Oh man...I didn't get into Dragon Ball as much as my husband did, but I enjoyed watching it when I could on Toonami. My husband loves the series, he's going to be a very sad boy :(

Rest In Peace, Toriyama, you magnificent bastard. Say hi to God and the other greats we've lost for me.

Was not the biggest Dragon Ball fan in general but man...this hurts.

One of the most influential mangaka of his time and he wasn't even that old compared to the rest.

RIP to a real one.

I know every racial demographic tries to claim it as theirs like they do with Vick's Vaporub, but the truth is that DBZ was a show for boys all around the world. From the overcrowded cities of the US to the hottest villages in SE Asia to the coldest towns in northern Europe, Toriyama's work tapped into our primal desire to see dudes beat the snot out of each other.

RIP :semperfidelis:

Man made my childhood, watching each and every episode of dbz as it came out on TV was truly magical. I remember one of the first things I did on the Internet was watching the whole show again on some sketch site i found by Googling "watch dbz free online now". I remember as a teen going back and laughing my ass off when I finally watched the original dragon ball. Sadly never really played chrono trigger but it's legendary status was always extremely clear. I did play the hell out of the budokai games and especially the legacy of goku gba games that I absolutely adored, I even spent dozen of hours playing the atrocious gba fighting game taiketsu. Never got around to watching or reading his first hit, Dr slump, but I did play a fan translation of the ps1 game and it just oozed charm.
I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the man without a giant goofy smile on his face, and despite how notoriously horrendous the manga industry is to there authors he just kept pumping out story after story so there's no doubt its what he loved. Hope he rest well knowing how much joy he spread.

R.I.P. To a real one, didn't expect to feel this one, and it fucking came out of nowhere. I'll be picking up Sand Land and the new DBZ fighter in memory of one of the most prolific entertainers of my generation. May you be fighting epic Super Saiyan battles along Ronnie James Dio in Valhalla.

Time to fix this timeline

I thought that he would make it past the 70s. Rest in peace king and thank you for creating one of the most influential works in the history of entertainment. DBZ is after over nearly 15 years still on of the most significant anime of my life and will always hold a special place in my heart.
