it isn't difficult to follow that Shinji felt bad for killing someone who had only ever been a good person to him, and not because Kaworu infected him with T3H G4YZ.

If you follow the original script and events in super robot taisen (Anno was euphoric when they told him that Evangelion was chosen to be in it, GAINAX refused the deal but he told them to fuck off, the games include new Evangelion armors and plot fixes because of it aka shinji not being a whiner) he killed him because he felt betrayed for not telling him that he was a angel, he was a wreck at that time were almost all the persons that he care for were death (Kaji),he beat the crap out of them (Tooru) or fleed the destroyed city (Kensuke), he was just very attached to him on that moment, but no, people has to spin it to buttsex because two mans can't be friends without slapping their dicks together

Well, he DID jerk the gherkin to a pair of anime titties, fantasised about the three main ladies of his life when absorbed, and before that had a boner over Misato and Asuka...

In the end of Evangelion, Misato even told him before he ride the EVA for the last battle that if they survive she will get his virgin card revoked if you know what i mean (iirc the script that i checked when i was correcting say "when this is all over we are going to do the real deal" or something like that)

Wasn't Kaworu officially sent to NERV by SEELE to sabotage them by fusing with Lilith or something? He already had an agenda going in, being nice to Shinji was probably just a part of his nature as an Angel and not because he truly cared. He's definitely the most complex Angel next to Lilin, and it's not out of the equation he may have just played nice with Shinji just to mess with him. He's much more friendly to him in 3.0 but it's a shitty future that even an Angel wants to reverse it, even if it was futile. (Actually, wasn't it part of Kaworu's plan to initiate the next Impact with Shinji? Been a while since I last saw the movie, but things weren't supposed to happen while Kaworu was in the Eva with him?)

I dunno, I think Kaworu by nature does love Shinji, but he's not above manipulating him even if it's for "the greater good".

In the beginning yes, but he throw them off by following his own agenda, the original plan of SEELE was making him go to the central dogma to touch Lilith and trigger the third impact but he get annoyed when the thing he found was not Adam his true motives are never explained, after Shinji chop his head SEELE consider him a failure and use his data for the cheap EVA knockoffs that come with a entry plug with his name (because getting pilots was a pain in the butt they just mass produced Dummy system, you know that thing that rekted 03?)

So I watched the first two episodes of Evangelion. I'm not really feeling it so far to be honest. The pacing is horrendously slow, I don't really like the extremely sudden jump cuts, and the lack of music during most of the scenes makes it feel monotonous.

I might be jumping the gun since I've only watched the first two episodes, but does the show get any better? Or at least does it actually get exciting? I'm really impatient when it comes to TV.

I think that the first handful of episodes are a little slow. The show eventually gets batshit crazy, though.

If I had to be honest, there's a 50/50 chance you'll enjoy it based on your criticisms of the first few episodes, lol. There's so much more that happens and hits the fan ... But there are certainly more of those "quiet" moments that you don't seem to care for ...

What bugs me is that even the "action" moments were silent too. Why is there no music compounding the scene in the first episode with the Angel wrecking shit with the possibility of Shinji getting crushed? It made it feel...I dunno, cheap? There was a distinct lack of excitement during what should be a tense moment and it bugs the hell out of me since it wasn't an isolated incident.

We have two high profile anime death this month (the black guy and Sam Hyde).
To that I say... good riddance, if they weren't gonna wait for the last episode of the best anime of season, Million Arthur or even the runner ups like Miru Tights, then they're fucking plebs.

here is a screenshot from million arthur, presented without comment

Evangelion starts out pretty slowly, with many light-hearted moments here and there. This changes around the Episode 13 mark, when shit escalates pretty quickly. That's also roughly the point where Hideaki Anno decided to actually address his cirppling depression, instead of trying to pretend it wasn't there.

Also, am I misremembering things? I thought they'd play music during the action scenes...
Edit: just checked, there should be background music (specifically: this amazing track), did Netflix cut that out or what?

On the other hand, Shinj is a whiny fag who needs to get in the fucking robot already.

Look on the bright side: Rebuild Shinji got in the robot, and he fucked over the world 1.5 times by doing so. So much so nobody (except the usual suspects) wanted him anywhere near an EVA in 3.0.

Not sure which version you're watching, but there is most certainly music in them, at least in original dub and sub. I think the only time they didn't have it was when Shinji recaps the initial headbashing in Episode 2.

Another anime fighter got announced, though probably not one you’d expect.
