I don't think ki blasts/waves are ever really relevant outside of a few moments. And the major issue with those was how easy it was to just move out of the way. Goku had to bluff Cell into thinking he was going to blow up the Earth and teleport directly in front of him just to pull one off. And no one could do shit to Cell when he was going to end the world with his.

Not really especially with the shit towards the end of the manga's run and the absolute shitshow which is Super. Its a fact that the franchise became far too obsessed with transformations the more it went on and most of fights became way less focused on martial arts prowess and more "what new hair color will Goku achieve now?".
Toyotaro is a tracing hack fraud and Toei is now following the trend of spastic lightshows in low of choreography going by Daima so the franchise will never be the same.

Speaking of fighting scenes, this one is an often praised one.
Honestly people claim Sword of the Stranger is only good for this scene, and I kind of get why but I like the movie as a whole. I'm a big sucker for those lone wolf and cub plots.

So the main reason I was annoyed was that I had just gotten back from work and was changing, and my roommate reminded me that we didn't have anything for dinner, so I had to go back outside, where it's cold, and drive to the store to pick something up.
Ended up making stew and Potatoes since it was simple. But I was annoyed that I had to leave and make dinner when I assumed I didn't have to.

Its a good movie but subsequent rewatches it has that "when are they going to get to the fireworks factory" feel because the climax is just that great and well worth it.

Sensible Saiyan does a good job of breaking down Dragonball Z fights and comparing them to real-life combat sports, even scoring them like you would an MMA fight. They really are better-choreographed than the show's reputation would lead you to believe.

Kaya Chan first episode was pretty good, a combination of Mob and Dark Gathering, the ending was pretty great setup for the series.
The issue is CGI, but not in the western way of having it not mesh with the foreground (though that still happens) but how easy it is to spam a fuckton of particle effects into scenes to the point that actual environment is unnecessary. The Fate HF films were the ones that I first noticed it.
The thing I remember most from the film was how refreshing it was for the villains to be the super samurai ones and the Japs doing their human waves tactics (which sometimes even worked).

Finally read the final volume of Shaman King The Super Stars and we still didn't started the Flower of Maize.
And so far there is no sequel confirmed for it so far. Being Shaman King fan is total suffering.

We really needed to see Nero. Maybe he'll mention Nero. Not that Nero but not Nero, specifically beast Nero. We'll probably get Shiki. Sakura who isn't Sakura or that Sakura or the other Sakura or the goddess Sakura or the other goddess Sakura.
But really. Would it be a spin-off Fate work without Kiara? Gil's already in. We just need someone else. Maybe a member of the original Fate cast. Because this wide and vast unimaginably complex world can't go five fucking seconds without bringing up someone from what is supposed to be the backwater shithole of the setting but somehow has ties to every other major happening.

Street Fighter II V was a bit of a slog to get through when I did a rewatch with a group, but damn, they could actually choreograph a fight.
For the most part.
Imagine a modern Street Fighter animation with today's light show. And I think it did happen, and it was still watchable than whatever the fuck is going on with JJK.

SFIIV was great, like a quasi-prequel/side story to the Street Fighter movie from 1994. Everyone remembers the scene when Guile beats the fuck out of Ryu and Ken. Sagat's a pretty cool dude in it, and you get to see Chun-li in a dress.

I want to come here and bitch about the month old second trailer they released for the upcoming Fist of the North Star remake.
It doesn't look any better. In fact, it looks even worse because it's obvious they're having to use multiple models for scenes because of discrepancies and it's still animated at 15 frames per second.
When you have to draw some scenes in 2D because your 3D models and animation look like shit, then you should not be doing 3D animation, period.
What also infuriates me is that there are people who simply cannot see the frame difference. What the hell? You mean to tell me there's a whole subset of humans who can't differentiate FPS over, what, like 20? I think you mother fuckers are being willfully obtuse and just have low standards. Fuck you. Stop accepting pig slop.
