I don't think that's all that unusual, though. I remember some American/Canadian English dubs that left characters' singing un-dubbed. If I remember correctly, even the TV dub of Sailor Moon season 3 (post-DiC) left one or two songs sung by characters untranslated.

I believe the problem is that, quite often, there's no off-vocal version of the song available to use for a dub or, even when there is an off-vocal, it has to be licensed separately compared to just using the Japanese version of the song that's covered under the existing license. Dubbing studios can, of course, create a new song from scratch but that's usually more costly than it's worth.

Holy shit, the dub to The Ping-Pong Club has killed my childhood, but it compensated by replacing it with something beautiful.

Are female leads in shounen anime considered unusual?

In the mid-1990s you had Lina Inverse. I know the first Slayers manga adaptation and the OVA series are considered more seinen than shounen, but the anime TV series is totally shounen.

Watched the final Gen Urobuchi Godzilla movie on Netflix, well it ended as i expected, still better than the one from legendary studios

I don't see how female leads in shounen are unusual these days, though it was Go Nagai who first pioneered the female lead in shounen with Cutey Honey in 1973.

Just remember this is with "ITS CURRENT YEAR" tards and attempted socjusers as anime "fans" who's intro was probably Attack on Titan. They've watched whatever shit Netflix dumps out rather than going out to look for stuff. So to them this is all new and such rather than anything at all retread a dozen times for the rest of us.

So, in short, it's the netflix-anime version of "Halo invented FPS!"

Another clip of English dub of anime from an Asians, this time a song dubbed in English, notice the difference of the lyrics:
