Started Yu Yu Hakusho and have finished episode 5. It's decent though I hear it gets better later on. Also apparently in the Manga it takes longer for Yusuke to get back to life. Also appears to have a very low filler percentage sitting at an insignificant 5% according to Anime Filler List. Surprising since Pierrot would later produce Naruto and Naruto Shippuden: shows infamous for their high filler percentage
YYH is one of the best ever made. I def recommend reading the manga too because while the anime stays true to the source material there's a lot of jokes and other minor things you're missing out on. And goddamn can Togashi draw (when he's not playing DQ his back works)

Besides Hitaus X Hiatus Level E is another lesser-known manga Togashi did I'd recommend. It starts out slow the first couple chapters but becomes a lot of fun afterwards.

There's a lot of bloody violence though, but I suppose 13+ is a pretty fair age rating, the trouble though like I said is the manga was right next to the children's section, so there would be nothing stopping a kid under 13 from wandering into the manga section and discovering that.

However I think they got wise because I just remembered that I've been back to that library more recently and I think they had moved the manga section away from the children's section as a matter of fact, but it's still funny that there at least was a time where that wasn't the case.
It got bloody but I don't think it ever got super gory. It's funny cuz monthly SJ had pictures like Yamcha getting yeeted by Dr. Gero or the one in the spoiler above and that was mainly targeted to young teens. Just don't draw tits and you can pretty much show whatever you want.

I mean, there is that part where Seras' mother gets shot, and then Seras forks one of the shooters in the eye and gets shot for it and knocked across the room so the shooters can angry rape her dying mom, and but it's a flashback and has left Seras vulnerable so that Blitz can scythe her eyes

Get this article, females need to understand the hearts of boys?

ANN and HuffPo trying to stir up shit where there's no problem. "Shonen" means boy(s). If women want to run things, go to a shojo magazine.
In the past, I would have been more sympathetic to this chick, but I've now seen scores of my childhood favorites destroyed because some dumbfuck thought it would be a good idea to put a woman in charge of a boys/men's franchise. Looking at you, Kathleen Kennedy.

Oh yeah that happened. The book I looked at (10) was rated 13+ so maybe they just rated that one higher (don't remember which one it was)?

Recently decided to rewatch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, forgot how much of a banger literally every ED and OP is.

So basically someone bitched on Twitter about the implication of women having to practically be tomboys to be an editor? God, there's just no middle ground with these people, is there?

The animation for all the openings was also pretty great, the animators were the same team that did Puella Magi Madoka Magica/Monogatari and they really played around with their collage art style a lot in these openings.

Someone compiled a list of clean HQ OP/EDs which is great because they got wiped hard from Youtube and never reuploaded so I always had to look on DailyMotion

-insert person in charge of selling something to a certain demography- must understand -insert the demography they're selling to- is a really controversial statement.
Goddammit no one reads the fucking article yet again.
> boys' magazines cannot be run by women because <insert idiotic reason>
> girls' magazines can be and are run by men

(Will forced "diversity" be worse than the current state of affairs? Probably yes.)

I haven't seen that, but I did decide to re-watch Maria Holic and Maria Holic Alive from the same director and studio earlier this year, is anyone else a fan of that series?

It's even funnier in light of modern culture.

I mean, it's not hard to understand what men/boys like.

Decent stories, tit and ass (fuck off feet), and violence. Not really all that complicated. If you are a female editor and this is a mystery to you, you're not qualified.

The problem isn't women in positions of power it's that they aren't hiring the right ones.

For example in the 80s Jenette Kahn saved DC Comics from being shuttered by Warner.

Just started rereading Shaman King. Forgot how much I liked it, but I definitely remembered some things wrong. Of course though, the scan I have appears to not be the official Shonen Jump version so it'll never be quite the same I suppose.
