To the shock of no one, One-Punch Man's third episode of the season did nothing to improve. About two minutes of subpar action and talking heads for the rest of the episode. Even had a sequence that was a minute straight of literally just three or four PNGs plastered on the screen with no movement. At one point a male character was drawn as a woman with breasts in some kind of freak mistake, probably some outsourced animator that had no idea who the character was and assumed he was a woman. Also copy/pasted assets.

Watching OPM fans have a meltdown over the anime after sucking its cock when it first aired is a little cathartic, almost euphoric.

Anime-watchers should learn to achieve nirvana if Frieren suffers a similar fate ngl.

The difference is the first season isn't animated/adapted like shit while the newest season IS. The One Punch Man of a decade ago (:stress:) is a completely different production headed by a completely different studio and director.

This is a dumb take, One Punch Man when it came out looked fantastic art and animation wise, so it really did deserve the cock sucking it got.

I think the idea is after all the shit he went through he just hit his psychological limit. I assume whatever happens in that tomb is going to serve the narrative purpose of restoring his will to fight.

One of two possibilities I see: either (A) they're saving all their budget for the latter half of the season where shit gets truly wild or (B) they just cheaped out and the season is going to be utter trash. I still see the former as a possibility because I you could easily dump an entire season's worth of budget into the big fights at the end.

No it will be shit. The IP is just fucked for getting too popular. No one expect Shaft style over animated talking scenes, but if they won't bother making a walking animation, they won't bother making any fight scene that isn't an insane amount of particle effects plastered over stills.

Which tbf is the modern standard for a good fight scene.
 
It's really stupid they're being so cheap and lazy with the OPM seasons after the first. It's not like they're being made under a strict schedule, the first season was 10 fucking years ago and we're only now on season 3. You'd think they'd be willing to make sure new seasons get made properly given how long they've had to set production up.

But at the same time, the OPM anime was screwed from the start because it's based on Murata's remake manga, and that went off the rails changing things from the original webcomic for the worse and taking itself too seriously.

Sadly even Frieren suffered from this cancerous shekel-saving trend once or twice. The worst moment in all of season 1 was the fight between Fern, Frieren, and the Frieren doppelganger, and of course the bellcurve plebs ate it right up... all show and no substance. Just colors and chaos flashing all over the screen with poor choreography and a terminal lack of being able to follow what the fuck was going on. A random shit-gasm of explosions and uncontrolled magic tornados, as though that wouldn't immediately get the caster killed via shock wave soft tissue damage/shrapnel/the entire combat arena collapsing on them. Hope Season 2 does away with that shit.

I'm under no illusion that it's highly unlikely, especially after how Season 2 went. I don't blame the IP getting popular though. Someone fucked up behind the scenes in dropping or losing Madhouse, then fucked up again by continuing to retain a studio that clearly is not good at this sort of show. They shouldn't have even bothered making a season 3 if they couldn't get better animators than this, because there is no way on God's green earth they turn a profit on this show if the quality levels stay as low as they are.

Fuck me. JJK is even stupider than I remember. For fuck's sake, Yuji goes all "I'm not you!" to actually "I am you." in a manner of minutes to Mahito's entire spiel.
