I've finally finished watching the 1974 Getter Robo, so in the not-too-distant future I'm going to start watching Mobile Suit Gundam. I have a few things I want to either start or finish watching (Ideon and Votoms being at the top) as well.

I would say watch the MSG films instead of the series. It gives you the same plot, but with better animation and some extra stuff thrown in. You also don't have to watch 43 episodes.

Votoms is bretty kewl too. It's a bit slow at first, but is a good robot show.

I'm looking forward to Zeta Gundam more myself. Used to have this PS2 game, Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam, that focused more on Zeta's story. Loved that game, miss it dearly and want to see the real thing. Also own the trilogy version, but it's just not the same.

Zeta is great, and is probably my favorite Gundam series. The designs are pretty great, and it's a hell of a lot more engaging than the original MSG. Also, If by trilogy you mean the movies, then watching the films is sure gonna be different for you, because boy does Tomino like to change shit.

Just rewatched Barefoot Gen and goddamn, the feels. It's similar to Grave of the Fireflies that it takes place during that time in Japan. Gen started as a manga by Keiji Nakazawa who survived the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. Honestly, I prefer Gen over GotF. Gen has more impact then the other movie. Something about Firefiles seems off then I watched it a secord time a few years ago. All of Barefoot Gen is on YouTube if anyone is interested in checking it out.

I'll be watching the series and the films. I've gotten recommendations for both, so I figured I might as well.
Getter is fully subbed...kinda. /m/subs did the first several episodes and they're pretty good, but then the old subs come up and they're not so good. Not wholly unreadable, though, so you can still watch it. No idea if G will ever get a sub, I haven't seen any yet.
As far as Ideon goes, I already started it, so even though I barely scratched it I should probably finish. After that, though, I'm going to watch a happy Tomino like Xabungle.

Right now I'm 25/42 of the original series (I'm going with the dub). I have to agree it's not the most engaging of shows (can't count how many times I worry more about Zeon soldiers surviving while the White Base comes across as kinda bloody thirsty in comparison), I still feel like it's a solid series. I mean, I don't find it to be as bad as Wing.

Ramba Rol was a boss

It took me like 17 episodes to like Amuro. Found he was kinda annoying and arrogant, but the character growth is there. Comparatively, it took 16 episodes of Seed HD Remastered to get pissed at Kira (his treatment of Sai concerning Flay). It's just funny how that synced up.

So I got around to watching Parasyte.

I don't even need to make masturbation jokes, the show does it for me. 10/10

When I was a kid, my older sister was a big Sailor Moon fan and used to get any magazine that had her on the cover. I remember distinctly flicking through some magazine she had and finding a Parasyte manga inside and it freaked me the fuck out. I had nightmares for weeks. Forgot compeltely about that manga til I came across this anime. It's a really good adaption, I'm loving it thus far. And I'm no expert of Japanese voice-acting as I'm barely a novice at the language but the actress for Migi is killer.

Same here. My cousin used to work at a library, and one day when I was visiting she had brought home a Sailor Moon magazine that she said I could keep. Immediately after opening the cover, bam, there was an ad for Parasyte using the first panel of this page from the manga. Scared the hell out of me.

Finished Mobile Suit Gundam. Now, now I can watch Zeta! I've been waiting years for this, ever since I played Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam in high school. Had dialup back then and couldn't watch while I had the interest.

Man, that takes me back. I remember downloading a 40 MB volume of manga used to take so long. I'd leave my PC on overnight and hope nothing happened to kill the connection. I used to read a lot more manga online because of those limitations. Getting wireless was a big thing for me as I could finally start watching shows I wanted too. Hell, fansubs were this alien concept to me back then, as I had trouble believing people would spend their time doing them for free.

I feel old right now :/

It's been out for a while now, but the trailer for the next half of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders was released. And January is only getting closer. I still can't wait.

We all do.

Your Lie In April! Come on Kiwis, I know someone else is watching this amazing show with me. This sucker hits me right in the goddamn feels every single episode, it joins the ranks of very few other examples of media that hit it right every time, that fire perfectly on all cylinders. The music, the VA, the story, the dialogue, the characters, all of it! I wasn't sure what I expected but holy smokes there's nothing else, my Crunchyroll queue is organized from most to least interesting, and my two at the top are Shipuuden (because thats the way it's always been) and Your Lie In Motherfukkin April. I think I might even buy it on Blu-Ray when it comes here, and I almost never buy physical media.

I might start watching Free! Not really into sports anime and all the characters look like they were just put in to be eyecandy, but one of my friends really likes it.
