Do you want to talk about a certain manga on the farms for some reason that does not have a specific thread, did something interesting happen in the manga you read this week , Well then this is the thread for that.

There was already a general anime/manga thread that's existed since 2013, it was even on the first page of the multimedia section when you made your topic, so it was far from dead. As such I merged your "Shonen Jump but actually just any anime/manga without a dedicated thread" topic with it.

....I'm still watching Bleach and reading it. I have heard of the newer SJ titles and I'm thinking of expanding into My Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul and continuing watching/reading Attack on Titan.

Servant X Service was recommended a few pages back for slice of life comedy and it fits the bill well. In fact, it's actually made by the same creator who made Working!! and just moves the location to a government department. Sucks that it's only 13 episodes but it's an enjoyable binge.

do you know what Shonen Jump is? it's a magazine for little jap boys.
It really doesn't need its own thread due to it featuring so many different genres.

Kimagure Orange Road was a Shōnen Jump title and I wouldn't say that one was aimed at little boys. I wouldn't claim that KOR was an adult title either, but I think it was aimed primarily at a cross-gender older teen demographic. Granted, Kimagure Orange Road was published starting over three and a half decades ago and may not be the sort of thing Shōnen Jump would necessarily print today when there are a multitude of other platforms, print and online, for which an adolescent romantic psychic comedy might be better suited.

I used to get monthly Shounen Jump manga bask in 2003/2004. Unfortunately I never renewed the subscription for it. It was until years later when I saw it in my local libraries that they had monthly manga dating back to 2007-2011.

As far as my favorites, it probably had to be a mix between YuYu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King.

I haven’t seen the show since it was on tv, but I still remember the 4Kids! theme for Shaman King.

shaman king as a manga was weird. the first print had a cop-out ending that completely skipped the final conflict and resolution of the story and goes straight to epilogue. then when the series was reprinted as three-volume "wide-ban" editions, the final volume had at least two regular size volumes worth of extra chapters actually detailing what was missing. I've never heard of a manga author going back and giving their series a real ending like that after it initially rushed skipped or otherwise fucked it up. seeing hao's mom slap him and chew him out like a little brat was priceless. it a ridiculous way to defeat a final villain but it works so well for the character. and we still got a big fuckoff final fight with him directly before that happens so you get your cake and eat it too.

think about it, so the big bad is now immeasurably powerful beyond anything you could hope to overcome right? a literal god. he just killed you, all your friends, and his own comrades, and you're in the afterlife. he did this all because he's pissed off about his mom getting killed forever ago by someone you had nothing to do with. so what do you do? hold him off just long enough to have your spirit medium girlfriend tattle to his dead fucking mom and watch as his subordinates laugh at him while he's getting berated by her. then he admits he was wrong and revives the people he just killed.

god I hope attack on titan ends like that. the final chapter is just 45 straight pages of carla telling eren he's a dumbass.

Aside from BNA, anyone got any anime to recommend? I'm wondering what shows are worth watching right now? I recently rewatched Evangelion for the 3/4th time (unsure) and I haven't followed recent anime in a while.

Just anime and not manga?

Animewise

Otome game villainess has been fun, Scientific railgun T, toilet bound Hanako, Tower of God, VE got a movie. Lot's of stuff pre-covid.

I'm so jealous of you. I'm watching the first "Fate" adaptation and was recommended "Babylonia" recently off-site (well, a roleplaying site)
Babylonia is pretty good if you're invested into gilgamesh as a character. If you're watching the 2006 Deen adaptation I wouldn't reccomend it. They didnt know if Fate was gonna get 3 adaptations so they just threw in elements from all 3 routes. I'd reccomend you watch Unlimited Blade Works (2015), or read the VN for the Fate route in particular.

I indeed do like Gil, so I will watch immediately.
It is the 2006 adaptation;guess I'll have to drop it. not the first time DEEN fucks up when it comes to visual novel adaptations...Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. oh MAN. :(

I read Goodnight PunPun and I wanna die.
Yuuichi did nothing wrong. Give Subarashii Sekai (not to be confused with Konosuba) a read sometime, it's a fun batch of short stories (and far less depressing).

How bad is it? I personally dropped the Haruhi manga on sight.
I assume he means how he felt after finishing. When it comes to misery porn in the genre, PunPun is definitely near the top.

I will throw this in, the Deen animation is the worst compared to the others.

Fate has gotten allot of adaptations.

Watching guide. Do not start with Fate UBW.

Fate Zero.

The nasuverse works on multiverse theory. Zero is the first. From there UBW by UFOtable as its finished, be careful there's an awful movie by DEEN. It sucks, do not watch it! Then HF 1, 2, 3, three was supposed to be out but, y'know. The DEEN anime is actually not nearly as bad as say a certain adaptation of Tsukihime that does not exist and if you like everything else, meh, maybe you'll like it.

From there you have the larger Fateverse

Extra. Beautifully animated by Shaft, a gorgeous mess that will leave you in rage if you liked the game series. Still worth watching.

Apocrypha. The glorious divisive one. I like Apocrypha, other people loathe it. It's set in an alternate universe where instead of summoning an avenger, the Einzberns summoned a Ruler.

Illya Prisma. You'll be turned off by the look. Don't be. The series is solid and Oath in Snow alone is worth giving a look see. Some Yuri crap, but that's what the scroll function is for.

FGO. There is a movie, watch that first. Camelot is supposed to have been released. Babylonia.

Odds and ends.

Emiya Kun, Carnival Phantasm. Sub only, but absolutely fan service goodness.
