Dark Horse actually managed to release the first volume omnibus for Gunsmith Cats, and the second one is coming up in the next few months. People have told me that the manga surprisingly is a lot deeper than the anime since that was so short, though either way, I’m looking forward to reading it in full.

Sakamoto Days had one of the most retarded scenes I remember, there's a gambling arc and the villain counts cards in Blackjack

He then asks to have another card

Except the guy had 11 in card total so taking another card would have been the obvious choice anyways. Also Blackjack is having Ace+10, not any sum of 21.

It makes me think of Austin Powers laughing on this exact trope

It's worse in video games where the devs seem to think you are not justified in being violent because you can always load if you die.
Plus four could be referring to the running or true count.
The running count is divided by the amount of decks remaining in the shoe which equals the true count. A positive high true count is when you bet more because there are more face cards left in the shoe.

The only time you would debate what to do on an eleven is if the dealer is showing an ace. Any other card the dealer is showing would be an automatic double down.
You're right about the blackjack part. Maybe im giving them to much credit.

March 30th is 1990s seiyuu queen, pop singer, and nurse Megumi Hayashibara's 58th birthday.

You could add another few rows of prominent Megumi Hayashibara roles to this image such as Atsuko "Nuku Nuku" Natsume from All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, Lime from Saber Marionette J, Tira Misu from Sorcerer Hunters, Canal Volfield from Lost Universe, Ai Amano from Video Girl Ai, Pai from 3 x 3 Eyes, Tomoko Aeki from DNA² and Haruka Urashima from Love Hina plus some memorable one-shots like Achika Masaki, Tenchi Masaki's (TV series continuity) mother in Tenchi the Movie: Tenchi Muyo in Love.

Anyways, is there any anime that's come out in the last year that anyone would recommend?
I'm a bit wary to recommend it, but I really liked Sengoku Youko.

It starts goofy and very generic, but the author keeps doubling down on the "shit hits the fan" factor, making it quite enjoyable. It does feel kinda rushed in some parts, but nothing that takes away from the experience. I watched only the first season, second one came near the end of the year I think.

I'm also a sucker for anime with youkai, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt.

I have heard it described as an "attack on titan clone". That must be a truthful moniker then.
It was made by the same people, so yeah, pretty much. I remember it being fun, though the plot takes a lame turn in the second half. Least the animation quality stayed relatively consistent (though it was never as good-looking as the first episode), I don't recall a lot of egregious off-model moments.

I've never seen Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress but it seems like a good thing. It's animated by WIT Studio, and knowing their track record with gorgeous animation and stunning soundtracks - it definitely looks like an underrated masterpiece by them.

She is the definition of a VA with actual range, just compare Rei to Faye to Lina and they're radically different from each other.
