Holy shit Slam Dunk is on Netflix now.

I think it's time to watch. Wanted to check it out for ages.

Yuri is an acquired taste and it's essentially a focus on the (either platonic or romantic) relationship between women and dealing with each other's differences.
I've never heard of platonic yuri, I always just heard it used in the context of hentai as a genre.

Never heard of HiDive, I'll look into it if I can't find "other" streaming sites, thanks.

I have a theoretical question about racing anime. Can do those drivers, i.e. Akio and his Fairlady Z, Takumi and his Trueno, and Kanata and his GR86, keep up with IRL Nissan Altima drivers, with the "Big Altima Energy" phenomenon being a real thing? Heck, would a racing anime featuring a Nissan Altima driver and Big Altima Energy even be a feasible series, even though the Altima stereotypes are only a thing in the US?

I don't know that much about racing cars to give a conclusive answer, but on the latter, it absolutely would be feasible if someone was aware of it.

Regarding the drivers you listed, it would depend a lot on the track to be honest, since they're shown to have specialties. Using the most recent example, Kanata's specialty is a downhill track full of curves that he's already seen before, where he can make full use of his memory and perform high speed turns and drifts with minimal speed loss. Most of the cars he races against are much more powerful than his 86, but this is a flaw because the driver is forced to slow down and take the turns slower than Kanata will, lest they lose control of their car and crash. On the other hand, it's clear that if Kanata is on a flat straightaway that isn't going downhill, he'll be at a disadvantage. It's not enough for him to outright lose, since he can still block lines and make it difficult for other racers to pass him, but flat straightaways are what powerful cars are made for. In short, if you pit Kanata against Beckenbauer with both entering a straightaway side by side, both at the same speed and the path is not leading downhill, Beckenbauer is going to be farther ahead to some degree by the time the straightaway ends.

So really, if want to know if they can compete with the Altima, just check what the Altima is good for and compare to what they are good for. And remember that even good cars can't win if the pilot is shitty, whereas the entire point of Takum and Kanata is that their cars may suck compared to the competition, but the pilots are top notch and masters of what they are good at.
