I'd get into Fate since the battles look good but it sounds like such a hassle. So many different versions of the story and apparently some don't adapt the story completely or correctly. Even the source VN has multiple versions with content removed or added.
Same boat as you honestly, the order most fans go with is:

Fate/Zero
Fate/Unlimited Blade Works
The Heaven's Feel movies

That's the order I'm sticking with when I eventually watch it anyway, everything else is either a spin off or alternate timeline setting that's just a bonus if you like the mainline series.

This month is special (for me personally) since I think this month marks almost two and half decades since I found out about Dragon Ball Z for the first time. It’s also funny that my avatar has been changed to the Dragon Ball Super version of Goku when he turned into his Ultimate Instinct version when he was getting ready to fight Jiren. And that series, to me, was probably the weakest DB anime out of the series.

I’m thinking about celebrating this month with buying the VIZBIG omnibus versions of Dragon Ball and DBZ that were made back in the mid-2000’s. Here‘s to hoping they don’t sell out.

I usually wait for B&N to do sales. Buy 2 get 1 free. They're the best for buying the big editions, I own a few of them and they're really nice. If your in the US it's bout $20 a piece.

There are so many good fate characters and I get him
Shirou is best boy. Shame on you.

If you want the whole thing, play the VN that adds the realta nua stuff. The porn is your choice(Nasu should've just had a then they had sex summary, the weird replacement scenes just don't fit). Just watch UFO if you want a condensed version of things, though their HF was shit(the route itself had a lot of problems but still).

Ignore FGO and anything not written by Nasu. It's basically just fanfiction and boy does it fucking feel like it. Melty Blood is fun to play though if animu fighters are your thing.

Fate Zero mostly stands on its own and can be enjoyed completely independently of the other adaptations. Makes sense because it’s an anime original that isn’t trying to condense hundreds of hours of VN content into 24 episodes.

Unlimited Blade Works NEEDS to be watched with the understanding that it’s only adapting one part of a visual novel. On its own, there’s a bunch of characters that feel like they’re completely wasted because their story is in another part. Despite what my screen name might suggest I actually didn’t like it that much for this reason, because I prefer my stories to be self-contained and not require knowledge of the source material for complete enjoyment. As-is, it just feels incomplete, because it kinda is.

Haven’t watched Heaven’s Feel so I won’t bother commenting on it, except that my friend who’s actually a fate fan has said that the movies were very much made “for the fans”, in that they’re not aiming for mass appeal. But these three series are pretty much the only “required reading” for the franchise. Everything else is just shitty spin-offs of no value to the average anime watcher.

I am happy with my selection

F/Z was an LN series before it was an anime. It has its own issues, like the "two dudes walk in circles around a guy sitting in a chair while expositing for way too long" bit.

I ignore every single Anime that has a Western writing team or director. Cause it will inevitably have that or suck ass now.

That is the case here. So, I will probably ignore this
Castlevania was alright in spite of the major pacing problems
everyone bitching about the literal vampire twink taking dick while he was having titties atop himself was hilarious

I want to like stuff like this but its just emblematic of western businesses growing influence in the anime industry, which is sad to see. id be shocked if japan allows corporate liberalism to encroach on their culture so blatantly but I wouldn't rule it out.
I do not think they have influence. This is all written and directed by westerners as far as I know. The only thing that is Japanese is the animators and character designers. Who were paid by Netflix to do it.

Which is nothing new.

That being said, it is also a fear of mine lol

Castlevania is fun but schlocky, the characters and action make up any lackluster storytelling. Not sure if there's going to be a season 4 but I liked 3 a lot.

I remember some people years ago arguing the Deen adaptation was the best series to get someone into fate.
I'm pretty sure they where just trying to trick people to watch a bad show. But I'll kinda admit deen/stay night had a pretty good OST and OPs
