Late to the party but I agree with the people saying the new City Hunter live action film was okay. Weakest part was probably Kaori, writing and actress rarely had the same energy the series did, but I think that's unquestionably not on her specifically and debatably fits the plot they went with.

First 10 minutes will tell people who liked the show if they will watch it or not.

Anybody know anything about the manga for Mashle: Magic and Muscles? I watched a ton over the last few days, it was addictive, but I got to an episode where there's some fag who uses music magic and he's referred to as "they/them", is this bullshit some translator hijinks or is the series woke?

I also watched "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash" but almost skipped it because it's another one of those retardedly titled anime. I guess I gotta stop judging them based on that because this anime is really good. It's extremely cute but also surprisingly emotional and interesting.

Read the manga. Starts out strong/funny, devolves to shounen wank BAD, then kind of recovers at the end. No woke shit, the music guy was definitely a weirdo but I don't remember any pronoun faggotry and the guy wasn't playing the Okama card either, so I'd blame that on the localizers unless I'm remembering wrong.

Also, Nagatoro ending in 2 more chapters, and can say that for now, it's sticking that fucking landing, what an adorable chapter the latest one was.

As for Dandadan, another great flashback gets closed, but what I really wanna see is class rep go full magical girl, that shit has been teased for months now.

Thanks. The localizer scourge REALLY needs to be dealt with, I fucking cant stand this shit.

It's troonslator localizing bullshit, but way worse. See, the manga had a good ol' Q&A with the mangaka, & Macaron was called non-binary.

Except, the original Japanese raw says NOTHING about any non-binary faggotry, it just says he's a woman & a man.

Transcript (he's got a really casual handwriting):
女でもあり男でもある
と言ったところでしょうか

Engrish:
on'na demo ari otoko demo aru to itta tokoro deshōka

Broken Literal English Translation:
be both a woman & a man
Is that what I said

TL;DR - He's your basic gay clown okama archetype, complete with Takehito Koyasu voicing him. He literally calls himself a girl in a chapter as a gag, & he's never called they/them in the Mangaplus translation either (I read this weekly till it ended). The anime troonslator went forward with Viz's localized mistake, instead of mending that issue in the anime.
Also, Nagatoro ending in 2 more chapters, and can say that for now, it's sticking that fucking landing, what an adorable chapter the latest one was.
We finally got the kissu, at the very end. Hoping for marriage & kids in the last 2 chapters.

I want /ourguy/ KINGta to comeback honestly. I miss him.

Since the Fairy Tail 2 game is coming out later this year (and 100 year quest anime next month) I guess I should hurry the fuck up and watch Fairy Tail Dragon Cry and the final season. Been watching Fairy Tail since 2014 so I think its time I finish it. I already finished Fairy Tail Zero couple months ago.

Has anyone seen Edens Zero? I finished both seasons last year and I loved it. It feels like a darker version of Fairy Tail but instead of a magic adventure its a Sci-Fi adventure. With more mature and disturbing shit in it (especially season 2)

Finished watching Glasslip, and the reviews were right about it being "Nothing Happens: The Animation". Sure, the graphics look good, but the character dialogue felt so awkward and unnatural, that if it were to have been released today, people would think that the dialogue was AI-generated. It's even to the point that the CHICKENS were better characters, than the actual human ones.

And the show itself would probably appeal to the "media must be deep art, and if you don't like it, you don't understand it and lack media literacy" types.

Definitely, but with how big the cast is, I understand rotation cycles must happen now and that the core two always have to be there. So might be a long time till we get some more fun with Kinta. I personally am already missing Aira.

Oh definitely, a bit of an extended epilogue for the next 2 chapters is my hope with no abstract bullshit, I'm still annoyed at the non ending of Insomniacs After School.
I guess that's referencing his transformation that looks like a woman? Not that he's both generally?
Guess I didn't remember the details, but it's just the okama thing again. It's "a man with the soul of a woman" or some other shit like that. The Japanese consider them weirdos for the most part and is usually a trope to instantly make a character eccentric. Mr2 Bon Clay from One Piece is what I instantly think of when I think of those types of characters and he's one of my favorites in the whole manga. One piece had a whole island full of theme which gives us this lovely visual

Nothing to do with how tranny faggotry has devolved in the west but also very easy to latch on to due to how closeish it is to drag queens and those have already been devoured by the tranny horde (while also being sex pests themselves). Another case of western progressives enforcing their bullshit on other cultures to push their agenda basically.

I don't remember any gender fuckery besides that one character being a weirdo but his fight was my favorite in the entire manga before I stopped reading. I definitely recommend the manga over the anime, most of the jokes don't work well in anime format and the animation isn't good enough to make the battle scenes better either. I got bored of it when it started taking itself too seriously while simultaneously making it apparent that Mash will never lose but you should stick with it as long as you like it, it's a good series.

As expected, good to confirm it though.

I watched an episode of Kakushigoto, and it was boring and shitty, but it featured a crossdresser/tranny who chased kids who thought he was a monster. Pretty funny how Japan typically portrays these weirdos compared to the west lol

Yeah, it was a pretty good fight. It's been fairly wacky so far, it'll be weird to see it start getting serious.

Pretty much, to your standard Japanese they are joke characters or joke tropes to quickly establish a character, in the same way you have the Tsundere or the hooligan archetypes. Definitely not any sort of social movement or anything of the sort outside of some very weird outliers.

It's absolute whiplash. The series is at it's best when Mashle is pulling shit out of his ass to have his absurd physical strength cover a gap, when it goes full "Mamoru Mina!" it gets very dry and tedious honestly. Thankfully near the end the series remembers it's roots and I'd say the ending is satisfying enough, but you need to go through a bit of a slog if the full shounen doesn't keep you invested. I'd suggest the manga as well to power read through those bits.

Re;Monster is probably one of the shittier isekai shows I've watched. I liked the concept at first because I've got a weakness for good monsters versus evil humans, but the animation and plot are boring as fuck. Dropped it when Ogrou's babies were about to pop their mothers open to be born. Not much grosses me out but even the prospect of that made me gag.
None of the characters are interesting and are basically solely defined by their abilities and powers in relation to Ogrou. Broken isekai RPG abilities are really only fun if they're used creatively or they're genuinely unique in some way (ex: Tsukimichi's Makoto experimenting with his ridiculous Mana pool, Konosuba's Kazuma turning a practical grab bag of abilities into an arsenal, Kumoko's use of her abilities in I'm a Spider) and Ogrou is decidedly not doing anything unique or interesting so all those ability pop ups from eating his foes just seems pointless.
