Is it any good? Whenever I see Netflix is involved I immediately have my doubts
Netflix is just a distrubutor but unlike JoJo they didn't fuck it up and we get a weekly release. Trigger did a great job with the anime and if it doesnt get a s2 announcement or another studio does it then :bossman:

I question their involvement... It is very true to the manga and Trigger has done an excellent job of capturing it's spirit. The writing doesn't seem to be tampered with, and it simultaneously released in Japanese and English. Somehow Netflix has brought us a good anime - which leads me to suspect their hands were tied with a strong contract.

The second season hasn't been announced yet - if it's only 12 episodes avoid it.

For what it's worth Netflix's dub of Dungeon Meshi is unsalvageable, a not even remotely female sounding tranny is voicing Namari. The site I use didn't have the sub posted and I watched about half a minute of the dub until it spoke and then I was done.

Watching Ainz gaslightning Albedo and Demiurge into thinking his bullshit was all according to keikaku is much more entertaining
Since that's the only goddamn joke it has it gets old at lightspeed imo, but I get what you're saying. I haven't seen/read that other one.

Oh so that's what this thing is. Jesus fucking Christ. I was wondering where this explosion of absolutely hideous tumblr-tier art came from. The base material doesn't look too bad but it's too similar to the garbage tranny "artists" shit out. You know the type.
It's more that Tumblr is ripping off Trigger's style because it's vibrant, but at the same time not very artistically demanding. Gurren Lagann, KLK, and Little Witch Academia are all super popular among the trananime demographic even though none of them are particularly LGBT without loads of projection.

I think the manga doesn't really come off as Tumblr at all mostly because while the human characters are simple/clean the backgrounds and monsters are way too fucking hard for hacks to emulate.

So there's the catch. There's always a catch with Netflix

It's been dead for about a decade but damn it hurts seeing it happen officially.
Yeah, Khara and Trigger had already snagged a few of the remaining IPs, let alone all the talent having long since left. So, Gainax had been a husk for the longest time anyways. Guess all their vaporware like their Harlock trilogy or Uru in Blue are finally as dead as could be though.

I thought that was why they dropped the X in their name to be Gaina? Still sucks to see a legend fade away like that.

Play me out, Arianne.

Gaina is still alive. They will do Grendizer U next month.

Gainax as a brand was a clusterfuck, I probably know more about they than you, they weren't an anime Studio, and sure as hell I dont know how to categorize it, but they did so many stuff like games, digital artbooks back in the 90s, software related to their series, sometimes in their website you could find reports of the gainax team in airsoft competition back in the early 00s, they just did a lot of stuff and had multiple branches.
After everything started going down, multiple gainax appeared and everything went to shit. The current director (yasuhiro kamimura), actually worked as animator back then but eventually became a behind the scenes guy, so we went with Anno to khara to work on licensing.

And the thing is: evangelion and other properties got so big that khara had to create a new company just to manage their products not directly but through this new company (Groundworks).

So basically almost every single product related to evangelion and other stuff had the hands of kamimura, everything. He is a fucking genius. There is a thing that he said in an interview in chinese that I just cant find and it kills me: most anime studios uses characters to sell products related to it, but he was the one to push another boundary to it: use specific colors like evangelion units and pilots, but the motherfucker went even ahead and used the film own colors to sell some product.

So now you have character products, character color products and also film color products. To not even say about how he revolutionized fashion and to have their own store rather than rely on other companies.

And my favorite evangelion related brand is the A.T. FIELD, a brand that is specific for tools and things for security.

Anime Studio Gainax Files for Bankruptcy

RIP. Gunbuster, Diebuster, and Nadia were great, haven't seen Evangelion or Panty and Stocking.
I wonder what this will mean for those Leijiverse movies. As of last February the Twitter account for them said they were in production, and I think they're being made at Gainax Kyoto, which is completely separate. Maybe Khara will get involved and see that these movies get done -- and God knows it needs to happen since we need more (non-Yamato) Leijiverse content! Yonago Gainax is being run by the Princess Maker guy; they're making Steam games, including a new game and revisions of old Princess Maker games. Gaina is up to a lot; they're making Grendizer U, which is actually going to come out in less than a month. They were also supposed to make Uru in Blue and Gunbuster 3, but Khara sued and put the rights to Uru under the control of the Anime and Tokusatsu Archive Center, so maybe Khara will make something Uru-related one day. The plans for Gunbuster 3 look like they would have been based on Next Generation, which is a novel from the 80s and became a manga in the mid-2000s.

Also as a side note: next month there's going to be a Gunbuster event, and Obari is going to draw some new pictures for it.

Faraway Paladin is great, but I'd really recommend the manga over the anime, the anime's production quality is not good and the way they rendered the big final fight was a lot less impressive-looking.
