My boyfriend convinced me to watch the first episode yesterday. I don't know if I want to see more or not.I'm gonna just leave this here without any sort of context or explanation.

For those that were interested, the anime is called (brace yourself) “shimoneta to lu gainen ga sonzai shinai taikutsu na sekai” or “A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist”.I'm gonna just leave this here without any sort of context or explanation.

I recall one called "Listen to me girls, I am you father".I'll never understand why some anime shows have ridiculously long names.
"Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls Inside a Dungeon?"
"I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job"
"Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?"
"It's Not My Fault That I'm Not Popular!"
It doesn't mean the show's automatically terrible (after all, Watamote's great), but it's a bit off a turn off when I have a hard time figuring out how to abbreviate the show
...dick lasagna?Funny stuff going on in the Free! fandom right now.
Ever since the voice cast was announced for the Funimation dub of the second season, many fans were stoked and couldn't wait for the dub to make its debut. Now that it's out, however, there's been a huge backlash. Apparently Funi pulled a 4kids and completely rewrote the dialogue, having the characters constantly call each other "bro" and "man", in addition to Americanizing phrases and foods. Ex: "Douchebag", "Daddy's gotta get his freak on" and "dick lasagna." It seems like they tried really, really hard to nail it in that none of the guys are or could be gay, which the yaoi-loving fandom isn't taking very well either. Though to be fair, a bunch of fans are actually just laughing at how bad it is and have made memes out of the ridiculous script changes, which I can't say aren't well-deserved.
Anyway, as someone who was never excited about the dub in the first place, I think the shitstorm is hilarious. It's like the DiC dub of Sailor Moon all over again.
I'm just as confused as you are. Apparently they also used "swol" and "awesome sauce."...dick lasagna?
Freaking out over Vic Mignogna being in a dub is ridiculous. He's a mediocre voice actor, but he's gonna be in there 95% of the time. He's apparently pretty shitty as a person, though.Didn't the fandom also freak out when Vic Mignogna was announced to voice a character? Because he said some controversial things in the past?
It was because he refused to sign some yaoi fan art. Being religious, Vic has made it clear that he's uncomfortable with homosexuality to an extent, but doesn't have anything against people who are gay. So when Free! fans found out that he was officially cast, they went berserk.Didn't the fandom also freak out when Vic Mignogna was announced to voice a character? Yeah, I've heard mixed stories about him being kind of a dick. He seemed alright when I saw him at a con one time - apparently he's also a major Trekkie. I'm not real fond of his voice acting, though, probably because he's overused. I do think it's kind of ironic that he keeps getting cast as major yaoibait characters. It was because he refused to sign some yaoi fan art. Their outrage is nothing short of childish. The fandom took to calling him names like "Vic Meningitis" and started a petition to have him be replaced. As I've already alluded, Free! is NOT yaoi. There is arguably some homoerotic subtext, but none of the male characters have been confirmed to be gay. Nevertheless, the fandom, being as stubbornly deluded as they are, accuse Vic of being a homophobic piece of shit who has no right to be the dub voice of their beloved shark boy.
As for Vic actually being a bad person, I've done some research, and from what I can tell most of that is just rumors. There's a Tumblr blog dedicated to people submitting bad run-ins they've had with him, and all of the claims of sexual harassment (which there were quite a few of) sounded like pure-grade bullshit. He's no saint, obviously, but I've also heard and seen plenty of accounts of Vic being a total sweetheart.
tl;dr: Vic's religious and therefore isn't very find of homosexuality, so the yaoi-loving Free! fans want his blood.

also is Guts finally off the boat yet? I'm not reading the boat arc until I can kill it all over a few days and not suffer years of waiting.
I think I saw a gif where Rin replies with "Yeah, I'm a bottom bunk guy." Either the innuendo here was overlooked, or Funimation didn't make an attempt to remove every gay subtext after all.How did they dub this line?

But I need to see some of the most off-model animation in the genre in 1080p.I'd read it.
Also, Sunrise confirmed Episode 15 of Mobile Suit Gundam will not be on the set, due to it being "Not available".
