Holy shit these pedants and their need to make the dumbest terms ever because they can't imagine their precious anime sullied by association with such embarassments as DnD or LORD OF THE FUCKING RINGS.
The only terms I'll ever accept are the ones from this video by Pauseandselect:
Personally I have a fond attachment to the term "Narou-kei", since it's such a neat term to describe what is essentially Japanese fanfiction and/or RPG Maker mods.

Side note: How many people here have played Dragon Quest? I've heard 3 and 5 in particular get used as inspiration for this crap all the goddamn time.

Basically, yeah. 3 may not have been THE game that gave them the concept of 'job+guild' but the basic plot is 'you are Hero and you must go stop Badguy, go to Guild to hire Warrior, Cleric and Wizard so you do not go squish'. While FF1 was probably the game that started the actual 'hero is character class' thing, that game's influences would mostly be the 'everyone isekai'd gets superpowers's side more than anything, since that would be closer to the four doofuses who show up out of nowhere with crystal orbs. Meanwhile, DQ3 literally has you hire stereotypes to help you out and make up for the fact that you're not a one man army at the start of the game.

Not super sure on 5, I admit.

Speaking of Fantasy, I'd like to thank Frieren for making Demons >fucking Demonic< again. For too many years we've gotten stories about Demons being good or "humans are totally worse than demons guys" commentary (I blame DMC, Devilman, and perv shows). But Frieren says no to that gay shit. A Demon is a monster that uses language to deceive and eat people. There is none good, not a one, because Demons are the ANTITHESIS of good. Kill them where they stand, or tell them to kill themselves. Fucking based.

I'm surprised that those Japanese truckers didn't blame South Korean Protest Trucks or the Canadian Freedom Convoy, for making trucking look bad as a whole. And since Koreans love to bitch about Japanese things, just because, do the Japanese do the same to Korean things or no?
Can't be worse than trucks in The Philippines

I have to say I don't really care for this anime but the opening is fucking amazing. God tier anime opener.

That's literally the worst thing about the series, its cringe opening.

I'm admittedly a sucker for the "this one's an exception to the rule" kinda thing, like Goku being a good Saiyan, but it really is refreshing to finally see demons depicted as innately evil without exception.

That was the one good thing Canada did in years, what the hell are you talking about.

The japanese worship worst korean culture.

I meant that the Japanese truckers believed what Justin Trudeau and the MSM said, that the Freedom Convoy was evil and needed to be stopped in the way that they did.

Back to Anime, with 2 episodes of Plus-Sized Elf being released so far, is it a good adaptation of the manga, or no? How has the decision to only be 12 minute episodes affected the reception?

It's pretty QUALITY but they put the money in the places that count. The chapters in the manga were short so I don't particularly mind having multiple chapters in one short 12 minute episode. I doubt the anime is getting to the end of the first manga though.

I spent way to much effort on this question given everything but what the hell.

Can't say much about the reception as I haven't bothered looking at that but in my opinion it is technically a decent adaptation despite the fact it has made several changes in only 2 episodes.

Now that sounds bad but the only negatives are 1 or 2 small scenes cut in the convenience store, plus a change to how he gets the tickets for the bathhouse (show: Alraune as thanks / manga: boss just takes him) and the fact that they skipped chapter 3 so far (the first 10 chapters is pretty much just meeting the first lot of characters so I assume the mermaid is just shifted to a later episode for whatever reason as she is in the OP)

The other changes are it's more ecchi as the first manga chapter with it was the 5th (next episode) but they have added tons more skin in the show so far and the character designs so far have been bigger/meatier then they were at this point in the manga. Both these changes though feel fine to me as it just reflects the manga's changes as the girls got just bigger in general from art evolution and ecchi became a bit more common as it went along as well.

It boils down really to how much of a purist you are on if the changes will bug you but for me at least it all seems fine for now, a few scenes getting shaved off is unfortunate but is going to happen in any adaptation and well it would be fun to have the characters follow just how much the art kept changing across the manga I can't fault them too much for deciding to go with 1 design to make it more uniform and the likely reason easier.

Now to give an example of what I mean by art changes I have included a small picture from chapter 21 and from chapter 41. When you look at these remember this is the same character and these differences are not her getting fatter or a part of the story or anything, it's just the art changing across the chapters.

Is the retard flooding from the feature over yet? Is it safe to come back and enjoy this thread in peace?

I blame DMC

Outside of Sparda who just enjoys getting some living human ass instead of hellfire boiled ass, isn't the thing in DMC that the only reason Dante isn't evil is because he was born and raised as a human?

I'm pretty sure he's not even totally clued into his demonic heritage until the events of DMC3.

Nero, also is not a demon. He's the spawn of Virgil who is most certainly not a good guy and some random nun.

Virgil has died and come back multiple times in the name of seeking power and has only stopped as of DMC5, because his bastard son and brother convinced him to stop trying to kill everything briefly, and even in that game he sacrifices entire cities at a whim, and cuts his own son's arm off in order to acquire the Yamato again.

Outside of those three, you might have the one off Demon that's like Triss who's not totally evil, but even she was an antagonist for awhile. All the full demons and devils in those games are completely awful creatures who should be killed ruthlessly and as stylishly as possible.
