Why are code geass fans so close minded and judgmental? R1 was okay but then they get all pissed off at anything that isn't explicitly worshipping Lelouch and Suzaku and dont care about anything else. Is this some IRL geass phenomenon or just the typical retardation from most fandoms?

He's also not the mastermind tactician that the story makes him out to be. Though I guess he is by anime standards where facetanking everything like DSP seems to be the go-to play.
I can understand Lelouch being the meme master tactician, but Suzaku? He was always a meme writer's pet to show how the Japanese are master race

Guess the fujos have taken ahold of the fandom.

I have a question regarding the Dandadan manga: Is the english translation faithful to the japanese original (I have yet to read the japanese version) ? Because it seems like the translators made many things up. It's weird how the characters speak and what words they use. Is the manga actually that way or did the translators sperg out?

It might feel a bit sanitized (ala unnatural) sometimes, which is very usual for official translations, but it's fairly accurate most of the time. I did remember seeing some mistranslations tho at times.

It's the birthday of this tragic character

Yeah, I never got any "tactics" out of the guy, he just sort of came off as a Mary Stu that was inexplicably good at robot fight'n while hanging around with the guy that makes the best robot.

Deku has more chemistry with his fucking bully for fucks sake
I think if you go back pre-sports festival their Chemistry was fine. However it was pretty obvious the mangaka was way more comfortable writing for males who were friends. All of the Male friend groups in MHA feel pretty organic and well written which worked in the manga's favor. It says a lot when you could argue the main group of characters anyone gave a shit about were like: Bakugo, Deku, Todoroki, Kiroshima, and Shigaraki. Four of those characters being an active friends group and the most redeeming quality of Shigaraki was his friendships with Spinner, Dabi, and Twice.

On other topics Oshi no Ko ends in 4 chapters. Shame on me for reading 2 series from this hack that have crap final arcs, never touching anything from him again.

Bruh I don't know how you can have a setup where the main character is in a perilous situation, and it is equally unsatisfying if he lives or dies. If he lives it will because a literal deity decided to save him. If he dies, its because a literal deity decided to watch him drown. In either case, Aqua has a literal deity whos life he's already saved, floating like four inches above the water watching him as he drowns.

Its so dumb, the supernatural element of this story should have been left alone. The entire premise would have been fine if no reincarnation happened, or if a reincarnation did happen and they just left it alone and didn't give it any reason for having happened, and that's excluding how rushed everything has been in the last year or so.

The only reason the reincarnation thing has any sort of impact in the narrative is to have the funny babies doing not baby things, give their manager/surrogate mother a heart attack (that is blatantly ignored after that as a one off joke) and to bait incest like it was going out of style. The supernatural actively hurts the narrative. One of the things I hate the most is how Aqua is such a fucking angsty edgelord when he supposedly was a surgeon that lived a whole life to adulthood, Ruby had more of an excuse to be more childish since she died a child, being a teenager is proper new information for her.

Nobuyo Oyama. legendary voice actor, has passed away at the age of 90.

She lived with dementia for almost 20 years. Her husband said she showed signs of it around 2008 after she had retired, though for some reason they just had to get her to be Monokuma despite its effects showing. Really is a sad ending for a beloved seiyuu.

Actually, Aqua was never a surgeon, he failed the surgeon exam and was just a doctor. Him being a surgeon was supposed to be a goal he wanted after the revenge plot, which is why its even more gay they're baiting us with his death.

"Oh Aqua may have died. Here's like 10 story lines he didn't wrap up first and a bunch of dreams he's been pursuing he's just gonna give up on."

I know that nowadays it's easy to denounce everything you don't like as 'made up', but it'd be nice to know what you think is made up rather than just go 'characters speak weird'. Can you give some examples so people can do a check?

So question guys... who else here is an Astro Boy fan?

And in particular... well, I tried to watch the 2003 Astro since there's a good fansub now, but two episodes in my impression was "this is just a generic Shonen anime that happens to star Astro Boy" (watch the 60s or 80s version and clearly they're not "generic shonen" even by the standards of their time).

But I'm curious: does the show get better? Is it worth trying to watch more?

.... Also I tried watching another 2000s anime reboot of a classic, Android Kikaider. Again, does it get better? Cuz the first ep seemed like a generic superhero anime.

No, it doesn't. The original toku or the manga are way better. 2003 Astro Boy is an adaptation of a few arcs from the manga, but stretched out -- you'd be better off reading the manga.

Why do anime fans have the lowest standards out of any group of media?

You look at video games, movies, tv shows, books, music and even fucking comic books and you'll find fans decrying this and that for being rightfully shit.

Take the new Joker movie for example; nobody likes it. Even contrarian retards have a hard time making too deep 4 u arguments, it's just that bad. The movie is a poorly written spiteflick meant to mock the people who liked the first one, only it does it so badly that it messes with it's own messaging.
The movie says that Arthur never wanted to be the Jokah babeh, but after letting go of the persona he gets dumped, recaptured and shanked in short order. Really makes it seem healthier to stay the worst version of yourself.

Then you look at a popular anime going on such as Oshi no Ko season two, and you hear nothing, despite the fact that it is ten times worse than the first season.

A few bullet points:
First you have more than half the season take place practicing a play, during which Fuck all happens. You don't get any character development, the plot doesn't progress and the meta commentary of the first season is barely paid lip service towards.

Then there's the actual play and it somehow manages to be even worse than the nothing that preceded it. Characters suddenly get into drama with each other, which they resolve by schizophrenically monologuing internally during the play in which they are acting in.

Oh and that murderer man the main character was chasing? Yeah he just shows up and says he's the murderer. Riveting.

I just don't get it.

literally fucking who
people only liked that because of that one viral opening
There are a couple of us reading the manga still.

I'm not saying its good or we haven't spent the last several weeks mocking it, but we're still reading it.

Big saucer eyes, a Certified Japanese Seal of Quality TM, and constant fanservice shots of teenagers o algo. The only advantage anime has over Western animation is that it focuses more on vehicles, but the average tranime fan doesn't care about that, so it's pure stupidity all around. I have no idea why tranime fans are so anti-intellectual -- they only care about the presentation, not the substance. It's probably why you get people who watch nothing but anime; they're too hooked on the fanservice and big flashy colours to watch anything else (even Western cartoons or toku).

Western animation is exclusively for children outside of a few like South Park, and virtually everything except South Park is leftist trash now. Anybody watching modern western animation especially, like Steven Universe, is assuredly severely autistic and retarded, it's not only woke propaganda but terrible, ugly art and just plain boring.

Western animation is exclusively for children
So is anime. At its most mature, anime is written at a YA level -- and so are certain Western cartoons like Adventure Time and Gravity Falls; they just seem more childish because they have less realistic art than anime. LOGH, the most mature anime I can think of, it just Romance of the Three Kingdoms in space made for young people. Any more intense/adult themes are present in anime and toku because the Japs have very different standards than the West for what is considered child-appropriate.

That's why we have old Western cartoons. Many of them are even very similar to anime; MASK is basically a mecha anime without giant robots, Starcom is diet Dragonar, Spiral Zone is Votoms sans PTSD, and anything Gerry Anderson did is sure to have been copied in some anime somewhere. This isn't even mentioning the darker, more mature ones like Bravestarr and Thundercats. Besides, anybody watching modern anime especially, like Mushoku Tensei, is assuredly severly autistic and stupid, it's not only pedo propaganda but terrible, ugly art and just plain boring.
