True, but dummies just don't learn. It's amusing that after everything from the live action bebop and Deathnote, to all the co-opted brands being sucked up to get the Netfux tramp stamp on them - there are still consoomers willing to give them a chance. They sink their teeth further and further into eastern studios, they continue to take advantage of Japan's 30 year dead economy to vacuum up as much as they can, just like Amazon. In real time you see them fuck up properties in the same way they would for the west, and for the exact same agendas that everyone fled away from in the first place. Despite knowing how this dance goes, some people still want to open their shekel purses and get a little poorer just to enrich a (((western))) middleman. Imagine the femmiest jayden smith cartoon you can, being passed off as anime, and it being broadcast to you forever... shit is bleak when the west gets a hold of the east.

Someone posted about the Princess Maker guy on the Gainax topic, I went into wikipedia and found out this:

On April 17, the official Gainax website posted a gag comic in which Yoko, the main heroine of Gurren Lagann, shoots a character of Yes! Precure 5, the program that runs against Gurren Lagann in the same timeslot. The comic was later removed from the site the same day, but not before the image had spread and triggered a response from Toei Animation, the animators of Precure 5.

I think at least in the context of Spirit Circle the modern day hero is a bit too passive to the world around him, though he is a teenager so it's not like he had time to make something of himself. Just that line in particular stuck with me. Also I'll say Fortuna is evil with the plan to recreate the universe around himself, his chapter has a bit too fast with jumping through morality hoops without caring about the results of his actions. If it was related to him the extreme of "fuck you got mine" ideology of the protagonist it might have worked better, but in the end it ties back to the biggest issue is just how the heroine doesn't really matter, even in the star crossed lovers sense.

Every time they tell you translating lines into Reddit-brained sub-Whedonesque quipping or into "sussy baka patriarchy you lost your rizz" is necessary to get people to read or watch anime and manga just remember that these people, they hate art and they hate you and they should be shunned from ever having an opinion on anything, failed writers that they are.

Something needs to be done about this long trend of translators who think that their own writing and characterizations are superior to the creators’ original intent, and that punching up their translations with dated references and memes is needed.

Their defense has not changed in decades: “we NEED to make these changes, the cultural gap is too big for a broader American audience to understand!” maybe they shouldn’t? Maybe it’s not for them. If they can’t adapt to another cultural context, they should stick to Star Wars slop or the MCU or whatever.

If you know a 2nd language where u can watch anime in subs. Just use that. I always watch with subs in Spanish and localizers for any language other than English always stay true to the original JP version. If not, then sorry bud. Im afraid ur up shit creek without a paddle.

It's not too complicated on the surface but they start going into a lot of sub-mechanics which is where I start getting lost. Still a great show but maybe it's one of those shows I have to rewatch twice to get down
 
Was bored and started reading Farming Life In Another World as I wondered what happened after the anime, only to discover that the pacing and sequence of events is drastically changed.
