Watched a random video on Evangelion and this fucking nitwit pronounced "Seele" as "Seal". Why even bother sperging about the show if you fuck up even the most basic stuff?
You sperg about the weirdest stuff. The pronounciation of SEELE is on an obnoxious swivel, and Netflix Evangelion proved how we shouldn't trust even the Japanese to know what's proper. While "Seal" is a boring way to say it, it's no less wrong than "See-luh" or "Say-lay".

Nigger, i am german, i know how to pronounce it properly. Imagine even bringing up Netflix Eva, i bought that shit on VHS back in the day. 2/10, see me after class.

This one, was in my recommends. Turned it off two minutes in because not only can't he pronounce words for shit, he also has major autism voice and cadence.

Ngmi.

All these kinds of retards care about is regurgitating the same opinions as every other discordnigger out there and then inserting some retarded witchhunt drama of the day that didn't even exist when the anime was made that inevitably lands them a thread here. There is no discussion or concept of community with them. They only care about creating echo chambers and banning anyone who isn't a discord bot, sychophant, or sock account of theirs.

In other words. Water is wet.

I never got the appeal of watching someone, either in media or irl influencers, be crazy successful without earning it. It looks to me like some sort of self hatred rather than something to aspire to or imagine yourself to be as.
I see the appeal of the character going from nothing to OP. Once they hit OP I tend to lose interest and drop them. Solo Leveling lost me when the character became a giganecromancer that singlehandedly sorted the bug invasion for example.

Though Musoku kept me engaged purely on the "how much more self fulfilling can this thing get" and the reply to that is "very much". Did the main character improve from a fat disgusting pig monster? Yes, did good genetics and resources play a factor in it? Very much so. This isn't reincarnated as a spider or a slime and having to grow from basically shit to a demon lord thing. You started out with full main character perks and your only past life perk was starting to read very early. His Hikihomori lifestyle doesn't even become an indirect asset because he turns out to be the perfect level of autistic for magical studies for example.

@SSj_Ness if you loved the second wife being a thing, you will love the third!
>remember that Savage Dragon exists
Jesus fuck, I remember thinking this was the shit like 20 years ago. But that was before the real Savage Dragon got phased out and it just became the author's barely disguised fetish with constant virtue signaling. I'm amazed Eric Larsen is still printing and selling this crap.

God, can I just say that I adore this shot of Takamura? It's so full of dark energy you don't get much in anime anymore, it's just incredible. This is how you know he fucks. So then why hasn't he kept himself a girlfriend?
He has enough standards to not hang out with whores but is too much of a cunt to get a proper thing going with a respectable lady. Though his chiropracter is slowly (which means at glacial pace for this series) warming up to him. Takamura is definitely the main highlight of Ippo. I do think I'll accumulate a few more months of chapters before trying to get back to date.

Isekai was better when the protagonist(s) made an effort to return home, even if they made friends/lovers along the way.
Isekai would be better if the protagonist wasn’t the only one with agency. Or if there were other reincarnates then have them have different goals.

I’d like a fucking reversal or even antagonist scheming that gives them a victory of the protagonist.

Shiggy diggy

To my defense, i turned it off two minutes in, my fault for thinking there's anything interesting Eva-related to watch in 2024. I apologize to @Trollblade69 for being unneccessarily rude.

No offense taken Feline.
Yeah, that's your problem like there: There's nobody out there capable of saying anything interesting about Evangelion, and all the people who act like they've got something to say are interchangable termites who've never watched any mecha anime. The only people who made worthwhile Eva videos were Demolition D with his "The Rebuilds just feel like any old anime, Anno is no less susceptible to spectacle creep than any other artist" three-part video, and GoatJesus with his "I hired a translator to check some lines in the sub to show they were mistranslated" and "Holy shit anime is getting way too safe and moe" videos.
I guess there's also Pauseandselect, but his Eva video was more about using the show as a stepping stone to talk about sekaikei and the Japanese anime zeitgeist.

Japan only seems to care about japanese high school for better or worse. So I doubt this will ever happen outside of some western writer commissioning a few japanese artists.

Its always amazing how they all sperg about shinji ad nauseum but never talk about the fact that EVA's are basically giant cyborg clones of humans that are in so much pain from all those grafted on cybernetics that they are guaranteed to be ticking time bombs for going berserk.

You know as tue biggest evafag in this board you are wrong. But you got a point the nature of evangelions.

People says that evangelion bot being robots are a shock but holy shit, no latter the version of it, when ritsuko introduces it, she never said robot a single time, she refers it to jinzo ningen (人造人間) (also translated as android or artificial human)

But evangelions dont feel pain, evangelion mirrors the state of the pilot (in japanese nerv case), so when they want to see, they literally grow eyes almost like from clay from their bodies.

The nature of evangelion is a cool subject but very few translated sources exist on it (ikuto yamashita even commented some time ago that he feel kinda ashamed of how different he made his notes back then)

Same art director who animated this

Huh, you deleted most of what you said, so I can't build a proper argument, but anyway. In the previous version of this message you mentioned the unit that Shinji's friend piloted working without an umbilical cable and how that confused you or something? Well, I'll try to answer that anyway...

The EVA Units normally require umbilical cables as a power supply as a form of control but also because, clones or not, they do not have enough organs inside them to allow for continuous operation; in this sense, they're definitely robots with very weak batteries. By contrast, the Angels have special organs, including one that gives them infinite energy [which is why they don't need to eat to live, considering how massive and unsuited for our world they are]. When Unit 03 gets hijacked by an Angel, it's assumed that the Angel is using that organ on the EVA, so it doesn't need a power cable. Unit 01 gets one after eating its way out of an Angel while berserk, absorbing the organ and being in a permanent active state that cannot be turned off. The EVA Units at the end all have that organ because they're pretty much clones of Angels for the purposes of SEELE's plans, which is why they mutate into those things.
