You know, I'd be optimistic that all these big battle shonen ending means that we'll get better stuff in the future, but the monkey's paw has curled:
I haven't seen this show or manga, but apparently it's *engineered* to become a hit. It has a self-insert character going to a magic school (so it's manga Harry Potter), and there are lots of flashy sakuga scenes. Normally I wouldn't care about this, but it's being made by Bandai Namco Pictures, aka Sunrise, aka one of the only studios capable of putting out new mecha shows on a regular basis. I really hope they don't exhaust the resources they should be using for Hathaway's Flash 2, SEED Justice, and several unannounced original mecha shows on FOTM battle shonen that lasts hundreds of episodes and falls apart near the end anyway. It's bad enough that we didn't get that much for Gundam's 45th anniversary, probably because they wasted all their money on that Metaverse thing -- that's probably the reason Keroro is coming back rather than the Build series (that's not a problem doe).
