I finished binging the Dorohedoro manga. It's fucking fantastic though it takes way too long to events to progress once the Department Store appears that the manga feels padded out. It also makes me really dislike the Netflix adaption with how they fucked up the fanservice which is grade A in the manga.

How did they fuck it up? The fanservice?

The proportions of the female bodies are all wrong. Way too manly looking. I don't care for muscle on women but boobs shouldn't start fusing with musculature.

Yeah, the biggest (no pun intended) difference in the Manga and the adaptation is Nikaido looks WAY hotter in the manga. Noi does too and is way more feminine. And I like musclegirls. I'm also surprised at the style of the manga, in that it is way more Western than I thought it would be. But for how grungy it is, it isn't surprising.

It might also be because Dorohedro is completely CGI instead of traditional animation. So that might have something to do with it as well.

Also, I'll one up you in the fan service department:

I'm not spoiling anything since this event is from the second volume and doesn't happen in the Netflix series. But uh, yeah. Manga, way hotter.

ID: invaded did not disappoint. I kind of want more but I'm not sure if it needs more, kinda like psycho pass.

Man, talk about a slide, I don't know if any series except Tokyo Ghoul slid as much as Psycho pass has from season 1.

I don't feel like they fucked it up at all. CG was off-putting, but I like all kinds of broads. It may be I was just happy to get a solid release.

Dubs are more or less crippled and subs are limping along. Its ridiculous. Still missing anything fate related. HF and Camelot delayed, sub fans got Babylonia but dub fans are going blue balled.

JoJo's stopped and started as has Railgun, which sucks considering Index 3 had a rough landing.

Really sucks since they do some good work.

First anime movie I can honestly say makes me hate the media and the allies of it way more.View attachment 1355894

Reminds me of Berserk

The worst part of berserk is how casual weebs will try to recommend it to everyone as if its an entry level anime. Its got tons of filler, still isn't finished, and is a major mindfuck, which I admit to loving the eclipse but still.

Lol we have another Gainax situation on our hands. :story:

Gainax was a series of money scandals in succession tied to the top. This doesn't sound like that. But boy they really could use that third heavens feel box office right now.

Will this affect the Infinity Train arc movie?

Depends on what stage its in.

The one thing that stops me from taking on that colossal story is that it isn't finished. I am not going through the blue balls of yet another fucked ending nor am I interested in catching up and joining those poor souls who pay for this manga with their lifespan.

Seriously? Of all the animated movies out there, this is the first one that made you hate the medium...how? Hek, I don't even understand how you can hate the medium in general. It's just cgi/cell animation. What's wrong with that?

Didn't watch the movie (yet) but I'm pretty sure they meant the media (journalists) not the medium, unless I'm retarded.

Oh...my bad. That makes more sense than what I was thinking. Then again, I think mentioning Berserk threw me off.

Finally. I've been waiting for Undead Unluck's current arc to end, considering that I think it will be indicative of how the rest of the series will play out in format. For those who want a SCP-style story (without everything currently describing SCP at the moment) written by someone heavily inspired by HxH, here you go.

When anime localization outfits first began popping up in the 80s and 90s, they seemed to have a theory that anything emphasizing futuristic computer technology and dystopian societies would sell well in the States, on account to similarities with Western science fiction. The anime industry has changed a lot since then, but the success of Hollywood’s Ghost In The Shell and Battle Angel Alita adaptations has finally made cyberpunk anime as popular in the West as those early localization teams always expected.

Last week we asked readers to respond to a poll asking for their favorite anime series and films in the cyberpunk genre. With over 575 replies spread across 70 titles, we compiled the results into a ranked list of the top 10 most popular cyberpunk anime. The results are as follows:

Paprika
10) Paprika (8 votes)
Armitage III
9) Armitage III (12 votes)
Ergo Proxy
8) Ergo Proxy (14 votes)
Summer Wars
7) Summer Wars (16 votes)
Battle Angel Alita
6) Battle Angel Alita (20 votes)
Serial Experiments ain
5) Serial Experiments Lain (27 votes)
Psycho-pass
4) Psycho-pass (35 votes)
Akira
3) Akira (65 votes)
Bubblegum Crisis
2) Bubblegum Crisis (66 votes)
Ghost In The Shell
1) Ghost In The Shell (167 votes)

Maybe the biggest surprise in these results is that despite the seemingly-huge legacy hype surrounding Akira, it fell into third place under Bubblegum Crisis, which hasn’t seemed to have more than a small cult following in the States. Along the same lines, it’s impressive that a seemingly-minor hit like Armitage III is still fondly remembered in a medium where so many new shows launch every season.

Are you surprised by anything that topped this list? Was anything left out that you feel deserves to be more popular? Let us know in the comments!
