't get a lot development and it speeds towards the ending because it was clearly getting the ax for 5D's. Still has some cool moments though.CHAZZ
IT
UP!
CHAZZ IT UP!
I need to do a proper rewatching of Yugioh GX in sub tbh but the damn dub keeps bringing my ass back for the script alone.
I suspect smoke inhalation.Wonder how strong that fire was for it to have his own wife die. Hopefully, he can find peace and not let it destroy his mind.
you can't compare it 1:1, that would be like comparing US prices to EU, when US doesn't usually list taxes. there's also regional spending power, russian games are dirt cheap compared to the rest.Goes to show then when ever I see people complaining about waiting price parity with japan there talking about manga (and I've been on of them) because no way in hell anyone would buy something at this price
This might be something I just don’t get, but what’s the point of buying Blu-Rays anyways? Especially when they’re that obscenely expensive? If it’s about convenience or preservation, then pirating and sticking them on a local media server through Plex or Kodi is the much better option because you’re not limited by what’s on the disk and can use fan subs if that’s your preference.Yeah Rightstuf is really only good for buying stuff on your backlog. I know you can kinda get a lower price by keeping stuff in your cart for a day or two and they will give you a discount, but I think its only 5-10% off.
Honestly the sites own worth using for their bi yearly sales and some weekly ones, but I'm mainly a manga buyer so I don't know to much about dvds and blu-rays prices.
Although 70 bucks still is a lot cheaper then what its like in japan. Looking at the amazon.jp page the retail price for the normal volumes are 143,00 yen (~130 usd), and each volume only has 4 episodes.

Funny enough, what actually made me interested in watching anime was reading manga from the popular entry anime(s) for the first time. Now, I’m seeing more people wanting to get into the manga reading hobby since they were originally comic book readers that didn’t know that much about anime to begin with.Weebs ruined anime.
I remember being a little tardlet, stumbling across the world of these big-eye cartoons, and really fucking liking it. It was a privilege to find some random fucking show with titles like "X SHOW EP 1 ENG DUB ESP SUB PART TWO OF THREE" on YouTube and learning how to actually get the damn shows, and then mainstream streaming sites got involved and it was great. You could watch 1080p animes for cheap, but then the fucking weebs got involved and kids got involved and it all just became for weebs rather than consumed by weebs.
At the end of the day, it's just a hobby. There's still good shit coming out, but there's just so little magic in it anymore for me.
I've been watching some 90's-2000's animes again, and it's changed so much since then that I feel like the kids now will never get that same magic of having to learn how to even get started with this garbage, and it's really odd to me.
I mean if the internet goes down and all you got an itch to watch something, poping a bluray in will do the truck I guess. This might be something I just don’t get, but what’s the point of buying Blu-Rays anyways? With manga, I’d say there’s some benefits to reading physically - at the very least, I personally prefer reading a physical book and I think it tends to make the art look nicer (something about the texture of the paper). But when storage space is so cheap and torrents are so easy to find - not to mention, setting up a home media server for local streaming is easier and more convenient than having to swap disks - is there any real point to buying Blu-rays outside of the collectibility?
