Will of the Worldbros, it's our time to shine.

why is anime CGI so bad
It's bad enough when it's diluted to court (((western aesthetics))), but introducing that DreamWorksFace© too? Yeah, pedowood and all nip studios who emulate it need to be glassed - Twice. I am so sick of that shit-eating grin all western CGI characters get.
I really do miss back in the day when more anime were actually original and not just adaptions(advertisements) for manga.
There certainly were some strange ass OVAs back in the day... I've been mining nothing but the past for good shit.

So I just watched the first season of Thunderbolt Fantasy with a friend. Great shit, loved it. Only question is what do I watch next?

The movies? The next season?

And that's not even talking about trying to get into it's inspiration, Pili, which has been running since before I was born.
Probably just release order, it's intended that way. Chronologically both movies take place before S1 anyway. The short cross promotional video with Fate/Grand Order should probably fit in there too if you like Saber at all.

Had no idea the movies were prequels, that's cool. Guess release order it is.

I'm hyped. I saw a few scenes from season 2 in a video and shit looks brutal.

While good, cutie honey is a manga.

The original Bubblegum Crisis OVA series sort of lost its direction and wandered around before falling apart, but the tone and "feel" of it is quite intriguing. 2040 is a miss for me, aside from a very interesting subplot establishing that Celia has profound bipolar issues. This gets significant because her mind was used as the template for AI combat robots.

I heard from my brother there's some noise happening in MAPPA? A lot of the artists are on social media complaining about a toxic work environment?
Yeah it's mainly the animators for Jujutsu Kaisen. Which makes sense since they never got a single break at all and were shuffled to season 2 after doing both Chainsaw Man and the Jujutsu Kaisen movie.

Isn't that a common complaint in multiple different anime studios at this point? Seems like every couple years there's a complaint about the stressful work environment in studio-of-the-week.

The aliens from Muv-Luv gave me nightmares.
CHOMP

apparently some of the animators are (justifiably) walking out due to sweatshop conditions that happen in the company

It's more noticeable with MAPPA whose been taking many high profile projects all at once and using the same staff for all of them.

I’m actually going to buy and read To Love Ru omnibus volumes because I saw Gintoki from Gintama fame read it on occasional episodes. It should be good, since I remembered watching it from the beginning, but not all the way finishing it.

It should be a nice gift for this holiday season.

The original BGC really spoke to me, you know, it was one of those future-aesthetics as projected from 80s economic boom era Japan that was perhaps as soon as a decade afterwards already seen by some as "charmingly retro" like original 1930s sci-fi raygun gothic or 1950s visions of the future featuring space-explorer uniforms that came with neckties and room-sized computers with lots of blinking lights and sleek rocketships with fins.

I was listening to the remastered soundtrack recently - some of the songs' lyrics' were written by Tomoko Aran, (for example "Konya wa Hurricane", "Mad Machine", "Asu e Touchdown") who released some pop albums back in the day:

I've been getting into lupin the 3rd and I'm very surprised how good it is. Dub is pretty neat too. Looks like I got a couple thousand episodes to go through though

Absolutely hate the English logo though.

There's like several different dubs, and they're fantastic. Can't think of any real cons for any of them, though I recently watched Twilight Gemini and I have a feeling that was one of the first Lupin titles FUNimation dubbed. Jigen sounded closer to Kuwabara than Piccolo like Sabat would do later.
