the thing is too that even without curses Sukuna is still a huge guy with four arms who could easily kick Yuji's ass in a one to one.
Pretty much, I was hoping he would humor the court system for a bit, ham it up, even do a dramatic Phoenix Wright patented spergout when "caught" only to laugh his ass off after being declared guilty and kicking everyone's shit on pure physical might. I mean, lets be honest, the ones that are still alive are the fucking dregs of the "good guys".
Even calling it that is kind of off. It was Bleach if it was passable past the first major arc. It still has all the problems of Bleach (inconsistent power stuff, the setting makes no sense if you think about it for more than five seconds, the protagonist is just there, and the side characters may as well not exist.)
Apt assessment, Jujutsu was good for longer than Bleach, but that nosedive was harsh.
No. I agree with you. My opinion of it only worsens as time goes on, contrary to how I view Naruto and Part 1 of One Piece. Too many of these series try to pretend like their "power systems" aren't made up bullshit or just something to excuse whatever power. One Piece had magic devil fruits, which can effectively do anything and it sure as hell doesn't pretend like they can't nowadays. Naruto had bloodlines where some people are just born with the ability to fuck reality beyond their MP bars. Bleach, JJK, and Hiatus X Hiatus never shut the fuck up about how their fantasy nonsense is supposed to work while at the same time not making sense and pretending that it does.
I can live with bullshit power systems as long as it's entertaining (hell, that's the whole premise of JoJo), but HunterXHunter lost me when it became a fucking novel explaining in autistic detail the powers and their gimmicks and so on. If I wanted to read tons of words, I'd read a fucking book, show don't tell you fuck.
It's one thing where there are hard rules. It's another when you pretend there are when there clearly aren't, and you are just making shit up as you go along to anyone with the memory beyond a goldfish's. Anyone want to try to explain to me how Gojo survived Toji after the fucker shanked him in the brain when the jujushit is tied to having a functioning one, as Sukuna attests? Anyone? Or is that just for domains, as if that can really justify getting back up after that?
I stopped trying to make any sense out of cursed energy a very long time ago. I was just in it for the ride until things got too convoluted for their own good/lame. Todo's ability is simple, fun, trolly and I can understand it, same deal with Megumi (I can summon neat familiars from my shadow) or Nanami (I hit things really fucking hard if I hit the right spot and I'm even more powerful during overtime).
Gojo? Mental wank that I just filed as "he's OP as fuck, don't think too hard about it", same deal with Sukuna.
