Little Witch Academia is a darling series, I'm legitimately surprised more people aren't watching it. Episode eight got me to love Sucy more, like the idea used for that episode wasn't anything new (and it's chock full with shout-outs), but it was still fun and creative.

I'm enjoying it, a lot, but I think mentioning it when it's become so pervasive and popular means it gets skipped in this thread just because we're trying to talk about and promote stuff we're watching to eachother.

Episode 8 was absolutely wonderful and furthers my argument that Sucy is best girl. The animation was excellent, even above what I've come to expect from the anime this far in.

Eh, I don't think that's the case. Whenever JoJo's around there's a bunch of us JoJo spergs that are in here posing and ゴゴゴゴゴゴing all over the place, so from my viewpoint just talk about whatever you want here.

Did anyone else watch To be Hero? I thought it was dumb and childish but then I watched the entire thing in one go and now the opening song is my ringtone. I'm suffering with overdose of Jojo and it's a nice distraction.

Fair enough, but I was noting how on MyAnimeList, like roughly half of the users who watched the original short are currently watching the show. Meanwhile, over 100,000 users are watching the light novel DEEN-quality trash that is KonoSuba. The priorities of these new-taku depress me.

Speaking of promoting shows we're watching, has anyone else watched Yowamushi Pedal? Why isn't that more popular than Haikyuu? It's because it's about bicycle racing, isn't it, even though the main character is probably the most relatable sports protagonist ever (an otaku wanting to make otaku friends, but found a better calling in life and inadvertently indoctrinated his new friends into an in-universe magical girl series)?

Also the OPs and EDs have been fucking awesome. Have a taste.

That show was critically underrated as it aired. Also proof that we need more father/daughter anime, I love those.

So, I've finished the first 10 volumes of One Piece. I'm past where I stopped reading over a decade ago... wow, has it really been that long? Man, I feel old. Anyway, I'm past where I stopped reading along with the monthly issues of Shonen Jump years ago. I didn't remember being finishing the Don Krieg battle, but I was surprised to realize that I had. There were some scenes I thought were missing but it turns out they were from the end when Sanji joins.

So, I'm in completely new waters now and, I have to say, loving it. Maybe it's not having to wait every month for another couple chapters, maybe it's because it's just pure fun, but I really like One Piece now. I'm kinda sorry I've never really given it the chance until now. But then again, then I wouldn't have the joy of catching up would I?

TBF the series isn't even available and only two sub groups are doing it. So blame Netflix of Japan for that. It is also really fucking good. What is wrong with Konosuba? It is a comedy series and while I agree deen is trash the anime is still humorous and charming in it's own way. Yowamushi Pedal is more fujoshi pandering no idea what you mean man.

I'll be honest, I am watching Konosuba rather religiously because it's actually entertaining.

It's a DnD party of Min/Maxers with all the expected results when the Party Leader is the only vaguely sane member, it's kind of relatable as I used to run in a DnD group where I was the insane one with explosive magic and charisma.

Megumin.(KonoSuba).full.1978894.jpg

It was quite something when you watch an anime and get reminded of your own character singing showtunes while exploding people.

I agree Megumin is best girl, she's the only character I actually kinda like in the show (and I'm a sucker for witches/magicians anyway). I just don't care for anything else--and I had binge-watched the first season. (I probably should've waited to binge-watch this season. Oh well.) I don't deny it appeals to people, however, it's just not for me, but my completionist ass won't let me stop watching it.

Free! and Yuri!!! On Ice are fujoshi pandering. Yowamushi Pedal actually has characters and better adrenaline rushes, kind of like Ping Pong, and Ping Pong was awesome. Also Midousuji Akira is the creepiest motherfucker ever and I love him.

I dig mainly comedic anime, so between everyone talking about it on here and the Mother's Basement video on its second OP, I think I'll give it a look.

Currently watching "Another". So far, I'm liking it, but the way people seem to shrug off multiple people dying in horrible ways is a bit strange and off-putting.

On the manga side of things, I just found out about Lone Wolf and Cub. A much older manga series that kind of defies the traditional manga layout in that it needs to be read left to right rather than right to left. Kinda threw me off and left me confused for a few pages.

I'm about 3 chapters in and enjoying it so far though. Love how the art style resembles that of Japanese paintings. It's very refreshing considering a lot of art styles in later manga just seem to blend together.
