Keeping up with Ancient Magus Bride and it's various spin offs is quite something. Fat girl slop is very prone to missing, but Yamazaki has kept my interest for quite a while. The charm of the opening chapters is still there- my favorite scene is that of Elias and Chose finding berries in winter, only for Elias to hide Chise away from the two nameless gods. That even he fears them struck me as genius writing.
Managed to keep up with the manga volumes and even got the two LNs, but then I did see there were spin offs. And one by Makoto Sanda. Then it became Not Case Files with the whole Alchemist Academy Arc. Fuck my life, at least she's starting something new with Ghost and Witch. I still have yet to read Frau Faust or the Jack Flash spin offs though.

Pani Poni Dash needs to be re-released imo.

Currently going through Maison Ikkoku. I am on episode 26. I usually hate romcoms but I actually like this one? Its definitely her most underrated of the big 4 (UY, Ranma, Inuyasha). Apparently people find it bland but ironically its one of the few series with a beginning, middle, and an end. Mine is Japanese with subtitles. The acting is pretty great across the board. I thought Ichinose's seiyuu died but she's alive. Issei Futamata is really great as Godai as is Sumi Shimamoto as Kyoko.

Godai isn't really a pervert as you'd expect from these kind of protagonists. He's really good with kids and it was nice to see his vulnerability when he thought Kyoko had left forever. (Show more men genuinely crying in anime ffs) Kyoko does get jealous at times but she's not really a tsundere because she's got a whole lot of other shit going on with widowhood, managing the apartments, getting caught in her love triangle, and dealing with her asshole parents, specifically her mother.

I like them all but Akemi is probably a highlight. She's just boozy and sometimes dispenses good advice.

Finished VOTOMS Mellowlink. Quite good alright, although the last-minute twist from the blonde to make him a bad guy felt unnecessary, and I swear they suddenly made him be the captain that died in the beginning somehow, despite looking different. I guess the sci-fi spooks gave him plastic surgery? Checking what's left of VOTOMS franchise, it seems a few OVAs here and there that's all to check. Still, seeing an infantry guy defeat countless mechs by using guile alone is cool.

They made a Zach Bell sequel series?
Yes. The answer as to whether you should read it is mostly related to what you liked or disliked from the original series, really. I recommend it but it hasn't had nearly as many scenes like those times Kiyomaro's dumbass friends and school lessons were minor events as opposed to the big epic battle arcs.

Also it's been like 6 volumes and we STILL haven't seen hair nor hide of Wonrei and his girlfriend even though we've seen the other main good guys from the past so far.

Has that rapist bunny shown back up yet? Momon was quite the...unique addition to the main cast.

I can’t wait to watch Demon Slayer: infinity castle where I can see the BUMshira’s fight the Upper FRAUDS and Temu Michael Jackson, after thirty minutes of backstory and exposition
MID FUCKING FIGHT

Edit: It’s time for a taisho era secret:

THIS SHOW FUCKING SUCKS

Tried a recommendation list from earlier in the thread. Not big on anime / manga and I went in blind for these.

  • Redline - Very good. I enjoy how the worldbuilding is done and leaves plenty to the imagination. Art is amazing. Cute story with a nice ending. A feel good movie.
  • Jin-Roh - Another good one. Minor gripe of how the moral dilemma at the end felt forced but otherwise the drama and action held up. May have to find more by this author as they have a sophisticated mind I can tell.
  • Delicious in Dungeon - I quit after 5 minutes into the 1st episode. The tone did not sit well with me at all. Skipped around through some more episodes at one point and nothing seems to be taken seriously. You mean to tell me this guy loves his sister but also does not care she is dead / dying? The humor did not land.
  • Beserk - A masterpiece. Need not say more.
  • Yugioh, Pokemon, Digimon - Were fun as a child. Too old for them now. I recall the later Yugioh series did not sit well with me when I was younger (Yugioh GX).
  • Lucky Star - Shocked to admit I love this slice of life stuff.
  • Made in Abyss - Pedo trash. Ditched on the first episode. A shame as the world the show took place was very interesting.
  • Evangelian - I did not understand what was happening but mech fights are fun.
  • Goodbye, Mr. Despair - Another I dropped quickly. Fan service is too much.
About to watch some Psycho-Pass. May try Pani Poni Dash too.

Any broad recommendations for 'end of the world' series or movie? Also anything out there similar to Lucky Star? That show was too cute and I need more.

Mob Psycho 100 might be up your alley it’s one of my favs. Also Attack on Titan, the ending kinda sucks but it’s still good.

I mostly read slice of life so I can recommend manga like that

Azumanga Daioh, hands down.

Casshern Sins (2008). You will either love it for the introspection or hate it for how slow it is but, regardless of that, it's a beautiful anime.

Desert Punk is funny, but the fanservice/ pervy main character may scare you off.

Hokuto no Ken is the granddad of every shonen, but it has something like 100 episodes. Also, if you don't like old anime visuals it can be a hard watch.
mech fights are fun
Maybe try Gundam X, it's mechs and post-apoc. And no, you don't need to watch any other gundam before it.

@ComeOnDuder
Step 1. Start Watching Shonen
Step 2. Pick a character you like
Step 3. Start relentlessly glazing them and talking about how they can beat another character on a Mongolian basket weaving forum
Step 4. Call every anime you haven’t seen yet gay because it’s not dragon ball or something
Step 5. Rinse and Repeat this cycle
