I binged "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" these last few weeks, first the anime then finished the series by reading the manga.
It's my first time watching any romcom anime, I'm more into action/adventure. I always assumed romcom would fucking cringe, based on the shit I had seen on other anime, turns out it wasn't.
This series is actually really good, it's both funny and heartwarming, it also has little to no cringe, and almost no weeb-pandering.
I loved the dynamic between the main couple, loved the side characters, loved that the character actually acted somewhat like real teenagers, talking about relationships and sex in a natural way that I hadn't really seen much in Japanese media before.
But man, the ending was so shit. The last big arc felt like something from a completely different series, a stupid shonen plot out of nowhere.
I also didn't like that the series didn't give an actual conclusion to the main supporting characters. After wasting almost half the series developing them, they just leave their relationship open, having them act completely out of character, all for the sake of having a "pottery" moment at the end.
All and all, though, I still think it was a pretty good time.
I recommend it to those like me, with no romcom experience but with some curiosity in the genre.
