The German simulcast of "Redo of Healer" has been cancelled.

Translation: TOO CRASS for simulcast, but NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER ON DISC! Since REDO OF HEALER is just TOO HOT for our simulcast partners, there will be no simulcast for the time being. But here you can already get Vol.1 in the Limited Uncut Edition.

Of course ANN didn't report on it (yet) or explain that it's still being released on blu-ray. She just mentioned it on twitter:

Episode two, in its censored version, is hilariously over the top. The AT-X version will be interesting.

Also 30 years old this year, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, the first Gundam production I ever saw (at a comic book convention in Montreal in August 1994). It probably wasn't the best OVA for a total Gundam newbie due to how it expects you to understand the extensive references to the One Year War but it was well-animated and had great music.

It had the best unique couple in my opinion

By the way did you ever check out the manga reboot Gundam 0083 Rebellion from 2013?

>licensed german weebshit
even that few twitter lines gave me hard second hand embarrassment, and media is overpriced so hard might as well import directly for the swag.

I'm late to the party but started watching Demon Slayer.

I can't see it as the anime of the decade the faggots were saying on social media, but I can say the setting and the fucking music are fantastic.

Go Shiina is one of my fav composers since Tales of games, so seeing him pretty much do the majority of this anime has been a wet dream.

No, I haven't read any Gundam manga besides about half of École du Ciel, which I read mainly out of curiousity about how it depicts Montreal.

(I think I already did this once in the Gundam thread.) Montreal is depicted as a city with just a bunch of pine trees and a futuristic school, compared to the cities on the space colonies which are depicted using manga-filtered reference photos of some real world city. Having forests with just pine trees isn't even accurate for Montreal, which has mixed deciduous and coniferous trees with deciduous dominating, hence why Mount Royal is a beautiful patchwork of red, yellow, orange, and green in the autumn.

The one real world location where I speculate the school could be would be around the former Montreal International Airport in Mirabel, around 39km northwest of downtown Montreal proper, since they do their ground training in hilly areas which would match the Laurentian foothills which start just north of Mirabel airport,

Any interesting anime this season? I've been playing it safe with the wholesome shows.
It wholly depends on what your preferred genre is. I don't follow a ton of shows every season so can only really speak to the 2 shows that I've started so far.

Re:Zero's 2nd season is continuing, though if you haven't seen any of the show up to this point then you'll be completely lost. It's a good change up to the traditional isekai because the character isn't some all powerful hero meant to save the world. He's just a normal dude in a fantasy world.

Log Horizon S3 started this season, and I think S2 ended in 2015? It has a returning cast and, for better or worse depending on your taste, the animation looks identical to S2. This is another of a doozy to jump into if you haven't watched the first 2 seasons though, as there is 50 episodes before S3 starts. It's another isekai, but does a really good job of playing into the fact that the characters are in a game, and doesn't forget it immediately like some isekais do.

I'm waiting for multiple ReZero episodes because the pacing of this arc is fucking abysmal. I usually prefer to look at new shows rather than continuations.

As an adaption Otherside Picnic is honestly pretty bad so far, but if you look at it as a comfy Scooby Doo ft. lesbians and old creepypastas its pretty endearing. They really fucked over it being scary though.
Wonder Egg Priority is also looking interesting, though its an anime original so it might all turn to shit. It's also very on the nose about its "anti-bullying" message, but the visuals are quite nice.
Ex-Arms and the new Gohands production, Praeter no Kizu, are both so terrible that they're worth checking out, the latter is incredibly tryhard and the visuals will give you a headache.

You mean you don't like being left on a cliffhanger EVERY. FUCKING. EPISODE?

If you didn't catch it last season Majo No TabiTabi is beautifully animated and takes some darker turns in some of the episodes.

So does Spider Girl Isekai ever adequately address why her bubbly optimistic personality (at least when she's talking to herself) is so at odds with her backstory of bullied friendless wallflower near-hikikomori girl? That aspect of the anime really grinds my gears and I'd be happier if there was some explanation.

Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?

The manga for this is turning 10 years old this year, and plus they’re having an art gallery in its honor this Spring.

I can’t wait to watch this anime for the main reason that this is Kiniro Mosaic but for people who love rabbits.

And cats,

Definitely cats. :smug:

I usually wait on watching the anime social media creams their pants to. Helps to level expectations and hopefully if I like it there's more out when I'm caught up

I've read the manga and it's not really explained. I figured the idea was that she's happy at the chance of starting over in a video game world. Plus, we don't really see her thoughts in the 'normal' world, so it's possible she was the same on the inside when she was by herself.

Elaina was a groove and really calls back to that early 2000's LN adaptation style of stuff like Kino no Tabi, wish that got a proper sequel very unlike that 2017 reboot.

I don't remember rabbits nor cats being all that important in the anime, but then again I don't remember anything about it. And I really liked Kiniro Mosaic, so I don't mind CGDCT shows in the slightest, but I didn't think Is This Order a Rabbit? was anything special.

As for F91 it's amazing for the half hour or so, maybe the best depiction of a colony attack in the series, and from then on it becomes more and more noticeable that you're watching a recap movie for a series that doesn't exist. I'm not sure everyone involved agreed on what the story was supposed to be either, it gets more erratic as it goes on, especially the writing for the villains. The battles are amazing though, some of the best 2D mecha animation ever made is in parts of this movie, and you can at least get an idea of what the series could have been even with all the obvious gaps. There's a number of moments that will make you go "oh I could see this being a full plotline in a 50 episode series". If you're curious and want to see more of late UC it's definitely worth watching, just keep in mind: it's basically a recap movie with no source material, and it was meant to have a sequel. Also the mobile suits are all smaller now took some getting used to.
This. The writing is vintage Tomino and you get tantalizing glimpses at what would've been a really cool entry in the franchise. Like you can almost see the sort of episodes that would've been in the show and the character development that would've happened (especially with Seabook's friends).
I'm honestly hoping that Sunrise gets more into exploring late UC because I'm getting a bit tired of the Feds versus whatever Neo Zeon remnant. They keep making mentions to the "dark times" of late UC with the Newtype hunts, cannibalism, and everything leading up to Turn A that all sounds interesting. I'd just love for it to get weird, still waiting for that Crossbone anime.
Same. Even if I have a lot of mixed thoughts on Unicorn and think the sequels are trash, I liked how they used mobile suits from Zeta and ZZ (yes, I know it was to sell more models but from an in-universe perspective it makes sense). All the Late UC stuff I've read/seen only used touched-up versions of CCA stuff like Jegans and the various ships from there (IIRC the Crossbone Gundam manga has some CCA Neo-Zeon mobile suits) except for F90 which had those weird modified versions of One Year War Zeon suits/armor. Victory was especially weird like this since the Federation had Zeta-era warships. It's like the Federation never designed a single new warship in the 60 years between Char's Counterattack and Victory. Feddies need more Titans stuff IMO too.

Speaking of Late UC, I'd love to see a Victory prequel given the background conflict is the Federation collapsing and the colonies fighting a massive civil war. It also ties right into Crossbone Gundam since the Zanscare Empire is basically some evil bastards from the Jupiter Empire manipulating a cult in order to take over Earth. It's too bad Victory didn't go into more detail on that and references are pretty cryptic.
As for everything shrinking in size as the timeline continues it always made sense to me since tech shrinking as it evolves is a pretty common thing even nowadays. What I do find a real pain is that the model kits for all those late UC suits are always a pain to put together with how small they are at 1/144 scale, that's if they even got a kit at all.
It's also a plot point where the smaller, more compact mobile suits helps the Crossbone Vanguard trash the Federation in the early part of the movie.

Truthfully, I wish Sunrise would go and make another original mecha show like Valvrave or Cross Ange again, rather than constantly churning out Gundam.

Sure, their originals tend to be trashy trainwrecks, but that's exactly why I find them so entertaining. When they aren't constricted by the Gundan license, they can just go all out insane, which is something I really like about the studio when they go all balls to the wall.
