So I watched Girls Und Panzer Der Film the other day....

Shame I cannot find a non-retarded version of this because this whole scene is pure shark jumping wtf territory.

The entire movie was nuts, but it was brilliant. Like everything else being discussed in the last few posts it was directed by Mizushima so just try not to think too hard about it.

I couldn't finish Mayoiga while it was airing but someday I will. Got about 4 eps in and didn't have the slightest clue what was happening but I wanna see where the fuck they were going with it.

One time at an anime convention, I wandered into a video room and caught part of an episode of what looked like a slice-of-life romance animé with some minor harem elements(think it was like episode 2 or 3). It seemed vaguely entertaining enough, so I caught the name of the show and memorized it so I could look it up when I got home.

And that was my first ever exposure to School Days. Wiki-ed it and found out the fuckery that it was when I got back home, never actually watched it.

I'm a bit of a sucker for slow burn shows, or slice of life's in which nothing genuinely happens.

So right now watching Backgrounds; The Anime Non Non Biyori and I was a little shocked at the depth of Toradorra.

That's funny, but it would've been funnier if you had actually watched it. I kinda wish I went into School Days blind, personally, I feel like I've missed out on something going in knowing what'll happen. 'Course, it was bullshit drama for eleven-and-a-half episodes anyway, so I was getting bored by the halfway point.

Speaking of getting bored over shockvalue, I had gone into Seikon no Qwaser knowing what I was getting into, and then roughly by episode eight, once the disgust and shame wore off, I got bored with the series. I still pushed myself through the two seasons to say I completed it, but I found nothing to talk about outside of "Kid sucks tits for 'rare' milk powers".

The manga creator's picture on MyAnimeList was probably the best thing to come out of this, though. Because it just screams "I made a profit off of breast milk powers".

Wonderful little series, but Renge's the best thing ever about the show. Episode four was too real, too close to home. :heart-empty:

Try Flying Witch.

Already watched that with a friend of mine over beers. Shockingly relaxing.

Currently watching Spice and Wolf which somehow snuck me by during a lull in my "watching anime now and then" before I was confined to my house and I can't watch daytime TV without my ears bleeding.

I frequently bounce around series, bingewatching one while maybe watching an episode here and there of another.

Anyone else watch Yuri here? Been a long time fan of it (an addiction really.) Though i've run dry on it. Watched Simoun for the fourth time, and looking for somthing else. Is Strawberry Panic any good? (That's about the only "classic" I haven't watched)

Be more specific on the type of yuri you would like. These may fall more under shoujo ai *outside japan* than anything else but here we go.

Smut brain dead stuff would be Valkyrie Drive Mermaid and to some extent Fate/kalied
Moderate stuff that is good but later suffers in quality Rinne no Lagrange, El Cazador de la Bruja and the underrated Flip Flappers /subtext
Moe shit Yuru Yuri/ K-On! (althought the yuri subtext was almost entirely stripped by Kyoani)
Stuff currently airing Miss Kobayashi's Dragon's Maid (Kyoani kept most of the yuri, shocker)

It's been an incredibly long time since I watched it, but I recall my overall impression of Strawberry Panic being rather bland. Just kind of day to day school life with some of the Yuri stuff coming out of relatively nowhere. I'm not really a fan of the genre, so perhaps I'm remembering a bit more harshly than it deserves but I honestly think Strawberry Panic wasn't anything special.

I prefer the ones aimed at girls, so Ecchi isn't really my thing (Though I was rather fond of Queen's Blade). Stuff like Aoi Hana, and Sasakemi Koto. And lol, i've already watched the entire Girls with Gun trilogy (Cazador was my favorite)

I've been keeping up with Dragon Maid (For the Dark Souls references, but mainly about all the Yuri), but I haven't tried Flip Flappers. I usually don't like subtext though (which is one of the reason I didn't see K-on because like you said they butchered the Yuri), although if the show is still good (Like Izetta was), and there's plenty of Yuri, I can do it. I've haven't heard much about it though.

Ah that's a shame then. I guess painfully mediocre?

That's probably one way to describe it. I honestly remember very little of what actually happens but somehow still have the feeling of "Absolutely nothing happens forever and then suddenly serious relationship drama with no build-up". Based on the ratings I've given to the 3 shows with LGBT themes that I've completely watched, I liked Kasimasi Girl Meets Girl more than Strawberry Panic, and Kasimasi was mediocre as hell.

Strawberry Panic is old and outdated.

Flip Flappers is good up until the last eps just watch it. Hell it was excellent until then imo.

I personally thought the last good episode was the one with the Mecha.

The other episodes after it felt like it wanted to take itself seriously, and fell short.

Even if you say that . That is 8 episodes in. The creepy girls and Alzheimer/dementia episodes were great. Fuck it was amazing considering it was original content. To me it seems like since they knew they had zero chance at s2 they kinda just rushed the ending. (vs the pacing before it is obvious) I still consider one of the best anime in recent years.

I thought I read somewhere that Strawberry Panic was a tongue-in-cheek shoujo-ai? I wouldn't know, though, don't really care for the genre to tell or notice.

But @Lord of Cinder, I don't know what you have or haven't seen, but have you seen Revolutionary Girl Utena? Or Steel Angel Kurumi 2 (yeah, this one's a sequel)? Seems to be along the lines of what you're currently looking for if you're not going to bother with hentai (since that seems to be the only other way to watch yuri--like Shoujo Sect).

The sequel really sucked.
