Didn't they announce Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, and some other stuff over a year ago? Whatever happened to those?

According to Wikipedia, production on Cowboy Bebop was first delayed in November 2019 due to John Cho's knee injury. It was then delayed by COVID-19, though New Zealand gave the green light for productions to resume filming at the end of September.

They still haven't started production on One Piece.

I watching Clannad for the first time and just finished episode 7. It's so stupid, and I knew it wouldn't be nearly the "dramatic tearjerker" that alot of people gushing over it say it is when I started. I'm not about to go into why as it's probably going to be explained away later and much of it is just the anime style of the time (art style, humor etc.). I'll keep watching, but I might skip After Story if I don't feel up to going through the same shit twice.

AS is where the tear-jerker stuff kicks in.

Okay I just gotta ask....

Ace Attorney. Yay or nay?
I've heard incredibly divisive reviews. Like really REALLY split.

I have played the original series. So...
Late, but the first season is trash due to heavily condensing the first two games and making some of the best moments less cool along with cutting out many things. The only case they covered well was Turnabout Big Top which is actually better than the game's.

Second season is better as most of the entire season is devoted to Trials and Tribulations with even a brand new anime original (filler) case as well which shakes things up.

Clannad is a relatively light-hearted SoL anime. Clannad After Story is where shit starts getting real.

Netflix has decided to ruin another series that you love!

You have to get through the first season to really get the full effect and see why people praise the series so much. I still had the feels during the first season, personally, but I understand it's a rough time getting through for first-timers (even long-time fans). Fuko's route being the first arc in the anime probably wasn't the best choice to start off the adaptation, but in context of the visual novel (and you'll see it later on throughout the season), it's the catalyst for cute Easter eggs that pop up in some routes after getting her happy end. KyoAni incorporating that I think just shows how much they loved the source material. Kotomi's route happens after Fuko, and it's better. It gets better.

CLANNAD -After Story- rewards the viewer for putting up with the rather harsh ups-and-downs in the roller coaster of life, but you have to get a good understanding of who the characters are to get to the real meat of the series. As a testament of how unique the series is, my mother, a non-anime watcher who really despises the idea of anime and has rather shitty taste in media to begin with, watched the series--twice. Her rewatch was a request. Even my grandparents watched it, with Grandma saying she saw herself most in Nagisa (which is strange since she has more of a Tomoyo personality).

I figure that most anime series get good after a while and you get used to it's kinks. Good to know that I have something to look forward to later in the series. Episode 8 seems to be signaling that I already passed the biggest hurdle.

I don't remember episode numbers all that well, but Fuko's arc was probably my least favorite part. Kotomi's arc ends on a bit of a contrivance, but one that still hammers the feels button real good.

Gundam ZZ a bloo bloo bloo
lol filtered
if you can't appreciate the robot fights and space settings then you don't deserve UC Gundam
go back to IBO
that has guys fucking little boys, maybe that's more your speed
I think there's a Lensman anime.
movie and tv, iirc tv is incomplete but some is up in equal amounts fansubbed and raw, movie up in standard def at least dub and sub

unrelated Akudama Drive remains pretty great

Am I wrong for thinking shows like Futurama, King of the Hill and The Simpsons are better then most of the stuff posted in this thread? I know that technically what you mean by this thread is jap shit but is there no merit to things like Loony Tunes and Scooby Doo? Also is Western animation a popular thing in Japanese culture?
