Today's the birthday of my favorite Naruto character, Sakura Haruno! Here are her pixiv tags.
..."Favorite"?

Anyway, here's an isekai about Vladimir Putin trying to fulfill his piggyback fetish.

I read all 12 chapters of this, I love it. It's unironically great in terms of art & story. A piece of clothing has more lore than multiple Isekais have in their whole world building.

Sadly the translation team has dropped it due to it getting a physical release, which has double digit cost. I hope someone on 4chan pics it up.

Okay, so I had a discussion about Usopp and his nose: would Usopp nosefuck someone while eating out their ass or vice versa. I think it makes more sense for Usopp to nosefuck someone.

The first season of the Dorohedoro anime adaptation has just concluded and I'm already thirsting for another season. Since it might be a while until (or if) we get season 2, I highly recommend reading the manga in the spare time that Corona-chan gifted you.

Stop reading fan fiction on AO3, Jesus Christ.

I take it being stuck inside for so long hasn’t been going well for you, huh?

This was a pretty awesome anime season overall. I'll might write more about every show I watched if I get bored enough. Next season we have more Kaguya, Kakushigoto (why not by Shaft?), Trigger furries, more Jashin, Appare-Ranman! that might be good and Re-Zero (if it will end up not delayed).
Also need to start reading Dorohedoro manga...

Re:Zero got delayed until July, didn't it? I thought that was a sure thing. Is there still a chance it'll air?

I'd also throw in Wave, Listen to Me! The manga is pretty funny.

For the past few years, I've been slowing down on watching modern anime to focus more on the old shows I'm missing out on. Sometimes, I even wonder just what is even great about modern anime these days, since they're not always that original, and even if they are, they don't really reach their full potential. It happened too many times that I've been thinking about giving up on newer anime.

Moments like this is what helps to remind me why I love anime, and why it is I'm excited (but cautious) about its future.

I only just heard about Zenonzard today, and that it appears to be a card game kind of like Yu-Gi-Oh with Magic The Gathering elements. I don't have the means to download it and see for myself, so I'm having to go off the anime and what I can find (but information's still scarce since it only came out months ago and is just now going international). But if this is how it often looks, I think I can get behind this one. The CGI models are pretty fantastic, I think it's helped that this is an ONA release, so they have more time to polish them, but also as a pilot, it needs to look good.

But I kinda have to lol that Sota has been holding himself back/has some self-doubt about how he plays the game. He freezes up when he realizes he's having fun playing and winning because as a kid, he was afraid to lose his friends since he was winning too much and they're a bunch of sore losers who were finding him "boring" for being good at the game. So imagine Yugi Moto about to summon Summoned Skull to deal the final blow, but then gets a flashback of his classmates (Joey especially) leaving part-way during a game and claiming he's boring to play with just because they were losing.

Eilietta I think has more going for her than she lets on as a Codeman, like Codemen are advanced AIs, but she apparently has a will of her own? I dunno, something's up about that. But I like how she looks and that she was stalking Sota like Slenderman in trying to get him to form a contract with her.

Oh, and there's a lot of techno and synth music during the battles, probably also Eurobeat (everything looks like a rave). It's pretty neat, actually.

So yeah. Anime still has its moments even in the modern age, it just takes a lot of digging around to find them.

Recently watched Seton Academy: Join the Pack.

It's degenerate shit like most harem anime, but it did get at least a few laughs from me. Plus, I do like the random bits of animal trivia and how they play into the humor of the show. And I do appreciate that the main character isn't a pussy and doesn't take shit from anyone unlike most MC's in this format.

The dinosaur teachers and staff were heavily underutilized though.

I just watched the 2 episodes of Appare-Ranman! & damn it was great. It's like Wacky Races got an anime or the movie Redline (aka Wacky Races, the ani-movie) got a prequel.

BTW it's not out yet, it'll be aired a week later from now. I just found the 2 preview episodes with subs.

You can get it in NyaaSi

The only thing I watched from last season was Orphen because nostalgia and it was fucking terrible, as expected of DEEN. I recommend watching the first 3 episodes with friends and then stopping there. Why only the first 3 episodes? The first two are set-up for the third episode which is fucking hysterical but needs that little context to really get you.

Is Orphen 2020 worse than the 90's and early 2000's anime only shit? Yeah. Is it inferior in every aspect? Not really. It's shorter and more to the point than the first series (which is the only one you can really compare since both adapt the same material), but taking that to the logical extreme of rushing through everything at faster-than-light speeds.

I'll take this opportunity to bring up "Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu" as something attached to Deen that is actually good. Much like Chihayafuru the subject matter of this show is pretty niche but it really ended up pulling me in.

RightStufAnime cancelled my $400+ preorder. I stood by it in the face of Corona-chan, and they just went and cancelled it when it was time to ship, the racist shitworms.
And JapanPost cancelled every shipping method to my country except seamail (3 months), which I now have to use even for things I planned to get by small packet (14 days and half the cost).

It's like the universe doesn't want my waifu and me to be together :heart-empty:

^ Hmm, I was planning on using Right Stuf to preorder the Non Non Biyori Vacation movie although I was just going to have it shipped to a relative in the Seattle area who would then ship it to Canada which I think would be cheaper than having TRS ship it directly.

I started watching Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! last night, but the first two episodes were bugging me to the point of frustration. I have this feeling the anime's more of a "tell, don't show" about animation. It will explain how a subset of animation works, but then it doesn't go through with showing the audience exactly (only sometimes), nor does it tell the audience the entire thing, especially since it looks like Kanamori is the audience surrogate who doesn't know jack about how animation works. She just sits there listening in to the two sperging out about animation while thinking about money, but she's not really "getting it". Likewise, I don't think the general audience is getting it, either.

It's also bothering me how the subs never made it clear that when they say "anime", they are really and truly talking about "animation" since the two want to be animators, and a supervisor made a big deal about the already-established Anime Club that the leads can't make when it's a club about researching animation history, so the girls decide it'll be a film club where they'll still make an animated film. I guarantee you the weebs are being fed misinformation thanks to the subs not admitting the girls are talking about cartoons in general. There also seems to be a lot of Miyazaki dick-sucking going on with mentions to Future Boy Conan, but again, that's only in the first two episodes thus far.

I dunno, I hope it'll prove me wrong and it actually shows us how the girls get to making their film and explain to Kanamori how it works while giving us visuals, but I'm starting to think this is something only actual animators/animation geeks will truly get if the regular audience has no plans on looking shit up themselves. Like they didn't namedrop the multiplane camera, they just say it's a "camera stand" and then explain how the contraption works, but it's only shown in action once for one part (the background scroll).

Anyone who's seen it can clarify better on if it gets better, but I'm honestly not all that impressed by it even during the imagine spots.
