You know, I'd be optimistic that all these big battle shonen ending means that we'll get better stuff in the future, but the monkey's paw has curled:
I haven't seen this show or manga, but apparently it's *engineered* to become a hit. It has a self-insert character going to a magic school (so it's manga Harry Potter), and there are lots of flashy sakuga scenes. Normally I wouldn't care about this, but it's being made by Bandai Namco Pictures, aka Sunrise, aka one of the only studios capable of putting out new mecha shows on a regular basis. I really hope they don't exhaust the resources they should be using for Hathaway's Flash 2, SEED Justice, and several unannounced original mecha shows on FOTM battle shonen that lasts hundreds of episodes and falls apart near the end anyway. It's bad enough that we didn't get that much for Gundam's 45th anniversary, probably because they wasted all their money on that Metaverse thing -- that's probably the reason Keroro is coming back rather than the Build series (that's not a problem doe).

Guess SJ got sick and tired of the story going nowhere and everywhere/the readers got tired of being trolled.
I had a worry in the back of my mind that the story was going nowhere, but the cope I had was that there was some sort of plan. It ending so unexpectantly kind of confirms that it really wasn't going anywhere.

I think JJK might go down in history like Bleach where it's fondly remembered for having one absolutely incredible arc (and a really well done anime adaption in JJK's case) but in retrospect most of the series was pretty bland.

Throwing everyone at the same villain and having them all fail more or less the same way was canon filler tier shit.

I'd be surprised if it's remembered at all.

I've been watching it. It's super generic but the animation is really good. Your fears are probably well-founded - it's just Mashle: Drama Edition.

Kind of vaguely reminds me of Burn The Witch - I know it was basically one shots, but it was a really fun Kubo-ised version of a sort of Harry Potter meets early Bleach styled x-files inspired monster of the week stories. It could have been great!

I wish Kubo would write a few more 1-4 volume stories like Zombie Powder and Burn The Witch. Same for Samurai 8 by Kishimoto - I know it wasn't brilliant, but it would be fun to see them back in Jump a few times a year with something fresh.

Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! is ending in the next two chapters:

Between this, Nagatoro ending and Takagi-san’s family manga spin-off ending recently, I’m going to possibly run out of guilty pleasures to read and complete.

I kid, but it’s hard to believe it’s finally going to be over soon. It makes me want to finish the anime when I have the chance.
Cutest show last season, comfy even. It and Tomo-chan is a Girl are the only "new" romcoms I've viewed in the past year. I was kindov stalling out on anime for a while but in relatively quick succession I saw Frieren, Initial D, Devilman, Higurashi, and Azumanga daioh. Pretty good year, especially if Spy x Family comes back in october (maybe).

If you want to read a manga that's not ending any time soon, come back to WataMote, they've been stalling on Tomoko's graduation for at least half a decade. It's been "the first day of the school festival" for over a year now (with various "special chapter" detours outside the regular timeline of the manga)..

The ending of The Hero, the Dragon, and the Courier got translated and honestly the series ends poorly. It got bad when the joke time travel agency became more of a thing, but that series is like 4/10. I wish I never read it.

Edit:
On much better news, the shonen goat Hunter x Hunter is coming back on October 7th.

"goat"

Sure...

Oof, unless it's excluding the epilogue that's pretty much nothing. Though how much epilogue will be is doubtful when just about everyone died. Wonder if there is a deeper reason like the author being caught doing something naughty.
There's a quote from Gege where he admits that his real passion is making idol mangos. It became a meme, yet people are beginning to realize how he wasn't joking and he really never gave a shit.

JJK has to be the most soulless and dumb shonen of the decade. It's actually worse than Bleach in that regard,

Translation from AnimeCorner, Atsuko Tanaka's son message.
On August 20, 2024, my mother, the voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, peacefully passed away.

To all the fans who loved Atsuko Tanaka,
To everyone in the industry who worked with her during her lifetime,
I would like to express my deepest gratitude on behalf of her.

It is with great regret that I must inform you of this parent-child relationship in such a manner.

As per her wishes, I will not disclose the specific illness, but she bravely fought it for over a year with grace, humor, and strength. I believe it was a life that was truly characteristic of Atsuko Tanaka.

I feel truly blessed to have had such a proud mother.

Lastly,
Please do not forget the works that Atsuko Tanaka poured her heart and soul into,
The characters she loved and brought to life,
And Atsuko Tanaka, the voice actress herself.

With love and respect for the woman and voice actress that was my mother,
I sign this message with love.

August 20, 2024
Hajime Tanaka
Undisclosed illness since last year, so it's definitely sudden. Thinking she was doing fine with two roles from last season, the queen in Karasu Erabanai and Black Butler Francis Midford.
