Thats why I liked the Vigilantes spin off more than the actual series. Vigilantes was 10/10 and shat all over the actual MHA story.
I'm actually glad its getting an anime next month, although from the trailer it looks like they might only go as far as the Sky Egg arc (unless they want too go ahead and kick the Aizawa flashback to the main anime and fix the pacing issues of the Naruhata Lockdown)

It's just really fucking lazy. It baits you with a lot of opportunity in world building and characters, but it's as deep as a stain. Deku being considered abnormal for being a superhero autist doesn't make sense when you'd think any super hero would learn a fuckton about other heroes because his life literally depends on it. But it's that way because he needs to appeal to otaku who will waste a fuckton of braincells on minut shit.
Whenever I see the characters or the world of BNHA it reminds me of somebody's original character on deviantart. Todoroki is a good example. The visual representation of his quirk in his character design feels like it is insulting my intelligence. The worldbuilding similarly insults my intelligence. The series feels like X-men fanfiction written by a twelve year old.

It is the birthday of this guy

Little rant, why on god green fuck is Manwha popular at all?
it is?
i'm fairly certain only the subset of gamer bore grindfest isekai slop is popular in the same vein all isekai are popular

i actually fucking read the original gamer mawha before that entire concept blew up thanks to autists and it was the most mediocre nothing story ever
guy goes in dungeon matrix other world place
grinds
that's it

Have you fucking not heard about shit like Solo Leveling, God of Highschool, or Tower of God?/hj

Yeah it is popular and I kinda dont get it AT ALL since all of Manwha just ranged from

1. Fuckshit Power Fantasy
2. Edge schlock borefest
3. Porn and that’s it

I liked Immortal Regis, neat shonen manwha. It's kinda old by now if anyone is going to check, it's an isekai (OF COURSE) before the wave of slop drowned japanese creativity years ago.

I didn't read the sequel past the first chapter, it was a huge time skip. One of these days I'll go back to it.

you guys remember Karin: Chibi Vampire? Essentially some fluff ass 2000s romance story about some vampire crybaby chick who gets constant nosebleed from bland male guy who’s essentially Proto-Ryuji from Toradora (kinda ironic since there both made by J.C Staff) I found out about on some Future Diary manga ad by Tokyopop back at like 2018 and I watched the anime recently and overall…it’s just ok?

Mobile users
Iirc the publishing industry is dead in South Korea or is so tiny now that it might as well be so every thing is web/online only since the early 2000s (there used to be a good amount of physical manwha, used to have one about Ragnarok online and I remember liking an old one called Veritas). It was when smartphones started getting popular in South Korea that two large trends started that has defined modern webtoons, they started using the infinite doom scroll as there chapter format which somehow worked just as well as most social media sites, and they adopted a stamina type payment system similar to some old mobile games where you could read a handful of chapters free everyday but had to pay if you want to read more, so if there was even one series a gook was begrudgingly interested in, they had to log in everyday to get the most bang for your buck.

It was around the mid 2010s when they started expanding globally, for the most part they didn't change that model except for the west where navier webtoon specifically, made the entire service free for awhile before slowly implementing a coin system, heavily spent on advertisement so webtoon ads where the only thing you saw for awhile, and heavily promoted western artists and there creator program to pad out their Korean manwha and to encourage any creator with any sort of following to check out there new series on webtoon (to this day I think the most popular series in that service is lore olympus and unordinary)

I'm not certain if manhwa overall is popular, or if there's just a massive supply of it.

Some of it does have really good art, though. Check out A Stepmother's Marchen, although unfortunately the translation quality for the available scans gets pretty dire at times.

I remember hearing the LN was really fucked up.

Karin is adorable, though I haven't watched it since I was a teen. Upon reflection, the show is 100% allegorical of a girl getting her period. You see similar things in mahou shoujo animu, where the transformation itself (especially if the character is aging) is representative of puberty or some shit..

Chibi Vampire was one of the first manga I got into. Heard the anime was kinda ass so I never watched it.

Its pretty crazy to me how Nagatoro started off as a short still-image manga over 10 years ago. i still remember first time reading and absolutely hated her. The amount of abuse the MC took was absurd. this was before NTR/cuckholding became mainstream as it is today.
it's just the average tsundere dialed up to 11 to inevitably fall for the MC's wiener.

1. Fuckshit Power Fantasy
2. Edge schlock borefest
3. Porn and that’s it
so basically your average LN slop just with grafix and lot of whitespace?
