I keep seeing normies praise frieren for its lack of fan service meanwhile one episode into season 2 of Frieren and there's already unnecessary close up feet scenes

Normies always do it. They try to argue that their favourite anime doesn't have any fanservice because that's doubleplus ungood (unless it's fujoshit, then it's perfectly acceptable).

As if the massive amount of Fern porn just materialized from thin air.

To be fair feet are such a weird fetish that it's completely invisible to normies and the only people that see them are Foot Fetishists and the Internet Poisoned. It's the reason why Dan Schneider had a career for so long before he had to quietly be put out to pasture over all the child rape allegations.

Your sex thing = Bad
Our degenerate sex thing = Good

It's really not that complex. They just want you jerking off to ugly things like they do. It's a way of forcing fetishes on people under the guise of social justice. Like those ugly fat negresses posing in front of Sydney Sweeney's modeling posters.

I am fairly certain someone higher on the company chain just got tired of him.

but enough about western culture war sperging

even though it really does seem to be infesting the east as of late with companies trying to buy into the manga industry

Has anyone else been seeing the Japs on Twitter act like the biggest DSP dents about piracy lately? This image has been floating around.

A lot of those web traffic analysis are based on browser extensions and marketing cookies. I could make a case that the nips would download any malware ridden application and potentially skew analytics towards themselves.

Feet (and hands) are notoriously difficult to draw and animate, so an animator showing off their skill in showing that feet can look good in art ends up unintentionally creating an entire fetish community around it. And that's giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're not footfags themselves.

How often does Frieren show off her bare feet in the manga compared to the anime, anyway?

Great! Because we all know what the fans have really been asking for is the globalization of the anime and manga industry. We are all excited to see anime not just created by Japanese people but by people all over the world. Let's stop gatekeeping anime guys. Lead the way Garnt!

Gigguk is such a garbage anime "fan"

Funny you mention Garnt, Think Before You Sleep recently did a video calling out these tourists for what they are, and even brought up Garnt's attempt to make an anime when he can't even speak the language.

That's where I got the text from. Ironically, his tweet didn't link for some reason. I fixed that though

I wouldn't say dirty Gaijin should be kept out entirely, as Violet Evergarden was carried heavily by it's music composed by a white man. Add to it that people make their own shitty mangas wherever they are in the world anyway. Aren't half of all DBZ doujins made by spics anyway? But I do agree that professionally it should be heavily scrutinized when it comes to allowing Foreigners to write stories

Eric Bischoff once said just because you're a wrestling fan doesn't mean you are qualified to run a wrestling company or be it's booker. Maybe that rule applies to anime and manga as well?
That's a rule that applies to basically everything.

Evan Call currently lives in Japan and can actually hold a conversation with natives, hence why he's been able to work with studios for over ten years now. That's what TBUS is getting at, that these foreigners are living in Japan (or in another country for that matter) but cannot speak the language fluently or proficiently enough after several years or more of living there.

And even if Garnt can actually speak the language, there's no guarantee his anime will actually be good. We've seen time and time again these fans who have criticized tropes in their favorite medium for years who decide to step in and "do it myself" have no fucking idea how to just write a decent, coherent narrative in general, and that's before getting into the professionalism behind the production. There's just no originality and passion behind it, it just comes off more like a call of duty, and rarely is that a good motivator.

Baan (I'm not looking for the actual a in that gobbledygook language) was... okay? But can I really say that when it wasn't really much of anything beyond a "woah guys, this is what it's like to go to a different place" short with themes of growing up and realizing home is where you belong? I can't fault him for wanting to and using his money to make anime and get his foot in the door for other projects. If I was in his shoes, I'd probably do the same and it be just as "huh, that's kinda neat" quality.

TBUS even further expounds in another tweet.

I'm sad to say that I forgot we were on the internet so I have to clarify that this post I am retweeting was sarcastic. This video is a moment that was mostly cut from my recent upload and changed into a one-liner about Bâan not being anime so I thought I would expand upon it here. I just find it strange that Garnt has been in the anime community for like what... 15+ years?

He knows that anime fans distinctly see anime as a product of Japanese culture and do not consider things that were made by non Japanese people to be anime. There are thousands of pages of old forum post arguing whether Avatar is an anime or not and the answer is no. However the show is good. So I find it insulting that he titles his documentary "The YouTuber Who Made a Real Anime" when he knows that people don't consider it anime if the creator is not Japanese. I mean Garnt can't even speak Japanese... like... at all. Bâan is not anime. I find it particularly offensive to see of him diluting the definition of anime by saying there is Chinese anime now and, "Me and my friends who also don't speak Japanese at all are now creating a manga."

This is exactly what Filthy Frank was making fun of in his Weeabo video. Even to the point where he ironically calls Corey In the House anime. He's making fun of people like Garnt.Never have I been so tortured as I was having to watch Garnt's 2 hour therapy session that he called a documentary that, much like his "anime," was clearly made out of self-indulgence and not out of care for the audience. The story-telling in Bâan was so ass that no one would have watched it if Garnt didn't call it an anime.Stuff like this why Trash Taste was used as a metaphor to explain the problems we are having in America.

Trash Taste is not just a good metaphor for immigrants in America who refuse to learn English, they are also HUGE promoters of doing everything that anime fans have said they hate for the past 25 years. They are diluting Japanese culture by promoting mass immigration and overtourism and now Garnt, Daidus, and Emirichu are pulling this shit where they are trying to dilute the definiton of anime. If you guys were actually good at story telling, you wouldn't have to do that to sell your stories. Anime is a representation of Japanese culture and Japanese values. The Japanese take on storytelling is why people gravitate to anime. None of you guys grew up in Japan, none of you speak Japanese, and because of that none of you actually understand Japanese culture. Also Garnt is a shit writer so... there's that too.
