Anyone else finding GiTS SAC 2045 hot garbage?

I mean, the writing's there, sure, but fuck me. The CGI's eye bleedingly awful and every last fucking scene feels half finished. You get your main characters in a scene and all the living, breathing detail feeling from previous GiTs entries are just off into the fucking void.

I'm waiting for the entire dub to be finished since they got everyone that they possibly could (or 100%) back, but it's on hold over the Wu Flu. If the writing's like in the previous S.A.C. seasons, then I can overlook the art.

that's got the tracing guy on it, right?

I think we might have another delay due to the wu flu.
Back in 2017 it was announced that the green light had been given for an anime adaption of Pluto, an Astro boy re-imagining by the same mangaka who made Monster, 20th Century Boys, Billy Bat, etc. with an estimate production schedule of 3 years.

Problem is there's been little to no new news ever since aside from a cam rip of a PV from the same event that announced last year.
I highly suspect we would of gotten something this year. But said event got canceled and given how they didn't technically give a release date they might just sweep all news of delays under the rug until production can start again.

Well my dear Kiwis, it seems like a decent part of whatever's airing in Summer might be pushed back and whatever was supposed to happen in the Fall season is just in limbo right now. Thx china

Pic related.

(Non Non Biyori Season 3 was originally announced for 2020.)

Today I found out that short manga about a yakuza loan shark bonding with the daughter of a woman that owes them money had a very short alternate ending where the girl goes to live with the guy.

And that's depending on whether or not those future shows aren't just cancelled outright.

I mean it's still too early to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few shows that just scrap production altogether.

In the case of The Promised Neverland, we were expected to have its second season in October 2020, but it has been postponed to January of 2021, so Fall season anime that is already in production will most probably be postponed to similar dates.

I'm still waiting to see what else is getting cancelled from this season, the fishing show was already delayed and I was looking forward to it. Bakarina anime was finished in advance so I at least have that to watch, but Fruits Basket and Priconne are still up in the air. It'll really suck if Priconne gets delayed since surprisingly its been my favorite of the season next to Fruits Basket. Looks like the next season or so is going to be backlog seasons.

Also if anyone missed the shitshow around Tamayomi's fourth episode: It looks like Funi released a very rough version of the fourth episode, it didn't even have a completed opening and ending which the first episode already had, where the Japanese release looked fine. Comparison between what got released in Japan (Top) and Funi (Bot)

Here's just a small selection of what it was like:

It also looks hilarious in motion because none of it looks right.

Legit question, how is it financially feasible to animate the same shot twice? Thats obviously not a touch up but a complete redraw, only a few of the bodies are the same drawing, wouldn't you want to correct those drawings before they were colored and animated fully?

Is this just a "send it back to south korea an indefinite amount of times until it comes back not abortion scrambled" type of problem?

Most likely the studio didn't get paid until their work got approved by client/producers and had to redo it until it was up to whatever standard they had. So they didn't need to pay to animate it twice and were only paid the finished product. Probably whatever Korean studio animated it sent that in and got a "Are you kidding me?" back from the Japanese studio with an order to fix it if they wanted to get paid.

This is going off what I know from western animation work in similar situations, but it might be different depending on how they do outsourcing in Japan. Like if they are being paid per second of animation or something similar, which is more the norm for cheaper animation rather than salary pay.

I'd guess it goes through few drafts that gets progressively better animated and gets OKed for the next iteration, probably involving the junior staff being told to do the animation in an unreasonable amount of time while being high on caffeine.

just watched angel's egg. that was a trip. things started out weird and then that noah speech started and things got even weirder. A+ 9/10 it was good. I wanna use half the frames from the movie as wallpapers.

After finishing up my second read of firepunch i still dont know if its the most kino or the most exceptional manga i have ever read
I read the first chapter and got hooked but then I immediately got spoiled on the fact that apparently the guy who murdered MC"s whole village says he's sorry and the mc forgives him on the spot. stopped reading right there.
