I've found Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! to be pretty enjoyable. There is a shit ton of fanservice but Uzaki never feels annoying. I'd say it's sort of a mix between Blend S and Umaru Chan if those were shows you liked, only this show is about college students so it lets itself be more blunt with things.

Studio Arms (changed to Common Sense in 2017) has declared bankruptcy.
They produced mostly hentai and ecchi/fanservice shows which tend to be pretty trashy, but at the same time, they still made a name for themselves with titles like Kite, Elfen Lied, and Ikkitousen. So it's rather unfortunate.

Nube is a great show. If you've never heard of it, it's a monster-of-the-week show held up by its great cast of characters and sense of humor. The premise is fairly simple: Nube sealed a demon in his left hand that he uses to fight yokai and spirits that haunt his classroom, but he's still somewhat of a goofball, especially when it comes to his fellow teacher Ritsuko that he has the hots for. You get a lot of exposure to Japanese folklore as you watch the series, so it's a great way to learn about all their different ghost stories. It's mostly lighthearted, but it knows when to take itself seriously, and it has a lot of cool fights along the way. Highly recommend it.
I'm kinda surprised it never got a dub, it seems like the sort of thing that would have played well on Toonami back in the day.

Voice actors jealously guarding their little fiefdoms, the thing about dubs is that for awhile, they were bad to indifferent to OK for most of the previous decades, then there was an uptick in quality in the 90s and Aughts, and nowadays no one is excited to hear the same three professional VAs doing the same two voices for every character like they have the past decade. It felt like there used to he actual effort and care in making a dub, and now they mostly, with increasingly few exceptions, have weak acting and script rewrites to fit current narratives like those hamhanded references to Gamergate and what have you.

What are good series about sports, and by that I mean actual sports and not the bullshit magical soccer they call Inazuma Eleven, or bullshit fake sports like ping pong, lacrosse, or figure skating? [I kid, of course, I'm sure there's awesome series about any of these, but I would rather watch something either fun or amusing.]

Haikyuu (volleyball), Slam Dunk (basketball) and Ace of Diamond (baseball) are the standard recomendations. If you want adults, then there's Run with the Wind (track) though I've heard that that one's sort of gay. There's also Giant Killing (soccer), I'm reading that one right now. It's good.
If you change your mind about magical bs then I'd recommend Eyeshield 21 (american football).

Taisho Baseball Girls is pretty good if you don't mind the 1920s setting and a lot of obvious shoujo-ai subtext.
Most people seem to be hung up on Senpai calling Nagatoro-san by her "first" (given) name, Hayase, while in a delirious fever dream state.
I'm more interested in whether or not Nagatoro-san actually called herself his cute wife or whether that was just part of the fever dream.
I think sempai is in a suggestible state due to being only semi-conscious so it's entirely possible that Nagatoro whispered into his ear a few suggestions about what their relationship would be like in the future, knowing he'd probably forget it anyway once he'd recovered. Or perhaps Nagatoro has reality-warping telepathic abilities like Emma Frost.

That series doesn't have literal aliens showing up to play a bunch of sports games to stop a planet from being eaten by a black hole, it's not nearly magical or bullshit enough to be unbearable.

Well you can blame Funimation for that, as they've been getting more and more titles dubbed under their roof. And Netflix seems to have taken a page from that playbook. Back in the 2000s, you had LA, Texas and the Canadian pools all coexisting with New York and the UK picking up the slack. Now it's just Funimation and LA. With only a few titles picked up and dubbed by Sentai or Ocean Group, with Toronto only really doing the Bakugan series.
I mean you got VAs who are furries, feminists and generally stupid people, and that's what the fanbase of anime usually gravitates toward. I wouldn't say all voice actors are stupid on social media- outside of Tara Strong and John DiMaggio, most cartoon VAs tend to try to keep their shit together on social media (and most of their polititard sperging reads more as bandwagon hopping than anything half the time), and I don't know how many of the Anime VA vets actually have a social media account to begin with. But the ones I've seen, when they act like dumbasses, they definitely act like dumbasses. Kind of sad we can't just have a voice actor lolcow general when stuff like this is being posted daily.
