Meant to do it last night, but it was getting late and I was tired.
I finished Sailor Moon last night. After letting it sink in for over 12 hours, I do have to wonder if I would've enjoyed Sailor Stars better had it been dubbed, if only because I had gotten attached to the characters through the dub. It was a good season, I just didn't really feel them here in the original, at least not afterDarien Mamoru left to go abroad. Although I liked the addition of the new Sailor Scouts, I liked Seiya the most--probably because Seiya had the most development between the three of them.
If I have to complain about something, I think I had the bar set up a little too high when it comes to the ending, I just felt a little underwhelmed by it. Like... it just wasn't romantic enough, if that makes any sense. I guess this is just anime-only because it was made at around the same time as the manga and so it easily overtook it, but even then, it had to have just borrowed from the manga and more-or-less went in a separate direction, taking all sorts of twists and turns along the way. So I dunno, just not a fan of how it ended.
But the journey was still fun. Even though I'll probably always prefer Cardcaptors more, I definitely see why it's popular and beloved. While I might rewatch it in the future, I don't see myself owning physical copies of the anime any time soon (I've had the first two volumes of the manga for a couple of years now), as I'm not sure if I do want the Viz Media dub since the DiC and Cloverway dubs were a lot of fun.
