Great to see this, it's easily still Ito's best and most complete work. Only 4 episodes is disappointing though, that's not nearly enough to give it all justice. It looks like they're at least going as far as the hospital so I wonder if they're saving the rest for later?
They'll probably cancel it before season 2.

His and Her Circumstances is really entertaining for like, 80% of the run. Then it kinda falls apart after the mangaka and Anno got into a fight over the tone of the adaptation
I had forgotten the ol' "gainax curse".
What a wild time we live in where Adult Sun is not just funding anime, but it is airing in subtitled Japanese on television.
The more aged will remember a time when the cartoon network/adult swim fought for things like a 2nd season for the Big O, and a nascar-inspired mecha anime most notable for its amon tobin soundtrack and hot michelle rodriguez tomboy waifu.

It is this character's birthday

Even relatively more recently you had Space Dandy. But all of those aired dubbed (Soace Dandy even famously aired in English before airing in Japanese).

It also cheapens Ai's death as an effect. The big spoiler for Ryosuke that caused him to commit suicide was that Ai remembered who he was even as a nameless faceless fan and it made him feel guilty. Well that doesn't make any fucking sense anymore because he wasn't some rando stalker. He was her friend's boyfriend. The two knew each other.
I don't like it either, as simple as it was, him murdering Ai because he was deranged and couldn't accept the idea of an idol dating and having children was far more effective than this convoluted mess. And it was more realistic. A while ago a crazy fangirl put glue in a kpop idol's drink and he ended up in the hospital because of it. As if that wasn't enough, his managers made him to apologise for having upset the girl.

It literally requires every single character, who have ranged between moderately to highly intelligent to just not do anything logical so that Hikaru can get away and then Aqua who clearly got notified of Hikaru's being where he is, decided to come alone to deal with him.
The setup makes me think they have some kind of plan to catch Hikaru in the middle of something (I assume that was their plan regarding Nino, to catch her attempting to murder someone) but how did they know he will be in that spot exactly? Why did Aqua go alone to confront a man who's older and stronger? They already had his confession to having caused Ai's death, they had him right there and they just let him go. Perhaps there's a good explanation for why Aqua went there seemingly alone but not catching Hikaru right after he confessed was still incredibly stupid, assuming Aqua really wasn't fooled and all of this has been carefully planned. "Carefully". Akane could have died if Nino aimed a bit higher or lower.

I've never finished a whole season of anime so boring, bland, and bad before as "The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat", why the hell did I watch it? If you told me AI made the entire thing, voice acting included, I wouldn't be surprised.

Also, this is one of the creepiest scenes in any anime I've ever watched, and reminds me that Japan isn't much better than western woke trash sometimes:

Even in manga, Tony can still be a dick

Spiderman: There are people below! I'll go save them !
Ironman: It's too late!
Spiderman: Get out of the way!
Ironman: Peter...!
From the Ultraman / Spiderman crossover manga (Ultraman: Along Came A Spiderman)
Dr.Doom not referring himself with a -sama 様 feels somehow wrong as I kinda remember the villain to be extremely boastful from my long-time knowledge in cape comics

considering tony just called peter by his name, they might be doing away with honorifics because they're western characters

That's not what I mean, characters can refer themselves with a -sama (様) next to the first-person pronoun they use whenever they think (very) highly of themselves. Which should be in line with Dr.Doom's personality as far as I do remember him in american comics long ago, as the dude isn't humble to anyone, but I guess that's more an oversight from the manga author.

Another example in mind is a recent serialized manga (raw - English scans) I've read with the egocentric heroine using watakushi-sama (私様) the entire time.

I think Gilgamesh in Fate makes use of ore-sama (俺様) iirc

An alternative would have been wagahai (吾輩), another pronoun that gives off a sense of self-importance and arrogance in addition to be old-fashioned since the term itself isn't common in modern Japanese outside of classic literature and fiction (Bowser/King Koopa in Japanese refers himself with wagahai as such).
Japanese pronouns are a quirk of the language that gets lost in translation so I can't say I blame anyone not familiar with the subject.

Did she really have feelings for Suzaku?
Someone has to, I guess.

I liked it. It gets pretty good and I like how clever some of his powers get, especially later on in the novels.

If you think that's pervy though, the author's other big work, Redo of Healer, is where he indulges in just about every weird sex and gore thing that pops into his head.
